@Hog Farm: I'm back. Anything I can do to help with Battle of Poison Spring? I looked for maps at LOC Civil War Maps, but did not find much. There is a hand-drawn map of Steele's route from a museum at Camden, but I doubt it can be used. I was hoping to find something that showed troop positions, but could not find anything. I had no luck on maps, either. If you have the time, I'd appreciate it if you could give it a quick skim just to make sure the context is sufficient/everything seems OK. @Hog Farm: A quick check using MS Word: In the Prelude section: "forgaing" is used twice instead of "foraging", and "totalled" is used instead of "totaled". Also, Union "soliders" is used instead of Union "soldiers". TwoScars (talk) 18:28, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In the Battle section: "roadline" is used, but I think it should be "road line". In the Massacre section I would use " soldiers' " instead of " soldiers's ". Reading the article: In the Background section: "By early 1864, it was unlikely that the Confederacy would win the American Civil War against the Union was slimming and the Confederate situation in Arkansas was particularly bad." Probably been changed multiple times. Maybe "By early 1864, the likelihood that the Confederacy would win the American Civil War was slimming, and the Confederate situation in Arkansas was particularly bad." Not sure if important: I did not know that the Arkansas River divides Arkansas in half—I looked it up. I wondered about how many men Steele had until I saw Footnote A and jumped down to the order of battle—three divisions? The Initial maneuvers subsection under the Battle section is where I wish there was a map that showed all the unit's positions—instead of the American Battlefield Protection Program map. Under the Confederate attacks section: "While trying to reach the 18th Iowa to order the regiment to be reposition, Williams's horse" has one and a half issues. The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation says The Associated Press Stylebook recommends just an apostrophe: It's Tennessee Williams' best play. But most other authorities endorse Williams's. Williams's means “belonging to Williams.” It is not the plural form of Williams. People's names become plural the way most other words do. So "Williams's" is probably OK. The full issue is "reposition". Either "While trying to reach the 18th Iowa to order the regiment to be repositioned, Williams's horse" or "While trying to reach the 18th Iowa to order the repositioning of the regiment, Williams's horse".... Under Confederate attacks: "terrain was reached that the guns could not be taken over and continued for Camden" is probably OK, but at first I thought the "taken over" part was about gaining control of the guns instead of being able to haul the guns over the terrain. Probably not necessary, might be good for people not familiar with Kansas. Under the Massacre section: "history of hatred between Missourians and Kansans that dated back to Bleeding Kansas." ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
