This template provides a simple conversion IPA symbol to a Wikipedia article name. Its direct use is probably not too meaningful, but it can be useful inside other templates, e.g. {{IPA link}}. It is a meta-template.

The resulting article name should exist. The input symbol may be multiple characters.

Sử dụng

Bản mẫu này chỉ cần một tham số duy nhất, đó là mẫu tự IPA hoặc chuỗi mẫu tự IPA. Việc dùng bản mẫu định dạng như {{IPA}} là không cần thiết.

Certain symbols such as the tie bars, length marks, and dotted circle in the input are ignored so long as the rest of the input matches a definition, so that the below do not result in errors even though these individual combinations are not defined in the data.

If no direct match is found, the template will then look for the earliest instance of a diacritic in the input string.

• {{IPA symbol|pæ̃}} → Nguyên âm mũi

A two-character diacritic takes precedence over a one-character one should they be found at the same position.

• {{IPA symbol|ʰpa}} → Preaspiration

Some symbols in the input are automatically replaced by the more suitable counterparts.

• {{IPA symbol|’|output=symbol}} (right single quotation mark) → ʼ (modifier letter apostrophe)

Dữ liệu

Dữ liệu được lưu trữ ở Module:IPA symbol/data. Chúng được chia thành hai nhóm: "sounds" và "diacritics". Nếu không có "article" được định rõ, giá trị "name" sẽ thay thế. Dấu phụ phải là một hoặc hai mẫu tự Unicode. Dữ liệu cũng chứa các kiểu mẫu thay thế cho xâu đầu vào.

Lỗi

Nếu đầu vào không khớp với dữ liệu, bản mẫu sẽ biểu thị một dòng báo lỗi và trang sử dụng bản mẫu sẽ được thêm vào Thể loại:International Phonetic Alphabet pages needing attention.

Tùy chọn, dòng báo lỗi mặc định có thể được sửa đổi bằng cách sử dụng tham số thứ hai (nếu đặt là blank, dòng báo lỗi sẽ không hiển thị). Điều này sẽ không làm cho trang bị thêm vào thể loại lỗi như đã đề cập bên trên.
