Abu Abdullah Harun bun Musa al-'Ataki al-A'war (w. 170 H/786 M) adalah seorang tokoh awal yang berpindah dari agama Yahudi ke Islam dan cendekiawan bahasa Arab dan kajian Islam.[1] Ia menjadi mualaf saat hidup di antara suku Azd, dan kemudian diatributkan kepada suku tersebut.[2] Ia berafiliasi dengan mazhab Basran dari tata bahasa Arab. Sebagai spesialis dalam leksikografi, al-A'war berkontribusi secara signifikan pada kajian Qira'at, atau ragam bacaan al-Qur'an,[3] dan pengkompilasi formal pertama dari gaya pengutipan ulang yang berbeda.[2][4][5][6][7] Periode paling aktifnya, dimana karyanya ditandai oleh perkembangan baru dalam kajian leksikografi terkait al-Qur'an, berlangsung dari 752 sampai kematiannya.[8]
