License tagging for Image:Gert steegmans.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gert steegmans.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:05, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the link to the source for the 2026 China stuff. Having read it, it does not change my opinion of the 2026 article. The FIFA vice-president mentioned is clearly talking in a hypothetical; he will probably not even be in FIFA when the decision is made. Accordingly, I have decided not to remove the PROD notice; if you wish to, that is your right and I will take it to AfD instead. With regards to 2022, I am deciding whether or not to keep it; for the moment, I will not PROD it, but if 2026 gets deleted easily I might nominate it. Batmanand | Talk17:20, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I must admit that I have not found the exact correct spelling myself. Three things make me conclude the spelling is probably without the space:
Most official sites mention his name without a space, as for instance letour.fr
Google, which automatically searches for errors in queries, always ends up saying: Did you mean: Christian Vandevelde? when I type Vande Velde. This means that Christian Vandevelde is far more used than Christian Vande Velde on the internet.
Last but not least, Vandevelde comes undoubtedly from Dutch, if he was Dutch or Flemish, the spelling of his name would be Vandevelde or Van De Velde. Both meaning 'From the fields'. Vande Velde is however an unexistent name as Vande is not a word in Dutch and to put the space there is unnatural.
It would be "van de Velde" in Dutch (small caps), I don't see that as an argument that the name is has been Americanized one way or the other. If you quote the name, Google has 60k for "Christian Vande velde" and 100k for "Christian Vandevelde", not exactly decisive. So with regard to the last point, authoritative sources, I'd put his employer at the top of the list of those I have seen. They write his paycheck :-) --Per Abrahamsen13:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, but also no certainty there, the one 'writing' the paycheck is most of the times not the webmaster and typing errors in foreign names are easily made. For now, I can only say that also the German and Dutch wiki use Vandevelde, not Vande Velde. I'll keep searching for sources. --Pelotastalk13:40, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mmm... thanks...
...for the cupcakes! Never feel like you have angered anyone by disagreeing with the rest of the people on an AfD. And even if someone was mad, who cares? It's an AfD, not a life-or-death situation -- no one will die because 2022 FIFA World Cup will get deleted, despite a few people objecting. I was really suprised to find the cupcakes on my user page, but thanks anyway! Keep up the good work, and continue to speak up for what you believe in. Hi, I've just read a bit of the article which seems nice at first sight though if i would have a comment it would be that the article seems to go to deep in the details. Actually I'm not quite sure this topic deserves a full article. Maybe including it into a broader "Bribery in Belgian football" could be an idea. It's been a long time i wanted to write stuff about "what's wrong in Belgian football" (bribery, the weak FA which takes suspicious and weak decisions, the lack of money and modern infrastructures, etc) but right now i think making an article on bribery in belgian football is a good compromise. I'll try to help you on that in the future if you think it's a good idea. Julien Tuerlinckx22:18, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was originally just thinking of translating (from the Dutch wikipedia) the final paragraph I haven't done yet and that was it. I have not thought of the 'deepness' of the article or the fact if the topic deserves a full article, but maybe you're right. However, I don't really know a lot about other facets of gambling and bribing in belgian soccer. --Pelotastalk23:41, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No Problem, I'm not sure if it is entirely right though, the translation I made from Dutch back to English is correct, but I'm not sure about the original English to Dutch. "Cool" does not in any way resemble "Tight". --Pelotastalk12:01, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did you know? was updated. On 31 July, 2006, a fact from the article Canadian caper, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Hi Pelotas, Welcome, but how come that you are working on the lux Wiki? -- Myriam
Well, I'm not planning on editing much on the lux wiki but I will probably have to add some links to pages in other languages which is why I created an account. Although I know French, German and Dutch, I dont speak the luxembourgish languagemix so probably I will not be creating and major pages soon. --Pelotastalk23:05, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, we have many problems with the vandalism of the America pages and the Peru/Chile pages for some reason. This is why they are protected. But they should only be semi-protected, that is protected to unregistered users, or new users. You should be able to edit it within a day or two. As far as links go, if you see any other wiki, please change the link to Civitates Foederatae Americae, as this is the proper latin name for the US. Anything else?--Ioshus 17:40, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Penalty goal - adding (pen) is standard on most sports websites - the goal is counted as a normal goal, so the icon need not be differnt.
