The Central District of Shadegan County (Persian : بخش مرکزی شهرستان شادگان ) is in Khuzestan province, Iran . Its capital is the city of Shadegan .[ 3]
History
After the 2006 National Census, Khanafereh Rural District [ a] was separated from the district in the formation of Khanafereh District .[ 4] After the 2011 census, Darkhoveyn Rural District and the city of Darkhoveyn were separated from the Central District in forming Darkhoveyn District .[ 5]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the Central District's population was 138,226 in 23,813 households.[ 6] The following census in 2011 counted 127,222 people in 28,759 households.[ 7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 98,986 inhabitants in 25,951 households.[ 2]
