perspektívne by bolo asi žiadúce doplniť ešte aspoň mapovanie hu a de znakov, keďže maďarské/nemecké názvy sa tu hojne vyskytujú a momentálne budú takéto znaky s diakritikou radené až za Z, pričom sk/cs/pl budú radené korektne, čo môže miasť
pri rozsiahlych tabuľkách môže táto úprava spôsobiť spomalenie zoraďovania
Zdravím. Kolega Rosičák pozakladal predbežné verzie šablón pre jednotnú prezentáciu odkazov na autoritné záznamy k biografiám a dielam. Centrálna šablóna je {{Autoritné údaje}}, bežné použitie je prosté vloženie bez parametrov, jednotlivé identifikátory štandardne čerpá z dátovej položky k osobe/dielu na Wikiúdajoch.
Ak by sme chceli (po vzore ostatných wikipédií, kde sa to už nejaký čas rutinne používa) šablónu hromadnejšie využívať, prípadne doplniť do relevantných článkov strojovo, bude zrejme treba doriešiť ešte minimálne nasledovné:
dohodnúť sa, či to pokladáme za žiadúce a odsúhlasiť si formu (štandardne navbar na konci článku, pred navigačnými lištami)
pozakladať/poprekladať heslá k samotnej autoritnej kontrole a jednotlivým autoritám, aby bolo čitateľovi zrejmé o čo ide a neboli tam červené odkazy
@Pelex: Nejaký náznak existuje, viď knižničný katalógový portál, sekcia Registre/Autority (prekliky adresované cez jedinečné ID vedú na MARC záznamy s identifikátorom, obsahujúcim to číslo, napr. 4801072 → vtls004801072 Dominik Tatarka). Netuším ale, či tie ID skutočne majú nejakú autoritatívnu váhu v rámci SR, výskyty na webe to nemá žiadne a prezentácia v samotnom katalógovom systéme je tiež dosť nešťastná, keďže neposkytuje ani len to málo, že by tam bol dostupný napr. zoznam diel dotyčného – tie sa tam riešia dotazmi s matchovaním cez meno [3], ktoré samozrejme v dôsledku toho nie sú jednoznačné. Podobne sú ale prezentované aj tie české, akurát je tam okrem MARC záznamu k dispozícii aj jeho naformátovaná podoba a odkaz na cswiki (jk01151037 Jaroslav Vrchlický) Asi by sme museli osloviť niekoho zo SNK, aby potvrdil, či ich má zmysel evidovať a linkovať, prípadne či náhodou nie je v pláne nejaký iný autoritný systém a pod. A ak by bol záver ten, že to zmysel má, museli by sa spárovať s WD položkami (buď cez iné autoritné identifikátory, napr. WorldCat, ak by knižničiari vedeli dodať export s oboma, alebo poloautomaticky s manuálnou kontrolou podľa mien) a naimportovať na WD. V každom prípade, bude to vyžadovať komunikáciu a možno aj dosť roboty, takže nasadenie by som kvôli tomu neodsúval, ďalšia autorita sa dá do šablóny kedykoľvek doplniť – pri evidencii na WD bez úprav článkov. --Teslaton (diskusia) 17:50, 10. január 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]

