Kerajaan Manado

Kerajaan Manado adalah sebuah kerajaan yang terletak di Sulawesi yang merupakan kelanjutan dari Kerajaan Bowontehu yang berdiri dari 1399 sampai 1670. Dalam memori gubernur VOC di Maluku, Robertus Padtbrugge, wilayah kerajaan Manado meliputi pulau Siladen, Bunaken, Mantehage, Nain, Talise, Gangga, Bangka, Lembe dan daerah pesisir pulau Sulawesi.[1]

Bersama dengan Raja Posuma dari Kerajaan Siau, Raja Manado Kinalang Damopolii dibaptis menjadi Katolik di sungai besar di Kota Manado bersama 1500 orang rakyat.[2] Raja yang pernah memerintah kerajaan Manado antara lain raja Don Fernando pada tahun 1644; dan raja Loloda Mokoagouw (1644-1670) sebagai raja terakhir. Kerajaan Manado pernah memainkan peranan penting dalam perniagaan. Bangsa Portugis dan Spanyol menjadikan kerajaan Manado sebagai gudang penyimpanan barang yang mereka bawa maupun yang dibeli dari penduduk pribumi.[1]
