Dehdez (Persian: دهدز)[a] is a city in the Central District[b] of Dezpart County, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It was the administrative center for Dehdez Rural District[5] until its capital was transferred to the village of Deh Kohneh-ye Muzarm.[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 3,610 in 651 households,[6] when it was the capital of Dehdez District[c] of Izeh County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 4,920 residents in 994 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 5,490 people in 1,312 households.[2]

In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Dezpart County and renamed the Central District.[4]

Climate

Dehdez has a Mediterranean-influenced humid continental climate (Köppen: "Dsa"), with cold winters, hot summers, and mild springs and autumns.