Vývoj MW je živý, lokalizačné reťazce sa občas spájajú/delia, pribežne vznikajú nové, mierne odlišné, pokrývajúce veci, ktoré boli predtým vyjadrené inak a pod, pričom českých prekladateľov je viac a sú aktívnejší, takže tieto prípady pokrývajú spravidla rýchlejšie než slovenskí. Nevidím v tom ale žiaden reálny problém, nie som háklivý na každý kúsok češtiny, ćo sa tu niekde mihne, takže to kvôli tomu osobne určite neplánujem riešiť pravidelnejšie. Nuž nemyslím že je to až tak zanedbateľné, keď už vítačka je v češtine, to mi príde dosť absurdné. No a nie každému tá čeština až tak nevadí ako tebe. Čo sa týka tých spomínaných zmien, nevidím dôvod ak nedôjde ku zmene znenia nahrádzať slovenský text českým len z dôvodu aktualizácie a podobne. Ja by som sa tomu aj povenoval, už v minulosti som skúšal robiť nejaké preklady, no ako rýchlo som začal, tak rýchlo som aj skončil. Ide o to, že okrem prekladu treba vytvoriť aj typograficky korektnú stránku, navyše ide o frázy, ktoré v angličtine možno preložiť rozlične, takže treba poznať skutočný význam frázy z originálneho kontextu. Keďže nie som až tak počítačovo zručný, tak som hneď rezignoval. Ad "nevidím dôvod ak nedôjde ku zmene znenia nahrádzať slovenský text českým len z dôvodu aktualizácie a podobne": to že ty nevidíš dôvod realitu nezmení, jednoducho v momente nasadenia novej verzie MW, kde vývojári v rámci úprav nejakej funkcionality zriadili trebárs 6 nových lokalizačných položiek, ktoré nahradili dajme tomu 4 staršie hlášky na nejakej konkrétnej obrazovke (typické takéto často menené veci sú momentálne napr. automatické zhrnutia akcií v logoch a RC, zhrnutia v Echo notifikačných zoznamoch) sa na skwiki začne tých 6 nových položiek zobrazovať po anglicky resp. v momente keď na TW príde Matěj Suchánek (čo je často ešte pred nasadením tej verzie na skwiki/cswiki, pretože to sleduje na iných projektoch, kam sa releasy nasádzajú skôr) a tých 6 položiek lokalizuje do češtiny, budú sa tu zobrazovať po česky, až kým tam nepríde slovenský lokalizátor (pár rokov dozadu typicky Helix, Sudo, posledné roky typicky ja, resp. pri hláškach z mobilných aplikácií Kusavica) a nelokalizuje ich. Ak by si prišiel do styku s vývojom ľubovoľnej väčšej, priebežne aktualizovanej multijazyčnej aplikácie, neprišlo by ti to nijak divné – reťazce proste pri úpravách priebežne vznikajú/zanikajú a vývojár nemá šancu snažiť sa tie nové vykombinovať zo starých, môže jedine založiť nové v primárnom jazyku, ktorému rozumie a dosynchronizovanie všetkých prekladov do sekundárnych nechať na prekladateľoch. Pri komerčnom projekte sa to musí logisticky ustrážiť a pred každým releasom sa to rozhodí po zmluvných prekladateľoch, ktorí to k nejakému deadlajnu poprekladajú. Pri dobrovoľníckom projekte nič také neexistuje, všetko závisí od toho, kto si kedy nájde čas a chuť, riešiť práve toto a nie niečo iné.
K P.S.: neber to nijak v zlom, ale nie, to nemá žiaden zmysel takto 2-fázovo riešiť, zaberalo by to celé viac času, než keď to rovno poprekladám. Ak to ty osobne považuješ za prioritu, hodnú príslušnej pravidelnej investície svojho času a energie, zahĺb sa do toho a venuj sa tomu. Ja to za takú prioritu nepovažujem, spomínaná príležitostná hromadnejšia aktualizácia, keď sa toho nazbiera viac, mi vyhovuje.
Ano, treba to riešiť s ohľadom na kontext, dodržiavať pokiaľ možno konzistentne terminológiu (ktorú zaviedol trebárs už dávnejšie iný prekladateľ) a nepokaziť tam technické veci (vložené parametre, plurály, gendre). Tomu kontextu pomôže zobrazenie úplného listingu položiek (preložené aj nepreložené spoločne), zoradených podľa identifikátora reťazca, tam vidno jednak novovzniknuté "diery" v predtým už pokrytých prekladoch, dvak tam vidno pokope výrazy použité v príbuzných preložených hláškach, takže je podstatne väčšia šanca na konzistentný preklad, než keď si človek otvorí len jednu osamotenú hlášku, nájdenú trebárs cez český tvar vyhľadávaním a tú bez kontextu preloží. --Teslaton (diskusia) 20:54, 10. január 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]

