A simplified but effective automatic measurement system has been built to give an additional alternative to the more complicated older version apparatus for rainfall interception metering on a representative tree of a subcatchment area. The equipment was installed on Regional Clean Water Company (PDAM) Air Serkuk Sub-Basin, Kubu Watershed, Belitung in 2014. The indirect way, called water balance or weighing method, was used in this study, so that the developed gauge consisted of some gages for gross rainfall, throughfall, stemflow, and canopy area measurements respectively on the selected plantation. Results revealed that the interception was about 11.36%. In other words, for every 100 mm rainfall, there was 11.36 mm interception on trees. Therefore, it was in the range of previous study results conducted by some former researchers in other places.Keywords: Instrumentation, instrument, interception, rainfall, water balance

In its first years, Instrumentasi was categorized as a scientific publication in the field of measuring techniques and measuring instruments which has been rapidly improved towards modern technology, and consequently, upgraded to a unique scientific journal in its class. Further, it is also accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Ristek Dikti). The scientific areas covered by Instrumentasi are those backboned by scientific measurements and thus range from instrument engineering, metrology, testing, and control. All papers submitted are refereed by bona fide reviewers from leading research institutions as well as universities prior to publication to keep their quality meet the standard of the journal. The review is carried out mainly on the basis of originality, novelty, and contribution to scientific measurement. Authors need to complete the ethical clearance form for publication. Papers may be submitted in either Indonesian or English. Titles, abstracts, and keywords, however, must be written in both languages for the purpose of indexing internationally. Papers written in English will be prioritized for publication when available space is limited. |
