2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
While making a change to any of the information, please review the reference, or add a new one. As on Jayski.com it says that Trevor Bayne will run some 2011 races with the team, while it hasn't been officially announced that Elliott will also drive for the team. He may go to Phoenix Racing. I need help with adding references. A report on Jayski that came out today denied that Bill was running with the #09 team. Even though Trevor Bayne is driving the car in testing, he won't be driving the #21 at all. Bill will stil be driving for the Wood Brothers in 2011, leaving Phoenix w/o a driver. Have you been reading my edit summaries when I revert you on the 2011 season article? I have because some of what you put is unsourced by the reference, which means the information does not appear on the reference. Then, I have also had more sponsors added. Only primary sponsors are needed. They are not that notable in the article, thats why I'm asking for the primary sponsor only. The teams have associative sponsors, but they do not need to be included. I have actually wanted the entire column to be removed, but other users say its needed. On Bobby Labonte's car, they have several sponsors, but Bush's Baked Beans will be on the car the most, so its the only one that needs included. Thanks. Nascar199620:18, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhh ok. So even though Bush's Clorox, and Kingsford essentially share the same amount of races (7,6,6) respectively, Bush's is on the car the most. Sorry about that. And the LFR #95 does have primary sponsorship from WRL Contractors which is one of Leavine's companies. Why did you want the entire sponsor column removed? And do you know how IndyCar has a Template Box for the championship contenders for the 2011 season? I removed it because it was clearly unreferenced for some parts. Also, it changes too often. Then about the sponsor ship column, too much statistics, and stuff. Though Wikipedia is supposed to have a lot of information, its not supposed to have a dumpload of information. Such as in a Encylcopedia book, it doesn't display every little cranny that happens. The 2010 Price Chopper 400 was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race that was held on October 3, 2010 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. The 300 lap race was the twenty-ninth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The race was also the third event in the ten round Chase for the Sprint Cup competititon , which would concluded the 2010 season. Greg Biffle, of the Roush Fenway Racing team, won the race, with Jimmie Johnson finishing second and Kevin Harvick third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap to begin the race, as Jeff Gordon, who started in the third position on the grid, remained behind him. Twenty-three laps later Jeff Gordon became the leader of the race. After the final pit stops, Paul Menard became the leader of the race, but with less than fifty laps remaining, Biffle passed him. He maintained the first position to lead a total of sixty laps, and to win his second race of the season. I second Moriori's comments. You have 2 options on images. 1) Take the picture yourself, then use a valid free license. or 2) Only upload images that you find at flickr which already have the license Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike (or just CC plus either Attribution or CC-ShareAlike). Then you need to be certain that this image was taken by the photographer. It's best that you don't upload any images now. Please ask me if you find one and I'll say if it's okay until I'm sure that you understand. You did bad when you replaced an excellent image of Landon Cassill with one that you found somewhere else. A bot deleted the image which was a copyright violation (ILLEGAL!!). So you erased an image and it ultimately wouldn't have been replaced if I wasn't watching that particular page. The 2011 Budweiser Shootout was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race that was held on February 12, 2011 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Contested over 75 laps, it was the first exhibition race of the 2011 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Kurt Busch for the Penske Racing team. Jamie McMurray finished second, and Ryan Newman clinched third. Pole position driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. maintained his lead through the first corner, but Clint Bowyer, who started seventh on the grid, led the first lap. On the 25th lap, the first caution was given, as Jeff Burton became the leader. During the caution all the teams made a pit stop . Two laps later, an accident involving several racecars prompted the second caution to be given. On lap 63, Newman became the leader. He maintained the lead until the final lap, when Denny Hamlin passed him below the yellow line (out of bounds line), as Busch passed him on the other side. Hamlin passed Newman below the yellow line giving the win to Kurt Busch. There were four cautions and 28 lead changes among ten different drivers throughout the course of the race. It was Busch's first win in the 2011 season, as well as his first win at a track that uses restrictor plates, such as Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. A total of 80,000 people attended the race, while 7.8 million watched it on television.

