At the time of the 2006 National Census, Choghamish's population was 1,967 in 380 households, when it was a village in Choghamish Rural District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,113 people in 434 households,[7] by which time Choghamish had been elevated to the status of a city.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,013 people in 505 households.[2]
