Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

I made that page and I have provided the sources in the references section , I suggest you give it a look like reading them as It states some 70+ injured policemen and hundreds of protestors arrested 10 may to 11 may GamerHashaam (talk) 10:27, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You didn’t cite any references in the casualties box. You simply just stated “per Pakistani media” and “per local sources” without specifying any sources. You have to use citations.
Being the creator of a page does not mean the page belongs to you nor does it give you any sort of privileges. You have to discuss changes in the talk page regardless if disagreements arise. VirtualVagabond (talk) 12:56, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve also cited the killed policeman and the three killed protestors for you. VirtualVagabond (talk) 12:57, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Its reported 4 in some newspapers and wiki allows all sides to tell there story rather then be biased towards one thus I added the local reports from the DHQ that estimates at 13-15 protestors shot dead by rangers with hundred injured GamerHashaam (talk) 07:46, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Third Balochistan conflict shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. VirtualVagabond (talk) 22:19, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Currently you have started a editor war by reverting my edit constantly without providing any source or other citation for a pakistani victory. GamerHashaam (talk) 22:22, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Third Balochistan conflict, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Abolition and Baloch. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Baloch people into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:12, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks but I am new , I know plagarism is wrong so could you assist me ? GamerHashaam (talk) 19:13, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, basically just comply with the above notice. The page you created, Baloch genocide, seems to be in parts a conglomeration of the leads of various baloch-related articles. It would be much better to simply summarise those articles when necessary, and add sources, but if you insist on copying leads over to this article, please add attribution as I have laid out above. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:16, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
could you do one attribution on the page as a example for me how to do it? GamerHashaam (talk) 19:17, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I would only do so if I were copying text over to a different article. As said above, when copying content from one article to another, please add the wording "copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution" in your edit summary. Where it says "page name", change that to the page you copied the text from. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I use visual editor and not source editor as It seems bit complex to me GamerHashaam (talk) 19:20, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can do this with either editor. Simply paste the text I said into your edit summary, which does not require the source editor. Read the edit summary page if you do not understand. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:22, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello could tell me how to do it , I want to fix it but I don't understand how to do it , If you could tell me how to do it or do it yourself , It would be immense help. GamerHashaam (talk) 18:08, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fix what? If you mean the copyright problem, I fixed most of it, but you should be generally aware not to copy content from other sources. See WP:COPYVIO. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 18:11, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It says there are copyright problems on the page so how do I fix that also my apologizes for copying content. Could I still use it although in my own text? for example the keelkor thing can I write it by my own self and publish? GamerHashaam (talk) 18:21, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you take the facts from the sources and write it in your own words, that would be fine, yes. The copyright thing at the top of the page has already been dealt with as the problematic content was deleted by me, but an administrator is likely to delete the past page revisions as they have copyright violations. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 18:22, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
which past page revisions , I wanna rewrite it in my words GamerHashaam (talk) 18:28, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Revisions 1227442616 to 1227945283, as said at the top. You can rewrite the content in your own words, just don't add back the text that was deleted due to copyright concerns. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 18:31, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
is 1227442616 in background ? GamerHashaam (talk) 18:37, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean? The three major copyright violations were in the demands section, the keelkor raid section, and the paragraph above the "Rape of Baloch women" section. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 18:40, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright alright I see , I will write a proper one soon when I am free , Thanks for telling me and assisting me GamerHashaam (talk) 19:04, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
