Good morning. You have edited the template {{Uruguayan elections}} by erasing the line about internal elections, and you wrote in the edit summary: "The presidential primaries are subsets of the presidential articles – don't think they need their own line here". Please, let me kindly disagree. As a Uruguayan, I very well know that our internal elections meant a HUGE revolution in our election system. According to our previous constitution, up to 1994 there were simultaneous primaries and general elections in November, sometimes with appalling results (for instance, candidates that won the presidential election with less than 25% of the popular vote, in a formerly two-party system). Then came a new constitution into force in 1997 with changes in the election sytem. And as I said, the introduction of the internal election system meant a huge, positive change for the representativeness of our democracy: since 1999, internal elections are held in June, and presidential elections in October, inbetween the parties have to wholly reorganize in order to garner internal support for the chosen candidate, etc. Last, but not least: I know that some "internal election" articles-to-be are redirected to the "general election" articles; I do have the firm intention to write those articles by their own right. So, with all due respect: I don't want to begin an "edit war". Please, reconsider your decision. Thanks in advance. I am not the first person to remove the links (I think you have tried to add them three times now); Aréat also removed them so probably should be involved in the conversation. IMO this is simply part of the presidential election (a sub-article of the general election one) and I don't think worthy of its own row in the template. Thanks for the ping. Yes, @Fadesga:, primaries are often an important part of a presidential election system, nobody saying they're unimportant. They sure are in Uruguay as you detailled. However, they're not the election of the officials themselves. The templates are about the direct election of the executives and legislatives branch of governement, not the process leading to it. Primaries should be plentily explained and linked on each election page, but I don't think they should be added to the template, as primaries aren't elections, but a selection process leading to it.