Missed penalty - these are not included in most match summaries.
As for the alternating grey layout - iut is only your opinion that it looks crappy now, but it is not set to white - it is set to transparent. We shouldn't hard-code background colours outisde of the stylesheet. ed g2s • talk 12:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

True if you are viewing the article on the Wikipedia website using the default skin. If someone else runs a mirror with a different background - or you customise your skin to use a different background, then there is a big difference between white and transparent. ed g2s • talk12:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I can agree that it is just my opinion, but still between white and transparent is not much difference is there? ;) Thanks for the icons, too bad about the missed penalties. :s --Pelotastalk14:37, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, calm down.. I thought you were talking about this edit. The capitalisation of "results" is simply wrong. The hyphen is open to debate but article titles tend not to use them. "(... August 2006)" or "August 2006 ..." are much more common ways of date grouping (see here for examples). ed g2s • talk12:47, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Pelotas, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
Thanks for your info. Honestly I do not know for sure if Belgian names always capitalize "Van" or "De". It just appears to me that they are almost always capitalized from the Belgian names I see. I know that it's different from the Dutch, which always use lowercase "van" and "de". As for why I left the comment, this is in response to the previous edits of Stephan Van Der Heyden and Jelle Van Damme. The editors moved the pages from capital to lowercase letters, and left the comments Interjectives should be written without capitals and 'van' in between names needs to be written small, which are certainly incorrect for Belgian names. I guess the editors confused them with Dutch names. As I'm also not 100% correct, I apologize. But it's much more likely that the capitalized "Van" are used in the two names, so I moved them back to its original pages. If there are evidence that the two people use lowercase "van", sure we should move them back. But there aren't, unless we get to see their identity cards, as you suggest. Chanheigeorge00:36, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologise, at least you care! And indeed it is hard to be sure, one can only hope that the names are correctly spelled in the media and work from there, in this case I can say that I don't really know about Van Der Heyden, but Van Damme is commonly spelled with capital letters as part of Anderlecht and the Red Devils. --Pelotastalk09:03, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!

Hi
Hi Pelotas,
Please don't take my user page seriously. I don't really care about those things that much, but I find it a lot better to argue about silly things like soccer and the metric systems than war or terrorism or abortion or other things that people get really upset about. If it offends you, I'll take it down. But since you're a Simpsons fan: Can you tell me where I got the title: "These things I believe?" -- Mwalcoff00:08, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About the simpsons thinghy, it's when Homer has the right answer to a radio show question. Is it not the title of a Rory Calhoun (?) album? --Pelotastalk00:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Belgian League Results
Hi Pelotas. I see you're an ardent supporter of Belgian football and have put a fair bit of work on the league here. Just to say that we are using a different template for Serie A results if you want to have a look at it. The 16 team version is being used for Portugese league.
Just to say aswell, that we have it setup on the Serie A page so that if you click on a result in the table you get taken directly to result on the detailed results page. Handy for picking out one result in particular instead of trawling through pages and pages. Niall12318:27, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I've noticed it already, but I believe that the table can be too wide for the people with smaller screens. I would like to see each teamname in the top bar shortened to three letters max. But good work nonetheless, making the results clickable however is a very good idea. I've already copied the idea of a clickable number of goals per team in the standings table. --Pelotastalk21:01, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm guessing that you're using Firefox. If you look at the table using IE, the names of the clubs along the top are shown as vertical. I've had this discussion already with another person. Here's a screen shot as how it looks on my screen using IE. Screen Shot. Hopefully they'll sort out firefox to fix this. Niall12321:48, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My own beliefs on Kosovo and Albania really have very little to do with what I am doing. I am stub sorting. Because of the Albanian nationality law, any ethnic Albanian from any country can be a citizen of the Republic of Albania. However, it is clear from his birth that he is a Kosovar Albanian. The Albania-bio-stub is for people from the Republic of Albania, not any ethnic Albanian person.--Thomas.macmillan18:19, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jupiler League.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jupiler League.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Age tag for the the fb in, fb si and fb out templates
I'm not sure what you mean by extra tag, but in the bottom of the squad information and players in / out tables there are explanation about the age: end of the season for squad information and signing day for players in / out. So, for example, if you take a look at Arsenal_F.C._season_2007-08#In code, you'll see something like this age={{age|1985|4|18|2007|5|25}}. I hope that's a solution. If you have a better solution, please lets discuss it. Regards. --ClaudioMB (talk) 16:39, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If we could specify a date for all players just once, that would be great for Squad information table (for player in / out is better use the day of the signing). I don't know how to do it, if you know it, please, could you do it for Arsenal_F.C._season_2007-08#Squad_information. I guess the date should be the date of last match of the season (11 May2008). --ClaudioMB (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Minor edit marking
Hi - maybe you don't realise you need to change your preferences ...
Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you.
Regards --Matildatalk01:28, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
okidoki... i just have a different idea of minor. I've always used it except when I added at least 5 lines of meaningful text. --Pelotastalk03:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
User page help
Dear Pelotas...I see that you have requested help in getting your user page in order and am willing to help you. My suggestions will not be full of a lot of flashy formatting. In my opinion, the less a user page looks like a Wikipedia page, the harder it is to read and navigate. You can go to my user page to see how an infobox can handle most of the routine information which you can expand upon if you so desire in the body of your user page.
To keep this conversation all in one place, you can respond on your talk page here. However, I ask that you put {{Talkback|Pelotas|User page help}} on my talk page to alert me to your response. Either way, I would like to hear back from you.
Oh, that's nice, but Finns already offered to renew my page here. However, that was in April/May 2008 and I haven't heard from him/her since. :s About your ideas, I like having a user page which does not look like a traditional wikipedia article at all, just to show the difference. Your page does look nice though, maybe if I write more about myself I could make it look better too. But I would at first thought choose a user page like this or this. --Pelotastalk17:23, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Pelotas, I am adamantly against such pages. To me they are an eyesore. I prefer going with the K.I.S.S. principle when designing a user page. Many of the flashy user pages have so many redundancies that they become insulting. I know where the links to the user's talk page, contributions, and e-mail are. (Talk page link on top, the latter two in the toolbox.) You are invited to check out this template to help get you started. I wish you the best of luck, but I will not design such pages. Have a nice day! - LA @ 17:57, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I made the change because of the following reasons:
Better access to a certain result, in correspondance to the unwritten "create easy access to every fact" rule
Alphabetical sorting is broad consensus in almost all UEFA season articles for this season, especially in the top leagues
However, it would be okay if the edit would be reverted, provided that there is consensus (either already reached or to be built in the future) on sorting the results by last year's position. Hockey-holic (talk) 15:51, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Listen, the thing is that Oleh, I suspect, was not fully aware of citizenship laws of Ukraine and I think that people who let him to obtain a dual-citizenship was under-quilified as they failed to warn him about this issue. In Ukraine recently a newly naturalized Serbian Marco Devic had to give up his previous citizenship in order to play for Ukraine. It's a big issue as one needs to think not twice, but make a final decision whether it is worth to give up one's citizenship for the other country's. Him thinking that he has a dual citizenship would that truly be correct? His dual citizenship does not hold any ground as it is not recognized by his native country. Putting a Ukrainian flag only adds a confusion to that issue. Yes, he is truly a native Ukrainian and his last name can not get any more Ukrainian. However, he is a naturalized Belgian citizen and at his age there is no really a reason for him to change it back. Therefore consider him as Ukrainian somewhat discrimatory as by law he is an accepted Belgian citizen. On personal note, I feel bad that he was not given a single chance to play on the international level as he truly desrves it. And, in my opinion, Ukraine national really needs such players. Pelotas, do not take my message personally as I try to make a point. Yaschuk could easily play for Belgian national, but he is being a stuborn jackass. In his situation that would be the way show his skills. But if he prefers his pricipals over his career or a chance to make a national team then it's his personal issue. Source for goalscorers (Jupiler League 2008-09) needed
Hi Pelotas,
first of all, thanks a lot for your work on Belgian First Division 2008–09, especially with all those goalscorers. However, there is a minor issue existing. Is there a reliable source for the complete list? I'm asking this because there has been some trouble lately over at the Serbian Superliga 2008–09 article. A couple of anon editors were edit warring about details in a list similar to the one on the Belgian article, but with one fundemental difference - there exists no source at all. As a result, the number of goals in the table (307) is not in tune with the number of goals credited for all scorers (304), so I had to issue a warning on the talk page about WP:V and its consequences. All of this would certainly not have happened if there had been a reliable source.