The 2011 Subway Fresh Fit 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on February 27, 2011 at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Contested over 312 laps, it was the second race of the 2011 season. The race was won by Jeff Gordon for the Hendrick Motorsports team. Kyle Busch finished second, and Jimmie Johnson clinched third. Pole position driver Carl Edwards maintained his lead on the first lap to begin the race, as Kurt Busch, who started in the second position on the grid, remained behind him. On the 29th lap, the first caution was given because of debris. Forty-eight laps later, a multiple car accident occurred, which involved 13 drivers. Afterward, several lead changes, and four more cautions occurred. With nine laps remaining, Gordon passed Kyle Busch for the first position. Gordon maintained the lead to win his first race of the season, and his first in more than 60 races. There were eight cautions and 29 lead changes among 12 different drivers throughout the course of the race, Gordon's first win of the season. The result moved Gordon to the sixth position in the Drivers' Championship. He remained 15 points behind first place driver Kyle Busch and one ahead of Bobby Labonte in seventh. In the Manufacturers' Championship, Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet had twelve points, four points ahead of Dodge. A total of 75,000 people attended the race, while 10.36 million watched it on television.

The 2010 Toyota/Save Mart 350 was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race held on June 20, 2010 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Contested over 110 laps, it was the sixteenth race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season and the first of two road course competitions on the schedule. The race was won by Jimmie Johnson, for the Hendrick Motorsports team. Robby Gordon finished second, and Kevin Harvick, who started fourth, clinched third. Conditions were sunny at the start of the race, making the track potentially slippery. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner, but Johnson, who had started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Kahne suffered an ill-handling car during the beginning of the race, causing him to fall to seventh by the sixth lap. Seven laps before the finish, race leader Marcos Ambrose, turned his car off to try to save fuel, but he could not refire the engine and subsequently stalled. He dropped back from the lead to sixth place with seven laps remaining, allowing Kahne to finish fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth. There were eight cautions and twelve lead changes among eight different drivers throughout the course of the race, Johnson's fourth win of the season and his first ever at Infineon. The result moved him up four spots to second in the Drivers' Championship, 140 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and one ahead of Kyle Busch. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, nine points ahead of Toyota and forty-three ahead of Dodge, with twenty races remaining in the season.

Justin Allgaier leads the field after the final caution brought out by the spun out car in the background at Road America during the 2011 Bucyrus 200 Nationwide Series race. All that Allgaier had to do was drive slowly under a caution flag around the track but he ran out of the fuel and could not complete the final lap. He only went a few hundred meters (yards) before running out of fuel in the next corner. Second place car Ron Fellows was ruled to have passed the third place car so he was given the second place finish.
Pole position driver Kurt Busch led from the start ahead of Jeff Gordon who started second on the grid. The crowd stood in silence during lap 3 to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Dale Earnhardt. On lap 30 a multiple accident occurred involving 17 drivers. On lap 197 the fifteenth caution was flagged causing a green-white-checker finish. David Ragan was leading at the time but was black flagged for moving into the lower lane before the finish line. Immediately after the restart, a sixteenth caution was given. Bayne took the lead on the lap 206 restart and maintained it to win his first NASCAR race and Wood Brothers' fifth Daytona 500.
There were 16 cautions and 74 lead changes among 22 different drivers throughout. Following the race, Edwards led the Drivers' Championship with 42 points, one ahead of Gilliland and Bobby Labonte. Ford led the Manufacturer Championship with nine points, three ahead of Toyota and five ahead of Dodge. A total of 182,000 people attended the race, while 15.6 million watched it on television.

Tim Richmond (June 7, 1955 - August 13, 1989) was an Americanrace car driver from Ashland, Ohio. He competed in IndyCar racing before transferring to NASCAR's Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series). Richmond was the first driver to change from open wheel racing to NASCAR stock cars, which has since become an industry trend. He won the 1980 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award and had 13 victories during eight NASCAR seasons. Richmond achieved his top NASCAR season in 1986 when he finished third in points. He won seven races that season, more than any other driver on the tour. When he missed the season-opening Daytona 500 in February 1987, media reported that he had pneumonia. The infection most likely resulted from his compromised immune system, which had been weakened by AIDS. The disease would drastically shorten his life. Despite the state of his health, Richmond competed in eight races in 1987, winning two events and one pole position before his final race in August of that year. He attempted a comeback in 1988 before NASCAR banned him for testing positive for a banned substance. Richmond grew up in a wealthy family and lived a debauched lifestyle, earning him the nickname "Hollywood". In describing Richmond's influence in the sport of racing, Lowe's Motor Speedway president Humpy Wheeler said: "We've never had a race driver like Tim in stock car racing. He was almost a James Dean-like character." When Richmond was cast for a bit part in the 1983 movie Stroker Ace, "He fell right in with the group working on the film," said director Hal Needham. Cole Trickle, the main character in the movie Days of Thunder, played by Tom Cruise, was loosely based on Richmond and his interaction with Harry Hyde and Rick Hendrick.

