SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI MEMBRAN KOMPOSIT KITOSAN- HIDROKSI APATITBERIKATAN SILANG SEBAGAI GUIDED TISSUE REGENERATION (GTR). Dalam kerangkamempersiapkan bahan biomaterial untuk guided tissue regeneration (GTR), telah dilakukan sintesis membrankitosan –hidroksiapatit (HA) berikatan silang dan karakterisasi sifat fisiko-kimianya. HA dengan variasi berat (2-6 g) dicampurkan dengan larutan kitosan 4%, diproses hingga berbentuk komposit membran dan di crosslinkdalam larutan natrium sulfit (Na2SO3). Perubahan struktur kimia dan morphologi membran dikarakterisasimengggunakan fourier transform infra red (FTIR) dan scanning electron microscope (SEM). Hasil evaluasimenunjukkan membran dapat menyerap air relatif cepat (5 menit) dan tidak terjadi peningkatan penyerapan airdengan meningkatnya waktu. Meningkatnya berat HA menyebabkan meningkatnya biodegradasi membran,sebaliknya kekuatan tarik dan elongasi dari membran menurun. Hasil analisis FTIR menunjukkan membranKitosan-HA berikatan silang. Membran Kitosan-HA selayaknya dapat dipertimbangkan untuk digunakansebagai membran GTR (Guided Tissue Regeneration) dalam bidang periodontal. AbstractIn the preparation of biomaterials to be useful for guided tissue regeneration (GTR), the chitosan (CS)-hydroxyapatite (HA) crosslinked membrane has been synthesized and characterization its physico-chemical.HA with varying weight ( 2- 6 g) was mixed with 4% CS solution and processed to composite membrane,and then crosslinking with sodium sulfite (Na2SO3). Chemical structure and morphology of membraneswere characterized using Fourier Transform Infra Red spectrophotometer (FTIR) and Scanning ElectronMicroscope (SEM) The results showed that the membrane capable to absorb water relatively fast (5 min)and stable with the increase of time. With increasing of HA content, the biodegradation of membranesincrease. In contrast, the tensile strength and elongation at break of membranes decrease. FTIR spectrashowed a crosslinking CS-HA membrane. The CS-HA composite membrane could be considered to be usedas GTR (Guided Tissue Regeneration ) membrane in periodontal.
