基龍科（學名：Edaphosauridae）是群大型、衍化的盤龍目，大部分的身長可達3公尺或是更長，生存於晚賓夕法尼亞紀到早二疊紀。

牠們和卡色龙科是目前所知最早的的一批植食性羊膜動物，與阔齿龙属同為所知最早的植食性四足類動物。基龍科的化石到目前為止只在北美與歐洲發現。

特征

基龍科的頭與身體相比較小，背上具有高大的背帆，可能用來體溫調節。除了具有上下颌的牙齿之外，上腭翼骨也具有大量钝齿，可帮助磨碎植物组织[2]。

在2010年，David M. Mazierski、Robert R. Reisz曾詳細研究基龍科的內部演化關係，以下演化樹來自於他們的研究[3]：
