We look forward to meeting you in the first class on 25 February (Americas)/26 Feb (Asia/Australia). By now you should have received an introductory email with some details about the course. If you can't find it, there's an archived copy of the email at this link. To attend the live session, please check our course home page for instructions and the link. We recommend logging into Blackboard Collaborate (the live class software we use) before the day of class, to be sure it's working. (More tips on the home page.) If taking the course in self-paced mode, please come say hello on the course talk page so we know who you are! Thanks for signing up, and we'll see you Tuesday! - Pete (talk) 06:10, 24 February 2014 (UTC) Second WIKISOO class starts soon!Hi! Just a quick reminder that the second WIKISOO class starts in about 3 hours. Even if you missed Week 1, please join us at this link for the live webinar - ideally about 15 minutes early to test your mic/speakers. If you haven’t finished up your Week 1 homework, there’s still time; post any questions on the class talk page! You can also watch a video of last week’s class on YouTube (earlier audio problems have been corrected). We look forward to seeing you in class in a few hours. Here's the link to our Week 3 class page and to the live webinar. PLEASE NOTE: If you're not in the USA, please double-check the class time. We have gone on Daylight Savings Time (also known as Summer Time) in the USA, so for some of you the class time will be an hour earlier. (If your country goes on Summer Time in the coming weeks, you will want to check again!) This week we are going to start off with some basic review of all we've covered. So if you've been feeling behind or confused by all the details, we'll make sure we've got your questions answered before forging ahead! See you soon, -Pete (talk) 16:26, 11 March 2014 (UTC) Week 4 of Writing Wikipedia Articles: Final Projects Ahoy!Hey Shangkuanlc - hope all is going well with you as we segue into Week 4 of WIKISOO! Looking forward to chatting more with you this week about the Final Project - if you already know which article you're working on, you'll find instructions there for sharing this information easily with your classmates. Post any questions to the class Talk page, please! See you in class tomorrow! Sara FB (talk) 01:41, 18 March 2014 (UTC) WIKISOO check-inHow's it going, Shangkuanlc? Just touching base as we start the fifth (!) week of the WIKISOO course. We're excited to see students working on such a diverse range of articles! If you haven't already, log in, scroll down to the bottom of the main course page to list your chosen final project article next to your own name; brag a little about your work (or just ask questions!) on the course talk page; and join the live lecture tomorrow as we move towards completion of the course! This is when things get exciting. :) Looking forward to seeing you in class! - Sara FB (talk) 23:39, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Week 6 of WIKISOOHi Shangkuanlc! Just checking in as we head into the final week of the Writing Wikipedia Articles class. You can look through last week's ether pad notes, check out your homework assignments from Week 5, and watch last week's lecture on YouTube - all right here. Check out my note from last week (above) if you're still diving into your Final Project... or head over to the course talk page to see if anyone else is having the same issues you are! Looking forward to seeing you in the last live webinar of the session tomorrow. Big WikiLove. -Sara FB (talk) 23:19, 31 March 2014 (UTC) Commons uploadHi. If I heard correctly, you were asking about (video) tutorials about uploading videos to commons? Check outreach:Bookshelf, which has a few printable guides (PDFs) for teaching people, and also has a link to File:Wikipedia_basics_-_Uploading_files_to_Wikimedia_Commons.ogv Hope that helps. :) Quiddity (talk) 19:59, 9 August 2014 (UTC) Re : OTRSWe are trying to see how OTRS can be made easier to understand and use. Is there any specific issues you need assistance on? (I can speak Chinese, if you wish). - Mailer Diablo 13:45, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Tracking tables for the translation projectMany thanks for helping with the project. We have moved the tracking tables to google doc as they are easier to manage. Let me know if you have any question and please continue updating / working there. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:49, 27 November 2014 (UTC) Re : How could a local chapter assist the copyright donation process?Hi Liang, You could try and put the same set of questions to the permissions email address listed on OTRS, and they will provide a more precise answer. I am not entirely familiar with Taiwanese copyright law, and this case seems a bit complex (given that the original creator has deceased and the assignment of rights have changed hands a couple of times). I think some legal documentation would be required to prove who holds the copyright to the content (that is probably the issue), and the rest of the process should be easier. - Regards, Mailer Diablo 14:08, 11 February 2015 (UTC) Nomination for deletion of Template:Astronomical institutions in TaiwanTemplate:Astronomical institutions in Taiwan has been nominated for deletion. Featured Picture nominationHi Liang, Hope you got back all right. Great staying, travelling, chatting you over the last week – looking forward to more! If I could bother you a second... I submitted my "Tiny Planet" of the Last Supper sculpture in Esino Lario for Featured Picture on the English Wikipedia. If you think it qualifies, could you please support my nomination? Thanks in advance, Greetings from Sword-bridge!Hi Liang, How's it going? Hope you're well-rested from our Italian trip. Firstly, many thanks for supporting my Featured Pic nomination, though at the end I had to withdraw the nomination as I wasn't able to fix the stitching errors due to my handheld shots – last week was hectic... Anyway, if it's of any interest to you, I've been toying a bit more on SVG today:
and also wrote up a bit on our discussion and experience at Wikimania. Take care and have fun! Disambiguation link notification for July 18Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wincor Nixdorf, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Taiwanese. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. Best wishes,
Some sugarcane for you!
Promoting MediaWiki?Hey, Shang Kuan! My friend, Cindy met you during Wikimania 2018. She said you were talking with a company you know about getting a wiki set up for them. She suggested I could help you, so I thought I'd reach out. Feel free to email me if you want to follow up.☠MarkAHershberger☢(talk)☣ 19:48, 20 July 2018 (UTC) Your thread has been archived
