Wiki Loves Pride 2016

As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:09, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Costco

I notice that, back in May, you removed the footprint map from the Costco article - and wisely so. (I'm glad folks keep an eye on that sort of thing.) I've made an updated map; File:Costco_footprint_map_USA_2021-01.png. Personally, I often have misgivings about where, in an article, to add a footprint map. May I defer to your experience?        —  BoringJim (talk) 02:24, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @BoringJim: Thanks for updating the map! I'm assuming the blue dots are the business center locations right? Is there a way you can label that in the map? JayJayWhat did I do? 03:11, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JayJay: yes, I can do that, if you think it's a good idea. Generally, I prefer to avoid putting a legend in a map (especially the larger ones, and particularly when there's only two categories), instead preferring it be put in the image descriptor, such as in Somerset Trust Company. But, I defer to your expertise. I'll prepare the change if you still think it's a good idea.        —  BoringJim (talk) 03:23, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@BoringJim: I think in that case a legend won't be needed and I will just attach it as a image descriptor. JayJayWhat did I do? 03:54, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bryan Cherry Band Page Deletion

Hello JayJay, Happy 2021... Writing to you in hopes the Bryan Cherry Band band page can be re-instated or re-constructed in the proper manner for Wiki existence. The original page has been live since 2007 or so & had several press links establishing 'credibility' that have since been removed from servers, etc. I am happy to try to provide a better version of the article along with links/etc.

Bryon Cherry is a published poet, writer & actor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who is also known as Bryan Cherry/Bryan Cherry Band when performing as singer/songwriter since 2006.

Poetry: Cherry's work has appeared in "Return to the Gathering Waters Anthology" by Vegetarian Alcoholic Press and "Permeable to the Year" by The Subtle Forces. Books include Funeral Journey on The Quail Press and Ruins, Ruminations, and Rituals on Anarcho Welfare.

Music: Bryan Cherry has released six albums since 2006 with long-time collaborator, producer & lap steel guitarist Sean Williamson, known for creating the first heavy metal lap steel band under the moniker Velocihamster.

Acting: Bryan Cherry has appeared in The Jeffrey Dahmer Files (2012).

Hi, thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately, your suggested edits to the article are still not enough to meet our standards, see WP:BAND for more details. Specifically criterion 1 states the band may be notable if it "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself." The references you suggested do not meet the criteria, specifically because they do not relate to the Bryan Cherry Band or mention it. Furthermore, given that you are part of the band it is a clear Conflict of Interest and I would suggest reading our policy relating to Conflicts of Interest. Thanks, JayJayWhat did I do? 21:24, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jen McEwen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Attorney. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Moises Rules!

Don't we have articles on TV shows that only had a few episodes? Are the citation issues over whether or not the show existed? Because as unorthodox as it seemed, it did. If the article for the short-lived Disney XD series Moises Rules! can't be kept, then perhaps it should be redirected either to the one on Moisés Arias himself, or to Disney XD. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 04:38, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DanTD, I don't know if this would be considered a TV show given that each episode lasted 3 minutes and there was only 4 episodes. This type of show was typically shown during commercial breaks. A redirect to List of programs broadcast by Disney XD would make the most sense, oddly enough there is no mention of this series in the 'Short Series' section. If you do not object, I will add this series to the section and redirect there. JayJayWhat did I do? 05:03, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That seems reasonable, but they did these kinds of short interstitial series during commercial breaks a lot. Shows like "Two More Eggs" were aired in the same manner. I'd be perfectly willing to accept a redirect there. Two notes; it should be in the Short series segment, and that chart should be reformatted to include a "Formats" section like the "D|XP" segment, so we can keep a few details from the existing article. -------User:DanTD (talk) 14:46, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
