WP:REFSPAM at Agricultural value chain

Hi! I saw you undid my revert of spam at this article. I saw your reasoning for this revert, and respectfully disagree with it for reason that go beyond the limited context of that article. If you look at that new user's history, all she did was add links to this article in various articles. This is WP:REFSPAM, and cannot be tolerated even if that link is a publication from a non-profit. The fact that her username ressembles the first name and initial of the author of that article is even more egregious.

Still, it might be the case that in this article, the source added by the new user truly drove the point home at "Technology helps agriculture" better than any other source in that section. It would thus be ideal for that new source to be used to support only the thesis statement of the section, without delving into its arguments or examples in the rest of the section. Well, WP:REFSPAM does end by saying that "Citation spamming is a subtle form of spam and should not be confused with legitimate good-faith additions intended to verify article content and help build the encyclopedia." It certainly would have been preferable in this case if the editor had added some content but people who first go to WP to add a citation are potentially new long-term editors. ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
