കേരള ശാസ്ത്രസാഹിത്യപരിഷത്ത് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ശാസ്ത്രചരിത്രം ജീവച്ചരിത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൽ കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരുടെ മലയാളം പേരാണ് ഞാൻ അവലംബിക്കുന്നത്. ഡാൻ ഇഞ്ചെൻഹൗസ് എന്നാണ് ആ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ഉള്ളത്. അതതു ഭാഷയിലെ ഉച്ചാരണം നോക്കി പേരുകൊടുക്കുന്നത് നല്ലത് തന്നെ. പക്ഷെ, അതിനായൊരു ബഹുഭാഷാപണ്ഡിതനെ നിയമിക്കേണ്ടി വരും. താങ്കളുടെ സംഭാവനകൾക്ക് വളരെ നന്ദി. തീർച്ചയായും മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയ്ക്ക് അവ വലിയൊരു മുതൽക്കൂട്ടാണ്. ആദ്യ വാക്യം മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ കാലാകാലങ്ങളായി പിന്തുടർന്നു പോരുന്ന ശൈലിയിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറ്റി എന്നു മാത്രം. പിന്നെ പൊതുവേയുള്ള മലയാള ഭാഷാ വ്യാകരണ ശൈലിയോട് കുറച്ചുകൂടി യോജിച്ചു പോവുന്നെന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. അതല്ലാതെ പ്രസ്തുത ശൈലിയോട് എനിക്കു പ്രത്യേക മമതയൊന്നുമില്ല. എന്നാൽ പൊതുവേ ആദ്യ വാക്യത്തിന്റെ ശൈലിയിൽ ഏകീകരണം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വായനക്കാർക്കു സുഖകരമാവും എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ശൈലി മാറ്റുന്നത് അരോചകമായി തോന്നുന്നെങ്കിൽ മാറ്റാതിരിക്കാം. ഏകീകൃത ശൈലി ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നല്ലത്.

മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം — പുറത്തേയ്ക്കുള്ള എന്നത് 'യ' കാരം ഇല്ലാതെ എഴുതുന്നത് ഭാഷാപരമായി ശരിയല്ല, എന്നാൽ 'യ' കാരം ഇല്ലാത്ത ഉച്ചാരണഭേദം ശീലിച്ച പലരും അതിനെ എതിർക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ പുറം കണ്ണികൾ എന്ന തലക്കെട്ടാണ് പൊതുവേ ഉപയോഗിക്കാറ്.

പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ രണ്ടെണ്ണമാണ് ഞാൻ കാണുന്നത്:

1. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ ഫലകത്തിലെ കൂറേ ചരങ്ങൾ deprecate ചെയ്തു. coauthors ഉദാഹരണം. ഇവയ്ക്കൊക്കെ ഇപ്പോൾ എറർ കാണിക്കുന്നു
2. തീയതികൾ കൊടുക്കുന്ന വിധം യൂനിഫോം ആക്കി. ഇപ്പോൾ തീയതി ലിങ്ക് ചെയ്താലും അനാവശ്യമായി എന്തെങ്കിലും ചേർത്താലുമൊക്കെ എറർ വരുന്നു. (മാസം മലയാളമാക്കുന്നതിന്റെ എററും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, അത് ഇതുപോലെ ശരിയാക്കാം)

@Oru sadhu: രണ്ടും തമ്മിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം നോക്കിയാൽ കൃത്യമായി കാര്യങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാവും.

1)ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിക്കിയിൽ ഇന്നത്തെ കണക്കുപ്രകാരം 138,662 സജീവ ഉപയോക്താക്കൾ ഉണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ മലയാളം വിക്കിയിൽ അത് 376 ആണ്.

2)മലയാളം വിക്കി എഡിറ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ 99% പേരും മലയാളികൾ ആണ്. എന്നാൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിക്കിയിൽ ലോകമെമ്പാടും അതിന് ഉപയോക്താക്കൾ ഉണ്ട്.

3)മുകളിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ വാൻഡലിസം (അഥവാ നശീകരണം) കണ്ടെത്തുവാനും ഒഴിവാക്കുവാനും പരിമിതികളുണ്ട്. എന്ന്കരുതി അത് ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നല്ല അർത്ഥം.

"തിരുത്താനേ കഴിയാത്തവിധം എഴുത്തും, ആശയങ്ങളും" - ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവ കണ്ടുകഴിഞ്ഞാൽ മുഴുവനായും പൊളിച്ചെഴുതുകയും ചെയ്യാം. ഇതിനായി സാൻഡ്‌ബോക്സ് (കൃത്യം കണ്ണി എനിക്ക് ഓർമ്മയില്ല) പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്താം. As you may already know, the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections are from 4 August 2021 to 17 August 2021. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.

An event for community members to know and interact with the candidates is being organized. During the event, the candidates will briefly introduce themselves and then answer questions from community members. The event details are as follows:

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

WikiConference India 2023: Open Community Call and Extension of program and scholarship submissions deadline

Dear Wikimedian,

Thank you for supporting Wiki Conference India 2023. We are humbled by the number of applications we have received and hope to learn more about the work that you all have been doing to take the movement forward. In order to offer flexibility, we have recently extended our deadline for the Program and Scholarships submission- you can find all the details on our Meta Page.