There is a new magic word called {{PAGELANGUAGE}}. It returns the language of the page you are at. This can be used on wikis with more than one language to make it easier for translators. [11]
When an admin blocks a user or deletes or protects a page they give a reason why. They can now get suggestions when they write. The suggestions will be based on the messages in the dropdown menu. [12]
You will be able to use <chem> to write chemical formulas. Before you could use <ce>. <ce> should be replaced by <chem>. [13]
The "Columns" and "Rows" settings will be removed from the Editing tab in Preferences. If you wish to keep what the "Rows" setting did you can add this code to your personal CSS: #wpTextbox1 { height: 50em; } You can change the number 50 to make it look like you want to. [15]
Sometimes edits in MediaWiki by mistake are shown coming from private IP addresses such as 127.0.0.1. Edits and other contributions logged to these IP addresses will be blocked and shown the reason from MediaWiki:Softblockrangesreason. This should not affect most users. Bots and other tools running on Wikimedia Labs, including Tool Labs will receive a "blocked" error if they try to edit without being logged in. [16]

Almost two weeks ago, the Technical Collaboration team invited proposals for the first edition of the Developer Wishlist survey!
We collected around 77 proposals that were marked as suitable for the developer wishlist and met the defined scope and criteria. These proposals fall into the following nine categories: Frontend, Backend, Code Contribution (Process, Guidelines), Extensions, Technical Debt, Developer Environment, Documentation, Tools (Phabricator, Gerrit) and Community Engagement.
What happens next?

Tidy will be replaced later this year. Instead, the HTML 5 parsing algorithm will be used to clean up bad HTML in wikitext. This will cause problems on a number of wikis. They need to be fixed first. Recent changes
EventStreams is a new way to show activity on Wikimedia wikis. For now it works with the recent changes feed. It will do more things later. It will replace RCStream. Tools that use RCStream should move to EventStreams before 7 July. [28]
Problems
The Firefox add-onFirefogg can cause problems with the Upload Wizard. This will not be fixed, because Firefox will not support Firefogg in the future. The Upload Wizard will no longer work with Firefogg. [29]
Tool Labs and Wikimedia Labs databases will be under maintenance on 15 February. This will start at 17:00 (UTC) and last for about six hours. Some tools could have problems during or after this. [30]