Oh boy, that looks a stickler. NASCAR's entry list currently has Cobb listed in the #10 Ford for 'Dega, while Patrick Sheltra is in the #99 in a Dodge, under sponsor "Chase Mattioli Racing". Now, I haven't caught up on the other entry lists of late, but if this is definitely the first race for the #99 as a Dodge, we could incorporate it together. But I think the idea with the most common sense at present is to have them listed separately. That way, it'll provide less confusion for other readers of the article, yeah! Put it this way, I've never seen so many changes of numbers between teams in a single season in any category of racing! There's definitely no way to incorporate the three teams together with the numbers, so we can rule that out. Easiest way to do it, is as you say, to split them up. Won't confuse any readers that way. I am a non-malignant editor that is currently only able to use an IP address that is with an open proxy. I am a consisted updater of the NASCAR section of Wikipedia and would like to be unblocked to continue my contribution. I am a student that is studying abroad at a university in England and this is the only feasable area from which I can edit from. This university has a open proxy for public use, and the other IP's I've used are in the United States.

The Unocal-Darlington Record Club was a club in the NASCARGrand National and Winston Cup Series from 1959 to about 2001, based at Darlington Raceway. Membership was achieved based on setting qualifying records during time trials for the annual Southern 500 held on Labor Day weekend. During its heyday, it was considered one of the most prestigious and exclusive clubs in motorsports.The club was sponsored by longtime NASCAR sponsor Unocal/Union 76. Previously it was sponsored by Pure Oil. At some time after the 2001 season, the club was quietly retired. The club ended permanently when Unocal left the sport in 2003, and the Southern 500 was removed from the schedule after 2004.The original eight charter members were selected in 1959: Dick Joslin (Dodge), Marvin Panch (Ford), Joe Caspolich (Oldsmobile), Bob Burdick (Thuderbird), Speedy Thompson (Chevrolet), Richard Petty (Plymouth), Elmo Langley (Buick), and Fireball Roberts (Pontiac). Roberts was selected as the first president; Former Darlington Raceway president Bob Colvin contributed in creating the club.

The 2010 Ford 400 was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race that was held on November 21, 2010 at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The 267 lap race was the thirty-sixth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the final race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. The race was won by Carl Edwards for the Roush Fenway Racing team. Jimmie Johnson finished second, and Kevin Harvick clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap of the race. Edwards started in the second position on the grid, and became the leader of the race on the fourth lap. Shortly after a restart on lap 22, championship leader Denny Hamlin spun sideways, resulting with damage to his splitter. Martin Truex, Jr. took the lead on lap 73, but after the final pit stops Edwards was first. He maintained the lead to win the race, having led it for 192 laps. A total of 67,000 people attended the race, while 5.605 million watched it on television. There were ten cautions in the race, as well as twenty-five lead changes among nine different drivers. Edwards' victory was his second win in the 2010 season, with the first coming the previous week at the Kobalt Tools 500. Jimmie Johnson won the Drivers' Championship, 39 points ahead of Denny Hamlin. The way you're suggesting seems to tie into line with what was listed on the 2011 Sprint Cup page, and now that I'm looking at it, that does seem to be a cleaner way of doing the particular driver's races if they are not doing a complete schedule of races. So for instance, take the KHI #2 truck from 2011:
It can either be the number of the races, or the track that the races were at. Perhaps bring it up at the WikiProject, because it may be a change that could be universally adopted across the three series, rather than having the three series with three potential article setups...in regards to the Gaughan/Bodine/Mears situation, I'm not too sure, although on Jayski, it does say that the remaining driver for the #2 truck would be announced at a later date. Yeah, Bodine and Papis out of rides with the Germain closure...Papis may end up at RCR, but I can't see it personally...Bodine would be a grab for any team, but not many have placed their hands for 2012, what with the season-opener being a week later. Hi there. We were waiting really to see what reliable sources we going to do with regards to splitting or keeping it as it is. However, I've just found the team profile on formula1.com has been updated, suggesting they will consider them the same team. How a team called Lotus can be considered the same as a team called Renault from the 1970s is rather difficult to understand, but hey. Anyway, there's no point in moving it to 'Lotus Renault GP' as you tried to do because that was their 2011 name - they will be 'Lotus F1 Team' in 2012. And also, the team has not rebranded itself yet like Team Lotus/Caterham did last week - so if the article is going to just going to be renamed that cannot be done just yet. The 2011 Subway Fresh Fit 500 was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race held on February 27, 2011 at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. Contested over 312 laps, it was the second race of the 2011 season and was won by Jeff Gordon for Hendrick Motorsports from Kyle Busch in second and Jimmie Johnson third. Carl Edwards led the first lap from pole position ahead of Kurt Busch who started second on the grid. The race was caution free until lap 29 (debris), and then 48 laps later a multiple crash occurred involving 13 drivers. Later there were several lead changes, and another four cautions. With nine laps remaining, Gordon took the lead from Kyle Busch to win his first race of the season, his first in more than 60 races. There were eight cautions and 29 lead changes among 12 different drivers during the race. Gordon's win moved him to sixth position in the drivers' championship, 15 points behind leader Kyle Busch and one ahead of Bobby Labonte in seventh. In the Manufacturers' Championship, Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet had 12 points, four ahead of Dodge. A total of 75,000 people attended the race, and 10.36 million watched it on television.