COT is working hard to ensure we bring together a conference that is truly meaningful and impactful for our movement and one that brings us all together. Need your input on a policy impacting gadgets and UserJS

Dear interface administrator,

This is Samuel from the Security team and I hope my message finds you well.

There is an ongoing discussion on a proposed policy governing the use of external resources in gadgets and UserJS. The proposed Third-party resources policy aims at making the UserJS and Gadgets landscape a bit safer by encouraging best practices around external resources. After an initial non-public conversation with a small number of interface admins and staff, we've launched a much larger, public consultation to get a wider pool of feedback for improving the policy proposal. Based on the ideas received so far, the proposed policy now includes some of the risks related to user scripts and gadgets loading third-party resources, best practices for gadgets and UserJS developers, and exemptions requirements such as code transparency and inspectability.

As an interface administrator, your feedback and suggestions are warmly welcome until July 17, 2023 on the policy talk page.

വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ അംഗത്വം എടുക്കുന്ന ഉപയോക്താക്കൾ തന്നെ വ്യക്തികൾ, സ്വയം പ്രഖ്യാപിത നടന്മാരും എഴുത്തുകാരും, ഡോക്ടർമാർ, വ്യാപാരസ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ, മെഡിക്കൽ ക്ലിനിക്കുകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ self promotionന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ഒരു ഇടമായാണ് ഉപയോക്തൃതാളിനേയും വിക്കിലേഖനങ്ങളേയും കാണുന്നത്. വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ അംഗത്വമെടുത്ത് സ്വന്തം ചിത്രം ചേർത്ത് ലേഖനങ്ങൾ എഴുതുന്ന ഇക്കൂട്ടർ വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ ആർക്കും എഡിറ്റ് ചെയ്യാം എന്ന സ്വതന്ത്രസ്വഭാവത്തെയാണ് ദുരുപയോഗം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ആർക്കും വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ എന്തും എഴുതിവെക്കാം എന്ന ബോധവുമായി നടക്കുന്നവരാണ് ഇക്കൂട്ടർ. ഇത്തരക്കാരെ കണ്ടെത്താനും നശീകരണപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്താനും അത് തിരുത്താനും വിക്കിനയങ്ങൾക്ക് വിരുദ്ധമായ ലേഖനങ്ങളും ഉപയോക്തൃതാളുകളും നീക്കം ചെയ്യാനും വേണ്ടിവന്നാൽ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള ip addressകളേയും ഉപയോക്താക്കളേയും തടയാനും കൂട്ടായ ഒരു പരിശ്രമം വേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.--Adarshjchandran (സംവാദം) 18:16, 25 ജനുവരി 2025 (UTC)[മറുപടി]

പ്രിയ ആദർശ്, ഇത്തരം പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ വരുമ്പോൾ കാര്യനിർവാഹകർക്കുള്ള നോട്ടീസ്ബോർഡിൽ ഒരു കുറിപ്പിട്ടാൽ താൾ പ്രൊട്ടക്ട് ചെയ്യുകയോ, ഐ.പി. ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യുകയോ ഒക്കെ ചെയ്യാനാവും. തുടക്കത്തിനു താങ്കൾ ഇട്ട ഈ കുറിപ്പ് ഞാ ഇങ്ങോട്ട് മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ലേഖനങ്ങളിലെ automatic taxoboxന്റെ പിഴവ് പരിഹരിക്കുന്നത് സംബന്ധിച്ച്

അനോന എന്ന താൾ തിരുത്തുമ്പോഴാണ് automatic taxoboxന്റെ പിഴവ് ആദ്യമായി ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ വരുന്നത്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിക്കിപീഡിയയിലെ സമാനമായ ലേഖനത്തിലെ Scientific classification എന്ന infoxലെ ഭാഗം മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയിലെ ലേഖനത്തിൽ ദൃശ്യമല്ല. പകരം അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്ത് Missing taxonomy template (fix): എന്നാണ് കാണിക്കുന്നത്. സമാനമായ പിഴവുകൾ മറ്റ് ലേഖനങ്ങളിലുമുണ്ട്. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് നീർപ്പൊങ്ങല്യം എന്ന ലേഖനത്തിൽ: Taxonomy template does not specify a parent (fix):, മാസ്റ്റഡോൺ എന്ന ലേഖനത്തിൽ: action=edit&preload=Template:Taxonomy/sameas}} fix]): [[{Placeholder error message}, ഇയോഹിപ്പസ് എന്ന ലേഖനത്തിൽ: Taxonomy template does not specify a parent (fix): (എന്താണ് ഈ parent എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ ?) എന്നിങ്ങനെ. ദയവായി ഇത് ശരിയാക്കാമോ ?--Adarshjchandran (സംവാദം) 21:03, 2 ഫെബ്രുവരി 2025 (UTC)[മറുപടി]