How many columns you see will depend on how big your screen is. On some wikis, some templates already do this. Ahojte. Jedna aktualizácia pre tých, čo používajú WikiCitátor (nástroj alebo webovú verziu). K doterajšiemu generovaniu knižných citácií cez Google Books som pridal aj podporu generovania cez slovenský knižničný katalóg kis3g.sk (SNK/UKB/...). Pre slovenské a české publikácie je presnejší a s výrazne lepším pokrytím než Google Books.
Publikácia sa dá odkázať štandardne buď cez jej ISBN alebo (ak ide napr. o staršie dielo bez ISBN) cez URL na jej katalógovú položku na kis3g.sk:
Pre protokol: výstupy treba bať ako základ na prípadné doladenie. Na toto som už viac-menej odpovedal v diskusii u Kelovyho, tiež som to už raz riešil, keď som bez zjavných referencií pridával k niektorým obciam národnostné zloženia pre jednotlivé roky. Spoľahlivé zdroje sa nachádzajú v mojom laptope, keďže ale nie sú len tak dostupné na internete, ale ja nimi disponujem na vyžiadanie od Štatistického úradu, tak nemám potuchy, ako by som ich mohol uviesť ako zdroje. Nie, spoľahlivý zdroj "by def" nie je niečo na tvojom laptope. Musí ísť o citáciu zákona, ktorý definuje dvojjazyčné obce. Ak by tam bolo uvedené, že sa nimi stávajú automaticky po prekročení percentuálnej hranice napr. v oficiálnych údajoch o počete obyvateľov za uplynulý rok, dalo by sa vychádzať z údajov ŠÚ. Jasné, rozumiem. Čiže to, čo riešime v tej druhej diskusii. Ale ešte mám technickú otázku - v prípade, že naozaj stačí len dosiahnutie tej 20-percentnej hranice, ako by som potom odcitoval štatistiky priamo vo wikičlánku? Len by som do referencii ručne dopísal niečo v zmysle "Sčítanie obyvateľstva za rok 2011" bez nejakého URL linku? Alebo ako by sa to riešilo? Nedá sa ani naklikať ako zostava v tej ich dátovej kocke? Mal som pocit, že som tie národnostné údaje až po úroveň obcí nejaké roky dozadu z nejakého ŠÚ zdroja sťahoval. ŠÚ je ale bohužiaľ povestný chronickou nestabilitou formy online prezentovania všetkých údajov – zakladajú N rôznych účelových domén, niektoré potom presúvajú, iné bez náhrady rušia, menia URL schémy, atď. Napr. pôvodná Mestská a obecná štatistika (MOS/MIŠ), kde boli pekne linkovateľné údaje pre konkrétnu obec bola nahradená fasa dátovou kockou od IBM, kde sa ale podobný pohľad, aký bol triviálne dostupný v MOS/MIŠ nedá jednoducho získať a už vôbec nie nalinkovať cez nejaký permalink. --Teslaton (diskusia) 18:38, 17. marec 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Možno teraz už áno, ale ja, keď som na jeseň tie údaje zháňal, tak som ich takto nikde nenašiel. Vtedy som im napísal e-mail, kde sa dajú nájsť a oni mi v odpovedi rovno poslali tie databázy ako prílohy (excelovské tabuľky). Ale ako to je teraz, či to náhodou nejako nemenili, nemám šajn. Recent changes
The Save page button now says Publish page or Publish changes on the Wikimedia wikis except for Wikipedias and Wikinewses. This change will come to Wikipedias later. The point is to make it more clear that the edit will change the page immediately. Publish page is when you save a new page and Publish changes when you edit an existing page. [55]
You can see monthly page views when you click on Page information in the sidebar. Developers can also get monthly page views through the API. [57]
The Linter extension is now on smaller Wikimedia wikis. It helps editors find some wikitext errors so they can be fixed. It will come to other Wikimedia wikis later. The extension will be able to find more errors later. [58]
The MediaWiki-Vagrant portable development environment has been updated to use Debian Jessie. This means local development and testing will be more like on the majority of Wikimedia production servers. [59]
Problems
On 15 March some interwiki links to other languages were not correctly sorted. This has been fixed. If you still see pages where the interwiki links are not sorted as they should be, they should be fixed automatically with time or you can edit the page and save it without changing anything. If this doesn't work, please report it. [60]

Zdravím! Navrhujem mierne zmeny v prezidentských kategóriách. Kategóriu Kategória:Prezidenti Slovenska by som nechal len pre osoby čo zastávali tento úrad. Nad ňu by som vytvoril Kategória:Prezident Slovenskej republiky kde by som dal článok o prezidentovi, o čestnej stráži, kancelárii atď. Výhoda: prehľadnejšie zaradenie. Otázkou však je ako kategorizovať obe kategórie. Ďalšie vec: je prezident vlastne politik? Je hlavou štátu a nie je členom politickej strany. Nechal by som tam len kategóriu ústavných činiteľov. Riešenie je iný prehliadač alebo prepnutie na Vector. @Pe3kZA, Bubamara: Skúste pripojiť obsah JS konzoly [Ctrl+Shift+J] pre oba prípady – keď sa vám panel zobrazí a keď nie. Je šanca, že tam bude nejaký rozdiel, tzn. v druhom prípade o nejaký červený riadok s chybou navyše. Pôjde pravdepodobne o nejakú nenaplnenú závislosť, pričom pri asynchrónnom načítavaní zdrojov občas v momente volania naplnená je a občas nie. Na skwiki nikto moc neudržiava globálne ani redaktorské skripty v súlade s aktualizáciami MW, takže veci časom erodujú... Navyše klasický toolbar používa čoraz menej redaktorov, keďže ako default je predvolený rozšírený + ľudia prechádzajú na VisalEditor resp. od neho odvodený "nový" editor wikitextu. Some older web browsers will not be able to use JavaScript on Wikimedia wikis from this week. If you have an old web browser on your computer you can upgrade to a newer version. [72]
New filters for Recent changes will come to Wikidata and Persian, Russian, Turkish and French Wikipedia on 11 April. The schedule has been changed to fix the user intent prediction filters for some wikis. User intent prediction means the filter tries to make it easier for editors to determine if the edit was made in good faith or not. Other wikis will get it later. [73]