Team Lotus/Caterham
It wasn't me that split them. I was just tidying up a bodged move by another editor. User:Prisonermonkeys decided without asking anyone that Marussia and Virgin needed seperate pages, their reasoning being that the constructor name has changed and therefore their results will start from zero (though they didn't have any evidence for this). I said that if we are going to use that logic then Caterham and Team Lotus need splitting as that was also a change of name. Prisonermonkeys then went ahead and created new articles for Lotus and Caterham. Personally I certainly think that the Lotus team of 2012 has absolutely nothing to do with the Renault of the 1970s, so there is no way they can be in the same article. - mspete9316:38, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When a team changes its name, it is considered to be a new constructor. Any results that it scores are credits to its new name. There has never been a case where the FIA has considered a new team to be a "continuation" of an old one - not even when Jordan became Midland, then Spyker and then Force India - and there is no evidence that they are about to begin doing so now. The raceway was originally constructed with a 2.5 miles (4.0 km) road course that ran both inside and outside of the main tri-oval. In 1991 the track was reconfigured with the current 1.51 miles (2.43 km) interior layout. PIR has an estimated grandstand seating capacity of around 67,000. Lights were installed around the track in 2004 following the addition of a second annual NASCAR race weekend.
Phoenix International Raceway is home to two annual NASCAR race weekends, one of 13 facilities on the NASCAR schedule to host more than one race weekend a year. There were six caution flags and twenty-eight lead changes among fourteen different drivers throughout the course of the race. I deleted your recent edits on the NASCAR drivers page because I've previously been notified by NASCAR moderators about limiting the amount of color used on the page, such as you color-coating Timmy Hill's name to show he's a ROY contender. Also they made a change a few months ago wanting to show only the driver's home country flag, not their state flag. Sorry if it seemed I didn't want you "messing with my page," as I've been managing the page for the last year. I was just trying to keep it up to the standards that the mods want. Regarding Danica in Cup - I have yet to find a reliable source for the change (and given NASCAR's secrecy with its rulebook, there might not be one), but I've seen it said enough places that I'm confident it's true (just not, as mentioned, citable yet) - when they changed the rules to "pick a series for points", they also changed it so that a driver who is not running for points in a series doesn't have their starts in that series count against their ROTY eligibility in that series - hence Patrick is eligible for Cup ROTY in 2013, Trevor Bayne is still elgible, and with Ryan Blaney switching from N'wide to Truck points starting last weekend he should still be eligible for N'wide ROTY next year. Why is this wackiness not noted on the Rookie page? I understand Stenhouse being eligible for ROTY for 2013 since he's only made two Cup starts. Bayne ran rookie stripes on his #21 in 2011 because he was inexperienced at those tracks he ran at for the 18 race schedule with the Wood Brothers, but he did not earn any points towards the ROTY crown since he was ineligible for points in the series. So this also applies to Patrick, who despite making more than the maximum 7 starts for eligible Cup drivers (in her case 10), is ineligible for points in Cup. Though she will be eligible for points next year. And when did Ryan Blaney switch to Truck points? Grrr more plotholes -_-. Now a question that's been bugging me is if Parker Kligerman was released from Penske's development program or if he's still a part of it...and if Ryan Blaney's been picked up by Penske. Oh...I forgot Pastrana's making that 8th start with RFR at Richmond. Silly Season I thought was going to be a simple Kenseth to Gibbs, Logano to Penske, Kurt Busch ends up at 2nd Furniture Row car...but it brings up more plotholes in the lower series...ugghhhh. Since Logano's been doing most of the N'Wide starts for Gibbs, and he'll likely be splitting the #22 with BK, Blaney, and JV, where does that leave the #18 and #20? The factor in this will be Sam and Alliance Truck Parts. I remember Sam (or someone else stating in a interview that he and ATP wanted to go Cup Racing, so the third car is a possibility for Penske. I've just added it to the rookie page, as best I can with the sources I have anyway. And yes, it appears it applies to all drivers in all series. As for Blaney's switch to Truck points, that came and went in the night, as it were - nothing mentioned in the news, at all. Simply a line in the race report from Atlanta that Blaney received 33 points