ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:28, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on Airport/Destination tables

If you want to raise an RfC after the RfC last year, then please distribute notice of this widely. That means putting a notice on all airport pages, so that all those who wish to comment are aware of the RfC. Putting it on Village Pump or just telling people who contributed to the last RfC is not enough to give casual wikipedians the chance to comment.Pmbma (talk) 01:13, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know (and consider this as an advanced warning), after the conclusion of this RfC, I am intending to start a TBAN discussion on your forumshopping behaviour around initiating airport and airline destination deletion discussion. By my count, you launched very similar discussions under different mechanisms in 2016, 2023, 2024, 2024 again and now 2025. OhanaUnitedTalk page 03:47, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@OhanaUnited: OK, thank you for letting me know. Sunnya343 (talk) 00:04, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't support any T-bans or anything like that (five discussions in nine years is not a problem, and discussing WP:NOT on the WP:NOT page is not forum shopping), but at the very least please do more WP:BEFORERFC before starting another RFC on this topic and PLEASE take on board the comments about bundling disparate issues and complex questions. Every time you do something like this it just re-sets the clock on how willing people are to discuss this issue, and prevents them being discussed properly. If it's really something that needs discussing then it won't only be you raising the issue. FOARP (talk) 10:44, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@FOARP The "5 discussion in 9 years" isn't the problem. The main problem is "4 discussions in 15 months". And the latest discussion was "withdrawn" under a cloud while editors are attempting to establish a clear consensus on the proposal. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:27, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@OhanaUnited: I understand if you still wish to have a topic ban discussion. I just didn't want to drag out the RfC for a month. Sunnya343 (talk) 16:19, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    I can't see a TBAN passing based on "4 discussions in 15 months". FOARP (talk) 19:34, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@FOARP: I understand. In any case I won't be starting more discussions on this issue. I'll focus on editing the parts of airline/airport articles that interest me. Sunnya343 (talk) 16:17, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
