Penelitian ini ditujukan mengetahui pengaruh bahasa Taeq terhadap bahasa Inggris dalam pola penekanan kata yang diproduksi oleh penutur bahasa Taeq padajurusan bahasa Inggris. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan kuisioner terhadap mahasiswa bahasa Inggris. Kuisioner tersebut terdiri atas daftar kata-kata dalam bahasa Inggris yang terdiri atas kata benda dan kata kerja. Semua partisipan diminta untuk mengucapkan daftar kosa kata tersebut dan direkam sesuai denganpetunjukyang telah diberikan kepada mereka. Setelah itu, data dianalisis dengan mengidentifikasi pola stress yang diucapakan oleh partisipan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penutur bahasa Taeq mengucapakan kosakata bahasa Inggris dengan cara yang berbeda. Mereka terkadang mengucapakan kata-kata yang bersilabel dua dan tiga tidak tepat. Seharusnya pola stres terjadi pada silabel pertama tetapi mereka menyebutnya pada silabel kedua, begitu pun pada silabel berikutnya. Hal itu disebabkan karena pengaruh bahasa pertama (L1) yakni bahasa Taeq yang memiliki tekanan atau dialek yang berbeda dengan bahasa Inggris. Penutur bahasa Taeq terkadang salah dalam mengeja ketika mereka mengucapkan kata-kata dalam bahasa Inggris. Abstract This research is aimed to know the influence of Taeq to English on the stress pattern produced by Taeq speakers at English department. The data is collected by distributing questionnares to English students. The questionnaires contain vocabulary lists consisting of verb and noun words. All participants are requested to pronounce those words in accordance with the instructions given to them. Their voices are recorded. Then, data are analyzed to identify the stress patterns pronounced by participants. The results show that Taeq speakers pronounce the English words on different stress patterns. They sometimes pronounce it incorrectly, in particular two and three syllable. Actually, the stress patterns occur on the first sylabbel but they pronounce it on the second syllable. It also occurs in two syllable. It happens because they are influenced by their native language (L1), Taeq that has different accent with English. Additionally, they also misspell when they pronounce the English words.