for his 11th place finish, not 0 as he had the previous race at Bristol for 6th. This is actually Pastrana's 9th start at Richmond, BTW - 8th was Atlanta. As for Kligerman, I've seen conflicting reports - some say he was released completely from Penske's program (which would make sense as he's now driving for the Dark Side - er, Toyota), others that he was just cut from BHR because of lack of sponsorship with Dodge/Ram going away next year, others saying it was Kligerman's call to leave... Elliott Sadler's supposed to be running a N'wide car for Gibbs next year according to Jayski's. Sam's up in the air aside from "with Penske". And as for Danica, while in the Daytona 500 it was pretty well stated that the 10 was always a TBR car, it was explicitly stated during the SPEED Channel qualifying broadcast at first Michigan (I think it was) that the #10 is a pure SHR operation when Danica runs it, just with Baldwin's name on the entry blank for the points. - The BushrangerOne ping only02:25, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Completely agree with regards to JGR's Busch cars, but it's already confirmed straight from the horse's mouth (Childress') that Sadler won't be back in the 2 next year for certain, with JGR being the grapevine's destination for him. Tim Richmond (June 7, 1955 – August 13, 1989) was an Americanrace car driver from Ashland, Ohio. He competed in IndyCar racing before transferring to NASCAR's Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series). Richmond was one of the first drivers to change from open wheel racing to NASCAR stock cars full-time, which has since become an industry trend. He won the 1980 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award and had 13 victories during eight NASCAR seasons.
Richmond achieved his top NASCAR season in 1986 when he finished third in points. He won seven races that season, more than any other driver on the tour. When he missed the season-opening Daytona 500 in February 1987, media reported that he had pneumonia. The infection most likely resulted from his compromised immune system, which was weakened by AIDS. The disease drastically shortened his life. Despite the state of his health, Richmond competed in eight races in 1987, winning two events and one pole position before his final race in August of that year. He attempted a comeback in 1988 before NASCAR banned him for testing positive for a banned substance; after NASCAR insisted on access to his entire medical record before reinstating him, Richmond withdrew from racing. NASCAR later stated their original test was inaccurate.
Richmond grew up in a wealthy family and lived a freewheeling lifestyle, earning him the nickname "Hollywood". In describing Richmond's influence in racing, Charlotte Motor Speedway president Humpy Wheeler said: "We've never had a race driver like Tim in stock car racing. He was almost a James Dean-like character." When Richmond was cast for a bit part in the 1983 movie Stroker Ace, "He fell right in with the group working on the film," said director Hal Needham. Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. In addition to NASCAR, the track also hosts races of ARCA, AMA Superbike, Grand-Am and Motocross. The track features multiple layouts including the primary 2.5 miles (4.0 km) high speed tri-oval, a 3.56 miles (5.73 km) sports car course, a 2.95 miles (4.75 km) motorcycle course, and a .25 miles (0.40 km) karting and motorcycle flat-track. The track's 180-acre (73 ha) infield includes the 29-acre (12 ha) Lake Lloyd, which has hosted powerboat racing. The speedway is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation. The track was built in 1958 by NASCAR founder William France Sr. to host racing that was being held at the former Daytona Beach Road Course. His banked design permitted higher speeds and gave fans a better view of the cars. Ah, he's been trying to do that on the RangerWiki for about a year now. He's more into fanfiction. He has very repetitive behavior and tries to use his own canonical fanfiction. If he gets banned then he'll get a username like a comic book hero or a previous Red Ranger. And he won't respond to your comments either, he'll only reply if he's threatened with a ban and say that he's sorry, but he'll come back and do it again. Construction of the track, on the site of the former Kaiser Steel Mill, began in 1995 and was completed in late 1996. The speedway has a grandstand capacity of 91,200 and 28 skyboxes. In 2006, a fanzone was added behind the main grandstand. Lights were added to the speedway in 2004 with the addition of a second annual NASCAR weekend. In 2011 and 2012 the track hosted only one NASCAR weekend. As much as I enjoy editing championship standings on multiple pages, PWC/Sprint-X simply take up too much time for me these days, as I'm also busy with Blancpain GT (Endurance/Sprint/Asia/Sports Club), all GT4 series, lower NASCAR series and more.
