വധശിക്ഷ ബെനിനിൽ

ബെനിൻ എന്ന ആഫ്രിക്കൻ രാജ്യത്ത് വധശിക്ഷ നിയമവിധേയമാണെങ്കിലും 1987-നു ശേഷം ഒരിക്കൽപ്പോലും നടപ്പിലാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല. [1]

സായുധമോഷണം, [2] കൊലപാതകം, [3] മനുഷ്യക്കടത്ത്, [4] എന്നീ കുറ്റങ്ങൾക്ക് വധശിക്ഷ നൽകാൻ നിയമമുണ്ട്.

വധശിക്ഷ നിറുത്തലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമങ്ങൾ നടന്നുവരികയാണ്. [5] 2011 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 18-ന് ബെനിൻ പാർലമെന്റ് വധശിക്ഷ നിറുത്തലാക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ഉടമ്പടി (Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights) അംഗീകരിച്ചു. [6]