So, in order to prevent those... I don't know how to call them... from arguing "But there is also a unsourced list of scorers on the Belgian article, yet it goes unsanctioned" - could you please add a source to your list? Ideally, it should be something similar to this (German Bundesliga) from either the Belgian association or another reliable source.
Done. Although I'll be honest, I just added the three most used sites by myself when I want to look up any information about the league, instead of veryfying the wikipedia content with those three sites. I do not use them to update the goal scorer list, because if you investigate those closely, then different sites will always give different results. So how do I know it is right? Well, I have a huge excel sheet in which I add each and every goal scorer in each match played. Once you have the list it's no so much work to update it every week, I even have more trouble with keeping the length of the columns the same ;) --Pelotastalk20:45, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Soccer-holic and I are trying to improve league articles in general, especially when talking about colors used in league standings. We are thinking that codes (colors) should be unified and used in the same way in all articles. So take a look at this Soccer-holic's subpage: User:Soccer-holic/League season article, which explains parts which every league articles should consist of, as well as using the colors in the right order and code. Please leave your comments and improvements (if needed) so we can take the final proposal to the community on Wikipedia:WikiProject Football. SonjiCeli (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can see where this unified color scheme would be useful indeed, maybe we should make a standard template which explains the colors, as they did for formula 1 here (It is added as a key for instance here). Also, in the standings by round we should create unified templates there also, as for instance the color scheme for the Spainish league (here) is completely different from the standard one here and the colours should probably be linked to the ones chosen before... --Pelotastalk15:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 2009-10 Belgian Division
Sorry, my bad. I simply overlooked the update date. On the other hand, consider a restriction of the section (as it is the WikiProject standard) to the best ten scorers plus, if there aren't too many, those who have the same amount of goals as the 10th-best scorer. The Wikipedia policy behind this is WP:NOT#STATS. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head...08:11, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I've noticed that you are creating new articles about living persons but are not including references. While I appreciate your efforts to improve Wikipedia's coverage of football, articles need to have references so the information can be verified and to establish the notability of the subject of the article. I expect that you are using some type of reference (such as www.vi.nl, www.playerhistory or guardian.touch-line.com) to create the article, so please just add it. You can check how I did it on the Denis Odoi article, or feel free to ask me questions if you need help. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 13:25, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Former World Cup matches
Hello. My name is Edson Ortolan (from Brazil). Another day I suggested to add in some place (new article or new entry in another page) the former matches between the teams of the Fifa World Cup 10. I listed all plays until Group D. The reference is the Wikipedia.
I don't know how the Wikipedia works to these contribuitions. I didn't know about signature, address and other things. Example: must I let my email in the message ? Thanks in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.0.123.234 (talk) 15:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Edson, I'm not quite sure what you are asking, but in theory you could just ask what you want on each page. If it's correct meaningful information, somewhat structured and in theory following the wikipedia guidelines, then you cannot do anything wrong. If you do, someone will correct it anyway. In this case, you could for instance add the info on pages 2010 FIFA World Cup Group A through 2010 FIFA World Cup Group H, as a section at the top, or for each match individually within the article. Anyone can edit wikipedia, that's the basic idea! :) So you do not need do put your address or email anywhere. If you create a (free) account however, then you avoid problems with blocked pages (Sometimes this happens because many unregistered users try to ruin pages). Now whether you create an account or not, when posting on talk pages, you should sign your comment by putting ~~~~, this automatically changes into your ip address (or nickname) and adds the time of posting. If you have more questions, feel free to ask! Pelotastalk16:08, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I understand. I was curious for search the results between the teams of the 2010 World Cup, because Brazil played against Portugal in 1966 World Cup (Portugal 3 X 1 Brazil) in Round 1 and I rememberd that Portugal beat Korea DPR (5 X 3) in Quarters. So I found all results of the other plays and I wrote one list with them. My question is: is there the possibility to put it in any place (new article, new topic)?
