Request on 15:06:22, 25 July 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by Eazuri
Thank you very much for reviewing my draft page! I am requesting assistance because my submission has been declined multiple times before and each time I do my best to correct/implement the points raised in reviews, it seems that I am failing. I could just stop editing, but I am a beginner at this and I put enough effort into this to not leave it unfinished. I know people who know him and we have the same profession, but I do not have a conflict of interest, as far as I can tell. I am rather new to Wikipedia editing, so I thought I would start with an article about a personality that (to the best of my knowledge and according to my personal experiences) is quite well-known in Hungary and that I know a lot about. He has a page on the Hungarian Wikipedia, I translated most of that text to English then added practically all of the trustworthy information I could find on him online (with sources from his universities, organizations that he has taken part in, written media, media programmes that he appears in, interviews with him about himself, etc.). 1. I am usually receiving the feedback that the sources seem unreliable (even though I am using official and well-known, non-partisan sources when I could find them). I used the same ones as the Hungarian Wiki page (I speak Hungarian and have checked each of them), and many more. 2. The other point is relevance. Among my acquaintances in Hungary, most say they know of him. He works a lot with businesses and politicians and (based on what I know of him) he plays quite an active part in shaping policies and public opinion through his consultancy and media appearances. He is active in the Brussels bubble and I thought that writing about him could not only be a good first try for me, but also useful for non-Hungarians who encounter him there. It seems that in trying to prove his relevance, I somehow ended up using promotional language. I have read the guidelines on that and tried to find "peacock terms" and such, but could not point out where I misstepped. The only thing I can think of is "He has gained more and more recognition since the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022." - sourced, because that is what the referenced article says about him. If you could help me with any of these points, point out specific mistakes and such, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance, I hope it is not too big of a trouble, I just thought you might be the best person to ask for help. Eazuri (talk) 15:06, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Three Dikgosi MonumentOn 7 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Three Dikgosi Monument, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that some minority ethnic groups in Botswana view the Three Dikgosi Monument as a proclamation of Motswana dominance? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Three Dikgosi Monument (2nd nomination). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Three Dikgosi Monument), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. DCWC closing updateThe 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest has come to a close! After a thrilling finish to the event with a slew of submissions on the final day, we have our winners. With 608 points, Thebiguglyalien (submissions) comes in third with his series of Kiribati and Botswanan submissions; BeanieFan11 (submissions) flies into second place at the last second with 771 points after a string of good articles about sportspersons; and after leading for much of contest's three months, Generalissima (submissions) finishes with a whopping 798 points to take home the Gold Belt Buckle. Congratulations to our winners! In addition to his spot in the top three, BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins the special awards for submitting under the most countries (44 countries) and for writing the most articles about women (15 Did you know? nominations)! Magentic Manifestations (submissions), after making 16 submissions under the Indian flag—15 of them good articles—receives the awards for most submissions for a single country and most featured or good articles promoted. For their submission of one FAC review, five FLC reviews, and 20 GAN reviews, Simongraham (submissions) wins for most article reviews. The results of the contest have far exceeded any expectations the coordinators had for it at the beginning: among the submissions to the event were 3 FAs, 10 FLs, 88 GAs, dozens of article reviews of every kind, and more Did you know? submissions than we can count! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that... We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.
