Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) latarbelakang dilaksanakannya tradisi mepasah di Setra Wayah Desa Trunyan, Kintamani, Bangli; (2) pelaksanaan tradisi mepasah di Setra Wayah Desa Trunyan, Kintamani, Bangli dan (3) potensi yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber pembelajaran Sejarah dari tradisi mepasah di Setra Wayah Desa Trunyan, Kintamani, Bangli. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yaitu: (1) penentuan lokasi ;(2) penentuan informan; (3) pengumpulan data (observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumen);(4) teknik penjamin keaslian data (triangulasi data,triangulasi metode) ;(5) teknik analisis data dan (6) metode penulisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Latar belakang masyarakat Desa Trunyan melaksanakan tradisi mepasah dapat dilihat dari beberapa factor yaitu faktor historis, faktor keyakinan atau kepercayaan, faktor upacara ritual. (2) proses pelaksanaan tradisi Mepasah yaitu Upacara Mepasah dilaksanakan pada dua tempat yakni di areal rumah pemiliki jenasah (rumah duka) dan di Setra Wayah, pelaksanaan tradisi mepasah menggunakan peralatan atau sarana penunjang kegiatan di antaranya yaitu: bakti angkebnasi (sesajen),ambuh (kramas), boreh (lulur), pemebek (daun lemo yang dibakar), sigsig (tapal gigi), kelatkat (anyaman bambu),lante(pembalut jenasah), ancak saji (anyaman bambu untuk melindungi jenasah dari binatang), sundin (lampu),buki (lampu pengantar jenasah), rerebu (pandan dipotong kecil-kecil yang dipercaya mampu mengusir roh jahat), tradisi mepash melibatkan tiga kelompok atau Manggalaning Yadnya yaitu: Sang Sadaka, yaitu pendeta, Sang Widya, Tukang Banten, Sang Yajamana, umat yang menyelenggarakan upacara; (3)Aspek-aspek yang terdapat pada Tradisi Mepasah di Desa Trunyan yang bisa dikembangkan menjadi sumber belajar sejarah yaitu Aspek bentuk fisik bangunan (patung Ratu Sakti Pancaring Jagat),aspek sejarah (historis), aspek gotong goyong dan kebersamaan.Kata Kunci : Tradisi, Mepasah , Setra Wayah , Sumber Belajar Sejarah This study aimed to determine (1) The background of the implementation of mepasah tradition in Setra Wayah Trunyan Village, Kintamani, Bangli; (2) The implementation of mepasah tradition in Setra Wayah Trunyan Village, Kintamani, Bangli; (3) The potential that can be used as a source of learning history from mepasah tradition in Setra Wayah Trunyan Village, Kintamani, Bangli. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, namely: (1) location determination technique; (2) the determining of informant technique; (3) data collection techniques (observation, interviews and study of documents); (4) the guarantor of data authenticity techniques (data triangulation, method triangulation); (5) data analysis technique; (6) writing technique. The results showed that (1) Background of the Trunyan villagers implement mepasah tradition can be seen from several factors: historical factors, belief or faith factors, ritual factors. (2) the process of implementation Mepasah tradition that is Mepasah ceremony held at two places namely in the area of home owner's body (the funeral home) and at Setra Wayah, implementation of mepasah tradition is using equipment or facilities to support activities such as: bakti angkeb nasi (offerings),ambuh (shampooing), boreh (scrubs), pemebek (lemo leaves were burned), sigsig (toothpaste), kelatkat (woven bamboo), lante (pads bodies), ancak saji (woven bamboo to protect the bodies from animals), sundih (lamp),buki (bodies conductor lamp), rerebu (pandan leaves cut into small pieces which is believed to ward off evil spirits), mepasah tradition involves three groups or Manggalaning Yadnya: Sang sadaka, the pastor, Sang Widya, Tukang Banten, Sang Yajamana, the people who organize ceremony; (3) The aspects contained in Mepasah Tradition in Trunyan village could be developed into a source of learning the history of that aspect of the physical form of the building (the statue of Ratu Sakti Pancaring Jagat), aspects of history (historical), aspects of cooperation and togetherness.keyword : tradition, mepasah, Setra wayah , sources of learning education