Do you want to see the list ? Thanks.201.0.123.234 (talk) 17:39, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pelotas, I will edit the 2010 FIFA World Group A, but I don't know to put the links because my informatical knowledge is poor. Look at my work. Other argument to remember the importance of the former matches: we are in the 19th FIFA World Cup and we build a tradition and history of the plays and emotions. Thanks.201.82.254.144 (talk) 22:03, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Pelotas. Your text of the Group A is very good !!! If I wrote very well in English (I read and understand very well) and if I had the know-how, I would expand the texts.201.82.254.144 (talk) 23:48, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably too much side information without sticking to the core of the article. You can ask on the discussion page and maybe it can be put back on. I'm thinking that it will only get 'more' though as there are more and more world cups. So maybe it's not the most ideal place. Maybe you could create a new article, somthing like: "frequent fifa world cup matchups" or so... Pelotastalk23:34, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know to make it with the rulers of the Wilipedia (links, flags, fonts etc.). And I didn't find the fourth play between FRA vs. MEX and the third play between ITA vs. CZE. Your texts was cool and can I translate to Portuguese and put in my article? I want to hear your opinion. Thanks, again.201.92.15.84 (talk) 18:13, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pelotas! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. Reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
Since the new season of Belgian First Division introduces new relegation play-off, I wanted to ask you if you could modify the Round-by-round template(s) so the table can display a lighter shade of red for both 15th and 16th place. I would do it myself but I really don't know how. Also, while making these changes (assuming they're possible, of course), it would be great to somehow make a difference between this season's and the previous season's templates so that the 2009-10 RbR table could still keep the darker shade for the 16th position. Finnish League and Cup articles
Hi Pelotas. I am making contact with those Editors that take an active interest in Finnish football on English Wikipedia.
For a long time I have been happy to work on Finnish football on Wikipedia without making contact with other Finnish football enthusiasts - basically I like preparing articles / undertaking tasks that interest me and contact with others has not been important. However recently some of my work was changed by a Wikipedia Reviewer and this has led me to question what approach I should be following and indeed what approach would other Finnish football enthusiasts wish to adopt?
The basic question I am asking is whether Finnish League and Cup articles should have a Finnish or English title or some form of hybrid?
I provide examples below:
Finnish Title
English Title
Hybrid Title
2012 Veikkausliiga
2012 Finnish Championship
2012 Finnish Veikkausliiga
2012 Kolmonen
2012 Finnish Division 3
2012 Finnish Kolmonen
2012 Suomen Cup
2012 Finnish Cup
2012 Finnish Suomen Cup
2012 Suomen Liigacup
2012 Finnish League Cup
2012 Finnish Liigacup
1938 Maakuntasarja
1938 Finnish Division 3
1938 Finnish Maakuntasarja
1954 Suomensarja
1954 Finnish Division 2
1954 Finnish Suomensarja
1970 II divisioona
1970 Finnish Division 2
1970 Finnish II divisioona
1986 III divisioona
1986 Finnish Division 3
1986 Finnish III divisioona
1997 Ykkönen
1997 Finnish Division 1
1997 Finnish Ykkönen
I have read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) and Wikipedia:Article titles but have not reached a firm conclusion yet on the best way forward in establishing a consistent approach. The issue does matter with respect to the corrections I must make to existing pages and the tens of pages yet to be prepared. It could also carry implications for some of the articles that you currently contribute to.
I think that the matter would best be addressed on a proper basis and encourage that the issue is considered on the Talk Page of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Finland task force. If the matter is of concern to you as well, please add your name to the list of participants on the main page.
You may also wish to comment on the project structure that I have prepared.
just wanted to give you a heads up that I have added content for said article. Feel free to expand.
In relation to the creation of new season articles, I would like to ask you to use the {{fb cl2 team}} and {{fb cl3 qr}} series for league tables, plain wikitables for the optional position-by-round tables and a yet to be created template for results boxes. The reason behind this is the consensus to abolish the fb team and fb competition templates at some future point as these provide too much unnecessary clutter to the database; see also WT:FOOTY#"fb" template system for the full discussion. Please amend the other season articles to be created accordingly; however, you do not need to take care of any already existing articles for now, as these are planned to be changed by a bot.

Sources for "Bruges Derby" results in 2nd division?
