During August we have translated Disease and it is now live in more than 60 different languages! To help us focus on African languages Rubric has donated a large number of articles in languages we haven't previously reached–so a shout out them, and Ian Henderson from Rubric who's joined us here at Wikipedia. We're very happy for our continued collaboration with both Rubric and Translators without Borders!
At Wikimania there were so many enthusiastic people jumping at the chance to help out the Medical Translation Project, but unfortunately not all of them knew how to get started. That is why we've been spending considerable time writing and improving guides! They are finally live, and you can find them at our home-page!

We're proud to announce a new sign up page at WP:MTSIGNUP! The old page was getting cluttered and didn't allow you to speficy a role. The new page should be easier to sign up to, and easier to navigate so that we can reach you when you're needed!
Style guides for translations
Translations are of both full articles and shorter articles continues. The process where short articles are chosen for translation hasn't been fully transparent. In the coming months we hope to have a first guide, so that anyone who writes medical or health articles knows how to get their articles to a standard where they can be translated! That's why we're currently working on medical good lede criteria! The idea is to have a similar peer review process to good article nominations, but only for ledes.

In July, 18 full article translations went live (WP:RTT), and an additional 6 simplified versions went live (WP:RTTS)!
We have a number of new lead integrators into Dutch, Polish, Arabic and Bulgarian, with more to come in smaller languages! (Find them here old sign up page)

We are also very proud to introduce new roles and guides which allows people to help who don't have medical knowledge too!

The report requires major fixes! I have just copied an entire article which was probably the notes written by someone from the press. I am in the process of cleaning up and translating the rest of the report. I will have to correct the typos and fix grammatical errors after I have done the translation. ഏഷ്യൻ വിക്കിസമൂഹങ്ങളുടെ പരസ്പര സഹകരണം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കാനായി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മാസം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന തിരുത്തൽയജ്ഞമാണ് വിക്കിപീഡിയ എഷ്യൻ മാസം. നവംബർ 2016 ലാണ് ഈ പരിപാടി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നത്. മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ ഏഷ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ലേഖനങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണവും ആധികാരികതയും വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതും ഈ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഉദ്ദേശമാണ്. 2015 ൽ 7000 ലേഖനങ്ങൾ 43 വിവിധ ഭാഷകളിലായി വിവിധ വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ ചേർക്കാൻ ഈ പദ്ധതി മൂലം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.
The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.
To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.
The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. WikiConference India 2023: Program submissions and Scholarships form are now open
Dear Wikimedian,
We are really glad to inform you that WikiConference India 2023 has been successfully funded and it will take place from 3 to 5 March 2023. The theme of the conference will be Strengthening the Bonds.
We also have exciting updates about the Program and Scholarships.

You may already know that the third iteration of WikiConference India is happening in March 2023. We have recently opened scholarship applications and session submissions for the program. As it is a huge conference, we will definitely need help with organizing. As you have been significantly involved in contributing to Wikimedia projects related to Indic languages, we wanted to reach out to you and see if you are interested in helping us. WikiConference India 2023: Open Community Call and Extension of program and scholarship submissions deadline

Thank you for supporting Wiki Conference India 2023. We are humbled by the number of applications we have received and hope to learn more about the work that you all have been doing to take the movement forward. In order to offer flexibility, we have recently extended our deadline for the Program and Scholarships submission- you can find all the details on our Meta Page.
COT is working hard to ensure we bring together a conference that is truly meaningful and impactful for our movement and one that brings us all together. With an intent to be inclusive and transparent in our process, we are committed to organizing community sessions at regular intervals for sharing updates and to offer an opportunity to the community for engagement and review. Following the same, we are hosting the first Open Community Call on the 3rd of December, 2022. On 21st Sept 2024, we had our user group monthly meeting held online at Jitsi platform.
User:Gnoeee started the meetup welcoming everyone and shared the agenta for this months meetup as listed in the event page.
User:Ranjithsiji shared the UG's grant proposal details and the plans for upcoming months.
User:Ranjithsiji shared his experience in attending IndiaFOSS along with Naveen Francis. Both of them represented the reperentative of Wikimedians of Kerala UG at IndiaFOSS. User:Gnooee's workshop on OpenRefine has been accepted for IndiaFOSS, but due to his absence for personal reasons the workshop was taken by User:Ranjithsiji and Ayushi, an Outreachy intern who has worked with the OpenRefine team.
User:Gnoeee has been reminded about the last date to submit the Technical Consultations form that was shared in the Village pump, mailing list and other social media platforms.
On 12th Oct 2024, we had our user group monthly meeting held online at Google meet. 17 members attended the meeting.
User:Gnoeee started the meeting welcoming everyone and shared the agenda for this months meetup as listed in the event page.
User:Gnoeee shared the updates about Wiki Loves Onam campaign, highlighting that over 4,000 files were uploaded by more than 100 participants between September 1st and 30th.
User:VSj (WMF) shared the updates about Sancharam project. During the discussion, participants actively contributed by sharing valuable feedback and raising questions to clarify specific aspects of the initiative. Challenges were noted, including technical support for uploading, handling licenses, and managing the content.
User:Ranjithsiji shared an update on organizing Wikidata birthday with a community gathering and workshop in Kerala, with the potential to collaborate with the OpenStreetMap (OSM) community for greater engagement and shared learning opportunities.
User:Gnoeee shared an update on Wikidata's 12th Birthday celebrations led by the Wikimedians of Kerala UG on Wikidata Oct 13th-19th. One week focusing on improving hospital and health center data.
User:Manojk shared an update on the WikiConference Kerala that is planned to be hosted at Thrissur during the month of December. More details will be shared soon. Also shared update on up-coming Malayalam Wikisource activities.
During the discussion, participants explored the idea to submit a bid for hosting the WCI 2025 in Kerala. The participants expressed their support for the idea, and decided to form a dedicated group was to work on the bid proposal and submit the bid for Kochi location.
