Dehdez (Persian : دهدز )[ a] is a city in the Central District [ b] of Dezpart County , Khuzestan province, Iran , serving as capital of both the county and the district.[ 4] It was the administrative center for Dehdez Rural District [ 5] until its capital was transferred to the village of Deh Kohneh-ye Muzarm .[ 4]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 3,610 in 651 households,[ 6] when it was the capital of Dehdez District [ c] of Izeh County .[ 7] The following census in 2011 counted 4,920 residents in 994 households.[ 8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 5,490 people in 1,312 households.[ 2]
In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Dezpart County and renamed the Central District .[ 4]
Climate
Dehdez has a Mediterranean-influenced humid continental climate (Köppen : "Dsa"), with cold winters, hot summers, and mild springs and autumns.
