If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place Re: US Census PopulationHi. The census data that I used in the Texola, Oklahoma article and similar articles came from the U.S. Census Bureau's official site. Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBotSuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun! SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping. If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker. P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 19:45, 21 September 2009 (UTC) Thanks for starting Lake Eucha State ParkI happened across it (via Randompage), and felt moved to expand it (primarily from the lovely, detailed Resource Management Plan that Oklahoma was kind enough to post) (and Google Scholar to index). I'd love your comments (and/or help) on the expansion. Keep up the good work! --Steam Iron 23:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC) This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Atoka Agreement, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://digital.library.okstate.edu/encyclopedia/entries/A/AT004.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:50, 8 May 2010 (UTC) I would like to know if it would be ok with you if I began to do the switch over to the new page design.--Steam Iron 10:09, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Sources at Okie DialectHello, Narthring. You suggested at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Okie Dialect, "The resources that Moorsmur provided seem to be reliable with one or two exceptions." I argued at Talk:Okie Dialect that none of the sources mentioning "Okie dialect" seem to be intended as reliable sources (all are works of humor), while those that are reliable don't describe Oklahoma as a distinct dialect region. I am hoping that you can convince me that there are in fact reliable sources that describe "Oklahoma dialect" as distinct from midlands or inland southern regional dialects. Thanks, Cnilep (talk) 19:02, 20 May 2010 (UTC) (from Norman, Oklahoma)
Thank you for your welcomeNarthring, Thank you for your warm welcome and useful pages. I do plan on staying. I would like to overhaul articles on Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I suppose I should say so on talk page and let everyone who has edit those articles know, right? At this point, I have a couple of questions: (1) What is your position among the Wikipedians? I am trying to orient myself. (2) A friend of mine sent me a bunch of articles about "deletionists." Is it something I should worry about? Vyeh (talk) 10:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Vyeh (talk) 19:49, 24 May 2010 (UTC) Please look at Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire External LinksHi. I think it is important that I bring you and Reyk into an issue. I overhauled the External Links (see the discussion pages), being extremely careful to be fair to all SMAC forums and notifying you and Reyk of my interest. Bdanv, moderator of one SMAC forum, edited the External Link for his forum introducing several self-serving elements (he moved his link to just below the official site's link, violating alphabetical order and he used "WePlaySMAC" instead of the "WePlayCiv" that appears on his forum page). What I have done pending review by you and Reyk is to put the WePlayCiv link back in alphabetical order, put in the correct "WePlayCiv" instead of "WePlaySMAC" and conformed the information to objective information that is available to you or Reyk upon following the link. (This necessitated removing material I had originally written when the link was pointing to the Alpha Centauri Downloads section instead of pointing to the Alpha Centauri Forums section.) I believe my edit preserves the information Bdanv was adding while following the WikiPedia guidelines on external links. Thank you. Oklahoma State ParksHi, and thanks for your help. I saw that you were working on the list of Oklahoma State Parks. Making sure that we had the best possible information available for Oklahoma's state parks was my first priority. I work for the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department who operates the state parks. I found your list of state parks and added some lakes, rivers and streams information. But I also came across a category of Oklahoma State Parks. I couldn't figure out how to fix it, but I did post on the discussion page some needed edits. There are some state parks that are missing, a few that are not really state parks and a name change needed. Here's a link to the discussion page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Oklahoma_state_parks. Is that something you know how to do? I'm brand new to Wikipedia and struggling to figure this all out. I'd appreciate any help you could provide.Jkalkman (talk) 13:26, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
You are now a ReviewerHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC). Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here. If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Wikiproject Oklahoma--Dcheagle 09:36, 5 January 2012 (UTC) Speedy deletion nomination of Lake Thunderbird State Park
A tag has been placed on Lake Thunderbird State Park requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.travelok.com/listings/view.profile/id.4386. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