Hello
I've noticed you added the results of the derbies played in 2nd Division on the French page. I've searched several days long for that but couldn't find them anywhere. Please, could you tell me where you took them from? :D
Haha I also searched for days :) I asked for it on the supporters forum of Cercle Brugge. You need to register first, then you can see it at http://cerclebruggeforum.be/index.php?showtopic=745232. I also tried to find it on http://www.bsdb.be/, where it's not in the database, however I asked the owner and he promised to look it up for me. He says he should be able to get the data so I expect it to come in this week. If it's the same as the other one then I guess the sources are valid although I'm already pretty sure they are. --Pelotastalk|contribs11:08, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since you will understand my Flemish English: by this I give the pipe to Maarten! :) I think there is few I can still adapt or add in the main article from the Belgian national football team. Maybe I will be able to upload a couple of pictures I would really want to upload for this page (depends on copyright), but we will see that later. I have never been uploading, maybe I will ask for help.
True, I could adapt the history (can be extended a lot) or work on some of the "loose ends" you proposed. For me it is fine to put some energy in listing up the matches every now and then, so we could make appointments about who would enlist which period. But the upcoming days, I will leave the Red Devils page like it is (or pages related to it) - I satisfied my edit hunger and hopefully also the curiosity of people who want to know something more about the reviving Belgian squad!
As you see I am able to write something, but I wouldn't know how to comment on those results (as you proposed). Simply indicating if it went well or wrong with the Belgian team, and memorable matches to indicate? Purely results discussion seems a bit boring to me, but often in football it is all you can do if you have no background.
I am not worrying (yet) about matches that count or not. There is no discussion that international friendlies, qualifiers and tournament matches always count, but what with matches against teams that are not countries or not official countries, play-off matches, matches from de jaren stillekes with very few info, ... ?
In upcoming weeks I will make sure to make myself a user page like you did, and we can see how we proceed.
Hey! Yeah, I added Šabala to List of Belgian football transfers winter 2013–14, because he was transferred to Club Brugge officially on 29 January. This was confirmed by Skonto FC director and the player himself that day and a day later also by Club Brugge. Although, it was stated that Šabala would be loaned to his former club Skonto till July 1, 2014. I think that the correct way would be to add him to the Belgian winter transfers in the IN section of Club Brugge and then in the OUT section that he is currently on loan to Skonto FC. I similarly did in List of Latvian football transfers winter 2013-14.
http://skontofc.com/?zina=491 (Latvian) - Skonto FC webpage (the underlined phrase states that the contract is signed till 30 June 2018, but till 1 July 2014 he will be on loan to Skonto FC).
When I clicked save page on that medal table I had a brief moment of "wait think I did something wrong", but immediately went back to editing other related pages without giving it a second look. Thanks for fixing my brainfart :D --— WardMuylaert (talk) 11:50, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

with regards to Template:Belgian federal government: Currently it's still the Di Rupo government as the new Michel government has not taken the oath yet. Therefore I have returned the content to the Di Rupo government but have placed the Michel government as a hidden text. Only when the government officially has taken the oath, then Di Rupo part should be deleted and the hidden text be made visible. But you can update the hidden text of course, as soon as further names and departments for the Michel government are announced. -- fdewaele, 10 October 2014.

Great job on the article so far! :)
I already thanked for that, but never totally ceased working at the main article and side articles. For the main page, at the moment a GA review is ongoing. May I introduce you to Sygmoral? He is a specialist in layouts and wikipedia coding. Also the insights given by the current GA reviewer, MarshalN20 (a triple FA editor) have been very welcome to move the article forward. All help is still welcome, I invite you to take a look for suggestions.
But just to inform you, I have some more ideas and there are still a lot of stuff to do regarding the team:
Have you had any response yet? I find this also a bit of a burden, besides, the RBFA does recognise matches that were not official according to FIFA in last years...
Finally, an easier one, we also need a template such as Template:England national football team to link al these pages together and maybe sort out all the categories too.
Good that you started it - I kept it updated, have a look.
