ദക്ഷിണാർദ്ധഖഗോളത്തിലെ ഒരു നക്ഷത്രരാശിയാണ്‌ കുഴൽത്തലയൻ (Telescopium). തീരെ പ്രകാശം കുറഞ്ഞ നക്ഷത്രരാശിയാണ്‌ ഇത്. നക്ഷത്രരാശികൾക്ക് അതിർത്തികൾ നിശ്ചയിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഇതിലെ ചില നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ മറ്റു രാശികളിലായി എന്നതിനാൽ ഈ നക്ഷത്രരാശിയിൽ $\beta ,\gamma ,\theta ,\sigma$ എന്നീ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളില്ല എന്ന പ്രത്യേകതയുണ്ട്. ഇതിലെ $\beta$ നക്ഷത്രമായി നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന നക്ഷത്രം ധനു രാശിയിലും $\gamma$ നക്ഷത്രമായി നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന നക്ഷത്രം വൃശ്ചികം രാശിയിലുമാണ്‌ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇവ യഥാക്രമം $\eta$ Sgr എന്നും G Sco എന്നുമാണ്‌ ഇപ്പോൾ നാമകരണം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്.

ഈ നക്ഷത്രരാശിയിൽ മെസ്സിയർ വസ്തുക്കളോ മറ്റ് പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രവസ്തുക്കളോ ഇല്ല.
