Azmi Bishara
Azmi Bishara (dengarkanⓘ bahasa Arab: عزمي بشارة dengarkanⓘ, bahasa Ibrani: עזמי בשארה dengarkanⓘ, lahir 22 Juli 1956 di Nazaret, Israel), mantan anggota Knesset (parlemen Israel), adalah seorang intelektual, akademisi, politikus, dan penulis asal Palestina.[1]
Pada tahun 2007, Bishara mengungsi dari Israel dan mengundurkan diri dari Knesset setelah ditanyai oleh polisi atas dugaan membantu dan memberikan informasi kepada musuh selama masa perang, berhubungan dengan agen luar negeri, dan menerima dana dalam jumlah besar yang ditransfer dari negara lain. Bishara membantah tuduhan-tuduhan tersebut.[2] Pada bulan Februari 2011, Parlemen Israel mengesahkan "RUU Bishara", dan kemudian memungut suara untuk mencoret Bishara dari sejumlah tunjangan parlemennya, termasuk pensiun sebesar NIS 7.228 per bulan yang diterimanya sebagai mantan anggota Knesset.[3]
Bishara telah menulis dalam berbagai topik. Ia saat ini menjabat sebagai direktur umum Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (Doha Institute) dan menetap di Qatar.[4]