I sure do! Belgium NFT and it related articles are a never finished matter, from which strangely enough it feels like we did already most of the work! :) You too, have fun in the articles you are busy with. Kareldorado (talk) 09:29, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Qed237: I mistakenly thought that was the official code since there is no "u" in Romania, not when written in English nor Romanian. However since you asked I went looking around and on Comparison of IOC, FIFA, and ISO 3166 country codes I can also see that ROU is the official one... I don't see any reason to use the French name abbeviation but hey what am I going to do about it. I also always change "NLD" to "NED" and "DEU" to "GER" but those seem ok in IOC/FIFA context. Slovenia seems questionable too, I use "SLO" but "SVN" is FIFA style... oh well. Pelotastalk|contribs22:04, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Recently I removed one section (Draw) you added on this page because I think this is redundant with other sections on the page. In the edit summary you said "+ pots" so I think you want to put the pots on the page, but the list you posted is the draw result of group stage (which called "Pool" in English by IKF). Geektime alert for me... Looking through each individual race report on the UCI website, and see what the collation brings up. Lyra
Lierse will merge with Oosterzonen not with Lyra. So the name change of the latter is not yet 100% certain.
I know they are stating that the name will change, but it is not 100% certain until the paperwork is finished so I think you are being a bit too hasty?
I have kept the name for the moment, as you mentioned it, however I think it is still too fast since the official documents have not yet been taken care of (even if Lyra itself mentions it on their website). I'll edit the page a bit more but it might be possible you have to revert the changed name.

How was he NOT in the squad for Latvia and Slovenia when he even PLAYED against Latvia. Are you comprehending that this is the squad for the BOTH matches, not for Slovenia only!? Otherwise correct the "squad called up for the qualifying games against Latvia and Slovenia" part and just say that's the squad for Slovenia.
And the difference between him and Trichkovski and Spirovski is that they weren't in the squad at either match. Is it so hard to comprehend?

Belgian First Division A format
Hello, I noticed you contribute to quite a few Belgian football articles, and was wondering if you could help with some confusion I've had regarding the Belgian First Division A format. For play-offs II, what is the format of this season? The article currently says 7th to 16th will be split into 4 groups of 4, with the 4 group winners advancing to the semi-finals. However, I noticed here it is mentioned that play-offs II will be split into 2 groups of 6, with the 2 group winners advancing to a playoff to determine who will compete against the play-off I team. Do you know which is correct? Also, is it correct that the Europa League third qualifying round spot goes to the winner of the regular season by default (unless they qualify for the Champions League or EL group stage as cup winners)? Thanks, S.A. Julio (talk) 23:39, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding the playoffs! :) Just one question, imho it's more clear to use "Championship Playoffs" and "Europa League Playoffs" rather than "I" and "II". In any case if you insist on I and II then the relegation playoffs in division 1B should be changed to III as well. Pelotastalk|contribs15:08, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I don't mind it being changed back, I just had seen the numbering used frequently. Also "Europa League play-offs" seemed a bit confusing since there are two parts, the playoff tournament of 16 teams, and then the actual decisive match against a play-off I team for a Europa League spot. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Jupiler League.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Jupiler League.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Not aware no... where is the managerial section reused in the season articles exactly? (or where is the issue precisely?) Without the "onlyinclude" it breaks the overall Belgian season article :s Pelotastalk|contribs19:07, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed not supposed to be there... not sure how to resolve both problems really. Removal of the onlyinclude only causes a blank space at the overall Belgian season article, seems less severe of an issue while we look for a solution... Pelotastalk|contribs08:47, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I do apologize for using plain text insertions. I found it is the best way like : trigger an alarm bell. This in order to provoke a good correction... from a really English spoken contributor. Take note that new trends in Belgian football is to "buy" a club and then move it on a new location. Federation puts new rule: no more than 30 km between the two concerned stadiums ! Be care also that Belgian Federation authorises some clubs to apply older registred number (exemple OH Louvain and the number 18 former "Stade Louvain" - only one year in higher division). It is very better to maintain differents pages. Friendly. Shanon11 Shanon11 (talk) 13:04, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info Shanon11. So, as I see it, R.A.E.C. Mons (1910) is the old, former, now defunct club from Mons, with matricule 44. R.A.E.C. Mons (2015) is the new, current, active club with matricule 4194 (which will try to buy back the matricule 44 from 2026). Definitely these are distinct clubs and the structure should remain, not merging them. Your example of OH Leuven is totally the same. Oud-Heverlee Leuven indeed took over again matricule 18 (instead of 6142 of F.C. Zwarte Duivels Oud-Heverlee), but it is still not the same as Stade Leuven (the former matricule 18). Not sure where the 30km comes in because Mons, Genvy & Quevy all close to each other, within 30km at least. Pelotastalk|contribs11:05, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