Page Previews shows readers a short part of a linked article when they rest their mouse pointer on the link. This is to help them understand what it is about without leaving the article they are reading. Page Previews used to be called Hovercards. Users who have tested the feature can give feedback. [78]

When administrators, bureaucrats and stewards make a user a member of a user group they can now set an expiry date. A user group is for example "administrators" or "bots". This means that they can give someone user rights for a limited time. This is similar to how blocks and page protections can be limited in time. Special:UserRights will have new options for this. You can read more about user groups.[82]

Since the data centre test last week the content translation tool has been disabled. This is because of a database problem. It will be back as soon as the problem has been solved. [83]

Môže v princípe ktokoľvek [86], má to ale svoje špecifiká (formulácie a pojmy používané v nových prekladoch by mali byť konzistentné s tými, použitými pri ostatných reťazcoch, najmä tých, ktoré s prekladanými tvoria nejakú ucelenú sadu; treba poznať syntax GENDER/PLURAL volaní; rozlišovať texty a prípadné identifikátory; atď.), takže ak tak s citom a po zorientovaní sa. Výhoda je, ak už človek pričuchol k lokalizácii nejakého sw. SK lokalizácii MW sa tam nárazovo venujem, je ale pravda, že na mobilné aplikácie ani mobilné zobrazenie sa veľmi nesústreďujem (keďže nie som moc ich fanúšikom), tým sa venuje skôr Kusavica. Hej, samotný sk↔cs fallback sa tu už preberal [87] (pričom zavedenie bolo vnímané dosť kontroverzne, rovnako na cswiki z času na čas výskyt slovenčiny v rozhraní vzbudí emócie), tento dotaz smeroval myslím skôr k prekladu týchto konkrétnych reťazcov.
A pre korektnosť: z prieskumu (používateľského) ani žiadnej širšej diskusie to pokiaľ viem nevzišlo, šlo o čistú párchlapovú iniciatívu, inšpirovanú jednou akademickou prácou o jazykovej blízkosti češtiny a slovenčiny. Tým nutne nezatracujem výsledok, má to svoje rácio. Problems
Some users have a problem with the watchlist. Some changes in categories make the watchlist a blank page. The developers are working on this. Until this is fixed you can try some things that have helped other editors if you have this problem. You can turn on Skryť kategorizáciu stránok in your watchlist preferences. You can turn off Rozšíriť zoznam sledovaných stránok, aby zobrazoval všetky úpravy, nie len posledné in your watchlist preferences. You can remove problematic categories from Special:EditWatchlist/raw. [93]
There was a problem with the visual editor for several days. You could not save edits that triggered a CAPTCHA. This would for example be when a new user added external links in references. This was fixed on 2 May. [94]
Changes this week
When you edit you can switch between the visual editor and the wikitext editor. This works if the wiki you edit has the visual editor. The menu will now say Visual editing and Source editing instead of Switch to visual editing and Switch to code editing. This is because it was confusing when the menu said you could switch to the editor you were already using. [95]

It will be opt-in for existing users and opt-out for new users. [96][97]
Markup that looks like code for language variants might need to be fixed. If -{ is used in transclusions or web addresses it has to be escaped appropriately. You can use -<nowiki/>{ for transclusions and %2D{ in web addresses. A transclusion could for example be when you use -{ in a template: {{1x| sad :-{ face }}. This is because of some code fixes to the preprocessor and affects all wikis. [98][99]

