ジョン・カーティン(1885 - 1945) Entrance as viewed from Curtin University bus station Building 408 (Business and Physiotherapy) Curtin Stadium Chancellery Building Curtinシンガポール分校キャンパス カーティン大学 （カーティンだいがく、英語 : Curtin University オーストラリア の西オーストラリア州 パース市 に位置する州最大規模の総合大学 で、オーストラリアで初の工科大学 として創立された。2010年にカーティン工科大学 (Curtin University of Technology)から名称が変更された。1966年大学創設当時は西オーストラリア工科大学 （Western Australian Institute of Technology）と呼ばれており、大学拡充を図るため「University」という語を付け加え、第14代オーストラリア首相 であるジョン・カーティン の名を引用し、現在はカーティン大学となっている。カーティン大学はAustralian Technology Network (ATN) に属し、イギリス のThe Times紙 が発行した「THE世界大学ランキング 」2004[ 1]
西オーストラリア最大の都市パースは、一年中快適な地中海性気候 で「世界で最も住みやすい都市」の上位に選ばれており、観光地としても国際色豊かな都市として知られる。カーティン大学は、パースのベントレー に116ヘクタールの広大なメインキャンパスがあり、約50,000人以上の学生が学んでいる。海外留学生の割合は約30%と高く、特にアジア 地域で抜群の知名度を誇る。（シンガポール とマレーシア に分校キャンパス有り）
カーティン大学は、1987年 創立以来、順調に発展を遂げ、現在では学生総数約40,000人を擁する西オーストラリア州最大規模の大学となっている。また、100カ国以上の国々から約17,000人もの留学生を受け入れており、国際性に富んだ大学としても知られている。2006年 2月にはマレーシアのアブドラ・バダウィ 首相が、そして2006年4月に中国の温家宝 国務院総理が訪問するなど、アジア諸国の要人との係わり合いも深い。
カーティン大学には、ビジネス 、工学 、自然科学 、人文科学 、健康科学 、農学 など様々な分野に亘って、学士 、修士 、博士 の課程で850ものコースが用意されている。とりわけ、ビジネス分野を担うカーティン・ビジネス・スクール（CBS）は、西オーストラリア州で最大であるだけでなく、オーストラリア全土でも最大級の規模を誇っており、大学院レベルのビジネス教育 と研究において国内外で高い評価を得ている[誰? 。
