അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ കൊളറാഡൊ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ദേശീയോദ്യാനമാണ് റോക്കി പർവ്വത ദേശീയോദ്യാനം[ 4] എസ്റ്റെ പാർക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഗ്രാൻഡ് ലേക് എന്നീ നഗരങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലുള്ള പ്രദേശത്തായാണ് ഈ ഉദ്യാനം വരുന്നത്. പർവ്വതനിരകൾ, ആല്പൈൻ തടാകങ്ങൾ , വനങ്ങൾ, തുന്ദ്ര പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഈ ദേശ്യീയോദ്യാനത്തിന്റെ സവിശേഷതകളാണ്.
പ്രസിഡന്റ് വൂഡ്രോ വിൽസന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്ത് 1915 ജനുവരി 26നാണ് ഈ പ്രദേശം ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്.[ 2] സിവിലിയൺ കൺസർവേഷൻ കോപ്സാണ് വനത്തിനകത്തെ വാഹന പാതയായ ട്രെയിൽ റിഡ്ജ് റോഡ് നിർമിച്ചത്.[ 2] യുനെസ്കോ ഈ ഉദ്യാനത്തെ ലോകത്തിലെ ആദ്യ സംരക്ഷിത ജൈവമണ്ഡലങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[ 5] [ 6]
ഫെഡറൽ ഭൂമിയുടെ 265,461 ഏക്കർ (414.78 ച മൈ; 1,074.28 കി.m2 ) പ്രദേശം ഉദ്യാനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്[ 1] യു.എസ്. ഫോറസ്റ്റ് സർവീസിന്റെ 253,059 ഏക്കർ (395.40 ച മൈ; 1,024.09 കി.m2 ) വരുന്ന വനഭൂമിയും ദേശീയോദ്യനാത്തിന്റെ പരിധിയിൽ വരുന്നു.[ 7]
