The article currently isn't sourced to multiple, independent and reliable sources that talk about the subject in-depth. Unfortunately it needs this evidence to show that it is widely notable before the article can be accepted. Wikipedia isn't a business directory for every small airline. The 'notability' guidelines for companies also request at least some evidence that the company has been talked about in general news sources (rather than just specialist magazines). Hi CHCBOY, I've reverted your change of name of the above article. Air Safaris Ltd is an inappropriate name - the 1962 airline is also called Air Safaris Ltd. The NZ company is not referred to as Air Safaris Ltd in any of the sources. Normally we don't use the legal status of a company in its Wikipedia name. I've moved the page back to a name that differentiates it from the other airline. I heard through a contact it was to come down as in the eastern frame. Cera to buy up all the existing buildings if they are damaged or not they have to make way for the new park. But searching for an article on Oaks Hotel, I came up with nothing useful so far to put into our article. I was looking for info on a future demo of it no announcements yet in the media. Mainland Air

I see you have created Mainland air by copying and pasting the contents of the draft User:CHCBOY/Mainland Air. Unfortunately, this leaves the history of the article behind with the draft, and we are required to keep this history as part of the copyright of the various contributors to the article. If this had been an article you created in your userspace as a draft, and which had no other contributors, this would not have been a problem, but this article was created by others and moved to your userspace so you could rescue it from deletion.

As a minor issue, you have named it with a lower case "air" but the company title uses an uppercase.

I suggest you proceed by tagging the mainspace article as {{Db-author}}, and then using the Move button to move the draft out of your userspace to the correct title. You will then have to re-apply changes made to the mainspace version, but these do not look to be substantial.

Alternatively, please follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen to have the history merged with the article. I have the tools to do this merger, but it's a slightly tricky procedure which is best left to someone who does this frequently.-gadfium 23:45, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gadfium, about the title I checked the website [[1]] and it has their title written MAINLANDair one word so that was why I used that version in the Wikipedia title for the airline. I did try to attach the old history with the new history page and asked for help as well but so far no reply. Destination maps

Hi, I see that you want to keep destination maps on airports' pages. In that discussion lots of editors agreed to remove destination maps from airports and airlines. I've read again this discussion and just one editor disagreed with the proposal, but at the end he didn't say anything. Then, if you have a look here, you'll find clearly written "Do not add destination maps, this makes the Wikipedia look like a travel guide. It is also considered that they are a duplicate of information...". So I see no reasons to keep it on airports' articles like Auckland Airport. Thank you. When is an AOC holder not an airline?

All companies operating aircraft commercially must have an air operator's certificate (AOC). If you are operating a single Robinson R-22 and doing traffic reports for a radio station, you need an AOC. If you have a Fletcher FU24 and are spraying crops, you need an AOC. If you are taking photographs for Google Maps from a Cessna 172, you need an AOC. If you are teaching people to fly, you need an AOC. Conducting organ transplant flights in a Cessna Citation? You must have an AOC. If you are being paid to carry someone shooting deer out of a Hughes 500, you must have an AOC. Doing scenic flights in a Nomad from Lake Tekapo over Aoraki? You must have an AOC. If you are operating Aerospatiale Ecuriel helicopters up onto Fox Glacier, you must have an AOC. Having an AOC does not make a company an airline.

The onus is on you to demonstrate that the companies in the list are actually licensed as airlines. Glenorchy Air isn't - it says so on its own website: "Glenorchy Air is a fixed wing scenic flight company". Ridge Air isn't; from its website: "RidgeAir NZ is a fully professional Air Transport Charter Operator operating New Zealand wide. We also offer Multi Engine Advanced Instrument Flight Training." Island Air Charter isn't; from its website: "All flight prices promoted on this website are based on minimum passenger numbers being met. If these minimum numbers are not met, the price per seat will increase to offset the missing seat(s)." That isn't an airline operation, that is an air charter operation. Mountain Air isn't; from its website: "Flights leave on demand with a minimum of 2 people". That isn't an airline operation. I looked carefully at the various companies' websites and I also looked carefully at various pages on the CAA website; what research did you do, other than glance at a Wikipedia article that lacks references for the information it contains, and then use that unreferenced information as justification for undoing my earlier edit? I assume you are male; I assume you are living in or near Christchurch; I assume that you are working Airside at CHC, but I do not know if that is accurate and I do not know what you do for a job. I do not know whether you know what is an airline or how much you know about airline operations; based on what you have stated and done up to now, I assume that you don't know much - but I do not know. You posted "why do you think they are not airlines you not have reason for it", in the message above you now have my reason (which took me two hours of work to compose before I posted it), as well as a bit of education as to what is (or more accurately what isn't) an airline. Despite this it seems you still do not understand the difference between a charter company or scenic flight operator and an airline. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Air Auckland and Salt Air's services.

As mentioned on their respective websites, both airlines operate daily scheduled flights.--Biponacci (talk) 00:34, 4 January 2020 (UTC) I can't find any scheduled flights on Salt Air website anywhere only charters with nothing timetabled as such however the Air Auckland has timetabled flights under air taxi from Ardmore so this can be included. Airline slogan Revert

CHCBOY, earlier today, I removed the company slogan from Kiwi Regional Airlines. This is because this parameter is no longer supported in Infoxbox Airline and puts the page in the maintenance category Category:Pages_using_infobox_airline_with_company_slogan to be fixed. You reverted my change. I am going to make this correction again. If you revert my correction a second time, it will be considered vandalism. First, I don't have an issue with it, and thank you. Second, I usually just try to revert everything Jellywings19 adds, as it is often a mix of accurate, well sourced content, and outright garbage. Air Kaikoura to Wellington

The reason Im here is because of the Edit to Wellington Airport. Air Kaikoura no longer services this airport; that information is on their article and also on their website. Jetstar hub.

We won't be able to find a secondary source for hub even for Air NZ at Auckland. There is no mention in the media. However Jetstar Auckland hub fits the definition for a hub from the Airline hub Wikipedia page. Plus Auckland is listed under the Jetstar infobox as the hub for New Zealand. As a third party, I'd say that Jetstar doesn't have any 'hubs' full-stop as a low cost carrier (LCC), I can find very little secondary sources refer to the Jetstar hubs as 'hubs', and some of the primary sources refer to the Jetstar 'hubs' as 'bases' (ie Melbourne Base, Sydney Base, etc). On a similar matter, I can only find some secondary sources stating that AKL is a hub for Air New Zealand, and like with Jetstar, I can't seem to find any primary sources stating that Air New Zealand has their 'hub' at Auckland, despite NZ clearly scheduling AKL as a hub. Christchurch Wikipedia Meetups

Kia ora! For the first half of 2024 I'm the Aotearoa Wikipedian-at-Large, based in Christchurch and funded by a grant from Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand. As part of the project I'm running regular meetups in Tūranga where local Wikipedians can meet, chat, help each other out and collaborate on projects. I'll also be organising edit-a-thons, wikiblitzes, and training for new editors. The goal is to grow the editor community in Christchurch and convince local institutions that Wikipedia is worth taking seriously.

We're having an initlal coffee in Foundation Cafe on Sunday 18 February to talk about what Christchurch Wikipedians might like to do; come along if you're free, or drop me a line at mikerove.wiki if you have ideas or suggestions.
