Adam Sedgwick (22 Maret 1785 – 27 Januari 1873) adalah salah satu pendiri geologi modern.

Sedgwick lahir di Dent, Yorkshire sebagai anak ketiga dari seorang vikaris Anglikan. Ia menuntut ilmu di sekolah Sedbergh dan Trinity College, Cambridge.[2]
