Frank Furedi, né le à Budapest, est un sociologue britannique d'origine hongroise[1].

Biographie

Sa famille émigre au Canada après les événements politiques de 1956. Il fait ses études au Canada et au Royaume-Uni. Il obtient un Baccalauréat universitaire ès lettres en relations internationales à l'université McGill de Montréal, puis une maîtrise universitaire ès lettres sur les politiques africaines à l' école des études orientales et africaines de Londres. Il soutient sa thèse de doctorat de l'université du Kent sur la révolte des Mau Mau[2].

Il est professeur émérite de sociologie à l'université du Kent[3].

Il est connu pour ses travaux sur la sociologie de la peur et la sociologie de la connaissance,
