ลัทธิฮหว่าหาว

ฮหว่าหาว (เวียดนาม: Hòa Hảo) เป็นขบวนการทางศาสนา[1]ที่ได้รับการกล่าวถึงเป็นศาสนาพื้นเมืองแบบผสานความเชื่อหรือเป็นลัทธิของศาสนาพุทธ จัดตั้งใน ค.ศ. 1939 โดยฮหวิ่ญ ฟู้ โส (ค.ศ. 1920–1947) ซึ่งผู้นับถือมองเป็นนักบุญ[2] ลัทธินี้เป็นหนึ่งในศาสนาหลักของประเทศเวียดนามที่มีผู้นับถือระหว่างหนึ่งล้านถึง 8 ล้านคน ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในดินดอนสามเหลี่ยมปากแม่น้ำโขง

ปรัชญาทางศาสนาของฮหว่าหาวคือศาสนาพุทธ โดยมีการปฏิรูป[3][4] และปรับปรุงความเชื่อพื้นเมือง Bửu Sơn Kỳ Hương ที่มีอายุนานกว่าในภูมิภาคนี้[5] และมีคุณสมบัติเสมือนลัทธิสหัสวรรษ[6]

ในช่วงสงครามอินโดจีนครั้งที่หนึ่ง ความไม่ลงรอยกันกับกลุ่มใหญ่อื่น ๆ ทำให้ฮหว่าหาวกลายเป็นลัทธิศาสนา-การเมือง-การทหารที่ก้าวร้าว เหวียตมิญลักพาตัวโสขณะเดินทางกลับจากการประชุมแก้ปัญหาลัทธิคอมมิวนิสต์ที่ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จและประหารชีวิตเขา ผู้นับถือฮหว่าหาวหลายคนยกให้เขาเป็นพระเมสสิยาห์ที่จะปรากฏในช่วงวิกฤต[7] ทำให้ลัทธินี้ทำสงครามต่อพวกคอมมิวนิสต์ โดยระบุเป็น "กองกำลังต่อต้านเหวียตมิญที่แข็งแกร่งที่สุดของประเทศ"[8] ถึงประนั้น ลัทธิฮหว่าหาวกับองค์ทางศาสนา-การเมืองกลุ่มอื่น ยังคงครอบงำเวียดนามใต้ทั้งในทางการเมืองและสังคมในคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1950 โดยอ้างสิทธิ์ในการจัดตั้งเวียดนามใต้ที่ไม่ใช่คอมมิวนิสต์[9]

การเรียกขาน

ชื่อ

ฮหว่าหาวเป็นขบวนการทางศาสนาใหม่[1] และตั้งชื่อตามฮหว่าหาว (Hòa Hảo;[2] ภาษาเวียดนาม: [ɗâːwˀ hwàː hâːw] ^ⓘ; Chữ Hán: แม่แบบ:Vi)[11] หมู่บ้านของผู้ก่อตั้ง ซึ่งปัจจุบันอยู่ในอำเภอ Thốt Nốt จังหวัดอานซาง ประเทศเวียดนาม[12] บางครั้งมีการเรียกชื่อเป็น ฮหว่า-หาว,[13] ลัทธิฮหว่าหาว,[14] พุทธฮหว่าหาว[2][15] (Phật Giáo Hòa Hảo)[16] รัฐบาลคอมมิวนิสต์สมัยใหม่เปลี่ยนชื่อหมู่บ้านฮหว่าหาวเป็น Phú Mỹ[17]

เดิมทีมีการเรียกผู้ติดตามลัทธินี้ว่า Dao Xen ตามชื่อเล่นในวัยเด็กของโส[18]

การจัดกลุ่ม

ตามธรรมเนียม กลุ่มศาสนานี้[19]ถูกจัดเป็นลัทธิ[7][20][21][22]ของศาสนาพุทธ[23][24] นายพล โจเซฟ ลอว์ตัน คอลลินส์ ผู้เคยทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้แทนพิเศษของสหรัฐในประเทศเวียดนาม กล่าวถึงฮหว่าหาวเป็น "ลัทธิศาสนาเทียม" โดยระบุว่าเป็นลัทธิที่ "ดึงดูดชาวนาที่เลื่อมใสในศาสนาพุทธและเป็นระบบพ่อปกครองลูกที่ได้รับการป้องกัน"[8]

ลัทธิฮหว่าหาวก่อตั้งโดยฮหวิ่ญ ฟู้ โส (1919–1947)[30] ชาวเวียดนามที่เกิดในครอบครัวผู้ถือครองรายย่อยที่นับถือศาสนาคริสต์นิกายโรมันคาทอลิกใน ค.ศ. 1919[31][16][32]

รายงานจากงานวิจัย ภารกิจค้นหาข้อเท็จจริงในประเทศเวียดนาม ของ UK Home Office ใน ค.ศ. 2019 ฮหว่าหาวเป็นศาสนาที่มีผู้นับถือมากเป็นอันดับ 4 ของประเทศเวียดนาม[33] ส่วนรายงาน International Religious Freedom Report ของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐใน ค.ศ. 2019 ระบุว่า ตามการประมาณการของรัฐบาลสหรัฐ เวียดนามมีประชากรทั้งหมด 97.9 ล้านคน[34] และสถิติของรัฐบาลเวียดนามในเดือนมกราคม ค.ศ. 2018 พบว่าผู้นับถือลัทธิฮหว่าหาวมีประมาณ 1.5% ของประชากรเวียดนามทั้งหมด[35] โดยมีจำนวนประมาณการอย่างเป็นทางการที่ 1.3 ล้านคน ถึงแม้ว่าประมาณการอย่าง "ไม่เป็นทางการ" จะอยู่ที่มากกว่า 2 ล้านคนก็ตาม[36] ข้อมูลอื่น ๆ ระบุผู้นับถือลัทธิฮหว่าหาวที่ประมาณ 500,000–1 ล้านคน,[37] 4–5 ล้านคน[38] หรือ 8 ล้านคน[39]

ผู้นับถือลัทธิฮหว่าหาวส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในเวียดนามตอนใต้ ส่วนในเวียดนามตอนกลางมีผู้นับถือ "น้อยมาก" และเกือบไม่มีผู้นับถือลัทธินี้ในเวียดนามตอนเหนือ[40]

มีการจัดตั้งชุมชนโพ้นทะเลประมาณช่วงปลายคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1970 ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในสหรัฐ, ออสเตรเลีย,[40] แคนาดา,[17] และชุมชนขนาดเล็กในฝรั่งเศส,[41] เยอรมนี และเบลเยียม[17] ประมาณว่ามีผู้นับถือลัทธิฮหว่าหาวที่อาศัยอย๔่ต่างประเทศหมื่นกว่าคน[17] ชุมชนที่มีผู้นับถือลัทธิฮหว่าหาวมากที่สุดอยู่ที่แซนตาแอนา รัฐแคลิฟอร์เนีย[14]
