Please stop changing the statuses for players in their infoboxes to injured. This is not what it is for. Asterisk

First, please don't put spaces after the asterisks in NFL player infoboxes, this is not the standard.

Secondly, do not put an asterisk on a player's current team, as we only put them after a tenure is over. By doing it this way, we avoid having the page be incorrect if a player ever gets promoted to the active roster.

Finally, don't add asterisks when it is not appropriate, such as at Corey Hilliard. Hilliard has been a member of the Colts' active roster, and therefore will never have an asterisk for that tenure.►Chris Nelson^Holla! 04:18, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2011 truck series

Thanks for the improvements, but you made a few mistakes.

• Lumping certain things together. For example, Craig Goess was sponsored by Greenville Toyota and only them, whereas Justin Lofton was sponsored by CollegeComplete. Trip Bruce was also with Goess, while Bormann is with Lofton
• Sponsors-There's no clear pattern for how you lined up the sponsors. Are you listing only the primary sponsors, or all the sponsors. I understand the KHI stuff could get super clustered and stuff, but they never had a sponsor for more than about 3-ish races for the 2 and 33.
• German Quiroga was sponsored by Telcel, not Joy Mining Machinery, which is for Josh Richards.
• Vision Aviation shut down early on. Colin Braun drove the 51 Ford for Ballew at Michigan and Josh Richards drove with JMM with Rick Ren as his crew chief.
• Can you do note labels for VAR's 15 and 51 since they were both fielded by Kyle Busch Motorsports later in the year?

• The 52 was NEVER fielded by MacDonald Motorsports. Koch drove it for Means with Daystar since MacDonald already committed to running Wimmer in the 81. Just sying, I got a similar warning from admin, so don't be surprised if your edits are rolled back.
• Hyder's not the crew chief for the 33, its Chris Carrier, and Monsam's with the 81 team.
• The Hellman's, Ragu, Suave, and Degree brands for JR Motorsports can all be placed as Unilever

You also kinda ruined the Cup series page. It was never supposed to have a large chart of all the drivers. It was split between the drivers who ran the full schedule and the limited schedule. I mean what were you using as your inspiration for adding the car colors and the rounds? Before you accuse me of vandalism with no malicious intent, allow me to clarify on the problems you noted which were in the page:

• You have a point about lumping sponsors together, but if I were to separate every sponsor with the driver driving the car, it would result in a larger expansion of the chart while naming off repetitive sponsors for the drivers. For example, with Kevin Harvick Incorporated's #2 truck, Ron Hornaday drove with sponsorship from Champion, Hollywood Casino, and Bad Boy Buggies. Kevin Harvick drove the same truck with Bad Boy Buggies, but not the other two sponsors, while also having Hunt Brother's Pizza on the hood, a sponsor which was on when Elliott Sadler drove the truck. So my point is that with KHI, those sponsors were always with the team, while rotating when they were present on the hood, with several different drivers; so instead of branding each driver with their own sponsor(s), I simply branded the car/truck with its primary sponsor(s).
• Going back to my first point, I arranged the sponsors not by whether they were on the hood at some point in the season, but by if they were on the car all season and made it on the hood at least once (i.e Tide was on KHI's hood twice, I think, but was on the car all season). Also most of the sponsors were on the page before I "colored" it up, so I can't be blamed for what sponsors are on the page, but if needed I will go back and edit it up so that only the "primary" primary sponsors are on the page.
• For German Quiroga/Josh Richards situation, see point 1.
• With crew chiefs, I tried to limit it to just the current crew chief.
• Are you asking me to make a note that Billy Ballew Motorsports fielded a truck for Colin Braun and Josh Richards under the BBM name and not VAR name?
• The page has since reverted back to its previous format. Do you still want me to make that note?
• I know that Means Racing fields the #52, but according racing-reference, Koch drove the #52 car with Pat MacDonald listed as the car owner for the 28th race.[1]
• Any crew chief errors were already on the page. I'll be sure to make the correct changes.
• I made no changes to the list of sponsors for JR Motorsports, nor did I know Unilever products were listed as the products themselves.
• If you take a look at the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series page, you'll see it too has colors and a list of rounds. Plus I took the chart on the page from the List of NASCAR teams page, which I've been making the majority of the edits over the past month (the only changes I made to that page were the color-coating and rounds column.

So I hope you have a better understanding of my motives behind the changes to those pages. I had no interest in vandalizing the pages and only wanted to give the pages a better look, as I found their current formats boring and difficult to understand compared to my format. I apologize if my format doesn't fit into the criteria you and the other NASCAR editors want.

That said, I'm perplexed that you would send me a list of changes you would like me to make, yet you and one or two other people went ahead and changed it anyways. Rather than try to fix the problem, you simply erased it. I'm also offended by the comment someone made about the 2011 NASCAR pages being made to look like coloring books; the only coloring I made was to the driver number, which is also the smallest column. If you want your 2011 NASCAR pages to be black and white that's fine, but I ask you to remove all the coloring from previous NASCAR pages if that's the case.

Yes, I understand now. We don't color the driver numbers since that's not too important. We're undergoing a process of splitting the pages into complete schedule and limited schedule. Btw, It'd be cool if you could post replies on the talk page, its easier for me to keep track of messages so I don't forget them. I'd take this up with either NASCAR1996 or V8fan, see if they want you to do it. If they do, for alot of the series, multiple drivers have raced in a single truck that's raced for a full season, most notably KHI's #2 truck had like 7 drivers in it. Nowiki tags

Please stop changing the nowiki tags in NASCAR drivers' infoboxes. They are supposed to be in this format: <nowiki>#</nowiki> (car number), to cause the # symbol to display. A format of <nowiki>(car number)</nowiki> is nonsensical as the nowiki tags aren't needed for the number, and the # symbol makes them appear much better. Infoboxes

Just as a note - when I clean up the driver's pages (a slow but steady and surprisingly rewarding process) the move of the "|" breaks in the infoboxes to the left is deliberate - it doesn't change the functionality of the template or its appearance, but makes it 9001% easier to edit. So if it's not too much of a bother to ask if they could be left on the left as you edit? Proposed deletion of List of IndyCar Series drivers

The article List of IndyCar Series drivers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is not a comprehensive list of IndyCar drivers, and while a list of the current IndyCar drivers could to some extent be useful, it would be duplicating the effort of the season by season articles. A redirect to something like 2024 IndyCar Series#Confirmed Entries or something could be useful, but as it stands this page largely is duplicative of other information on Wikipedia and has not been updated in the past 3 seasons.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
