Why can't I edit some particular pages?

Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.

How do I create an article?

See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.

How do I create citations?

1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

Please get consensus about Chechnya

Hi,

The addition of Chechnya to the infobox was previously, as I’m sure you’re aware (since you replied without elaboration there), discussed on the talk page after a post by a new editor. Due to a relative lack of editor participation, the matter dropped thanks to auto-archive.

Surely you didn’t interpret that as “silence is consensus”?

It looks like Michael Z., the only other EC editor in the discussion besides the two of us to reply, merely took issue with a few points I had made about the DPR/LPR in my lengthy response to OP, rather than actually supporting the original proposal.

If you think it’s worth a new TP discussion, you could of course start one.

Turning a redirect into a disambiguation page

I notice your conversion of the Shah Cheragh attack redirect into a disambiguation page was reverted, with the comment: "Please create the article about the "2023 Shah Cheragh attack" first before converting this redirect into a disambiguation page." While moving the article to include the year follows the naming conventions for events, please also note that guideline WP:D2D applies. The important take-away point is that before one disambiguates, all the disambiguated articles need to exist. Even then, if there are just two articles to disambiguate, one can get away with hatnotes to the other article. Hello, I come from the Talk page of the Israeli war crimes. We seem to have reached a consensus already (Support) and the 7 days of discussion have already passed, so why isn't it renamed yet? From the looks of it a sock puppet account has been emaling people to vote in his favor and new people appeared to vote Oppose. I think that's not a good thing. Some quick advise

Hey Parham wiki. So, I wanted to maybe suggest you maybe not respond to every oppose comment for the Talk:2023 Hamas attack on Israel#Requested move 1 November 2023 discussion. That is somewhat like bludgeoning, which is not good. It isn't like you are going to get blocked for it, especially since you may not have known about it, but you should probably stop replying to the RM and let the consensus and discussion go where it is going to go (whichever way that may be). I mention this because actually in that previous RM that I mentioned in my !vote on, I actually got called out for bludgeoning the process, i.e. responding to a ton of comments different than mine. It is up to you on whether or not you want to continue commenting in the discussion, but for me at least, when I was called out for potentially bludgeoning, I just all-together stopped commenting. On Genocide Navbox

[4] [5] You added Palestinian Genocide, whilst there was an ongoing discussion on the matter in the page which had not reached consensus. Furthermore, you added Second Holocaust to balance it, or for NPOV. Second Holocaust is about fear of another holocaust. You must be careful in not mixing in the subjects. I removed both, but just make sure you pay attention to the different details. Trying to put two sides doesn't make it NPOV necessarily. That's part of the beauty and complexity of Neutrality :).

It's recognized that a genocide is being committed, whether that's RS or not. I specifically said we institutionally drink kool-aid and age ourselves by semantically failing to grasp the situation; there was nothing personal about it, nor any direct accusation beyond the governments involved. Reverting talk is a bad look and it's telling me I need to take Wikipedia to task even more. Remember the Jerusalem RfC? Pepperidge Farms remembers. We had a certain widespread CoI problem leading up to 2007 which needed a lasting solution. It didn't take. Lots more RfC potential this time around. Here's a page I created for tracking outline drafts, that shows the date of the latest edit for each.

Such as for this outline draft you created: Draft:Outline of the Iran hostage crisis.

Drafts that haven't been edited in 6 months get deleted from draft space. This list lets us see if any drafts are getting close to the 6-month danger date. Once an edit is made to an outline draft, the date for it in this list automatically updates.