The wikitext diff is the same diff tool that is used in the wikitext editors and in the page history. You can read and help translate the user guide, which has more information about how to use the visual editor.
A new wikitext editing mode is available as a Beta Feature on desktop devices. The 2017 wikitext editor has the same toolbar as the visual editor and can use the citoid service and other modern tools. Go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures to enable the ⧼Visualeditor-preference-newwikitexteditor-label⧽.
A new visual diff tool is available in VisualEditor's visual mode. You can toggle between wikitext and visual diffs. More features will be added to this later. In the future, this tool may be integrated into other MediaWiki components. [100]
You can now use your web browser's function to switch typing direction in the new wikitext mode. This is particularly helpful for RTL language users like Urdu or Hebrew who have to write JavaScript or CSS. You can use Command+Shift+X or Control+Shift+X to trigger this. [102]
The way to switch between the visual editing mode and the wikitext editing mode is now consistent. There is a drop-down menu that shows the two options. This is now the same in desktop and mobile web editing, and inside things that embed editing, such as Flow. [103]

There is a new keyboard shortcut for citations: Control+Shift+K on a PC, or Command+Shift+K on a Mac. It is based on the keyboard shortcut for making links, which is Control+K or Command+K respectively. [110]
Future changes
The team is working on a syntax highlighting tool. It will highlight matching pairs of <ref> tags and other types of wikitext syntax. You will be able to turn it on and off. It will first become available in VisualEditor's built-in wikitext mode, maybe late in 2017. [111]
The kind of button used to Zobraziť náhľad, Zobraziť rozdiely, and finish an edit will change in all WMF-supported wikitext editors. The new buttons will use OOjs UI. The buttons will be larger, brighter, and easier to read. The labels will remain the same. The mediawiki.util library does not load automatically any more. Your Special:MyPage/common.js may use it. The RevisionSlider extension will be a default feature on all wikis. RevisionSlider is an easier way to move between changes in the page history. New notification when a page is connected to Wikidata

The Wikidata development team is about to deploy a new feature on all Wikipedias. It is a new type of notification (via Echo, the notification system you see at the top right of your wiki when you are logged in), that will inform the creator of a page, when this page is connected to a Wikidata item.
You may know that Wikidata provides a centralized system for all the interwikilinks. When a new page is created, it should be connected to the corresponding Wikidata item, by modifying this Wikidata item. With this new notification, editors creating pages will be informed when another editor connects this page to Wikidata.
This feature will be deployed on May 30th on all the Wikipedias, excepting English, French and German. This feature will be disable by default for existing editors, and enabled by default for new editors.
This is the first step of the deployments, the Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects will follow in the next months.

You can choose what dates to look at when you look at a user's contributions. [134]
When you click on your watchlist in the mobile view you get a list of all pages in the watchlist instead of the latest changes to them. Logged-in users with at least ten edits will now get the latest changes instead. [135]

Wikimedia wikis use OCG to create PDFs. The OCG code has a lot of problems and will stop working. It has to be replaced. An alternative is Electron. Recent changes
There was a problem with maps on Wikimedia wikis that used <mapframe> when you clicked on the link to another map service. Open Street Map or Google Maps are examples of other map services. If you had marked a place on the map the marker would not be in the same place on the other map service. It was in the middle of the map. This has now been fixed. [152]
Changes this week
Very old and inactive unpublished translations in the Content Translation database will be removed. This is because of technical maintenance. If you have not worked on a translation after 1 January 2016 you will lose it after 6 July. If you want to keep the unfinished translation you need to open it before 6 July with the Content Translation tool. You can continue working on it later. Translations that were started or have been worked on after 1 January 2016 will not be affected.
There is no new Mediawiki version this week.
EventStreams is a new way to show activity on Wikimedia wikis. It works with the recent changes feed. It will do more things later. It will replace RCStream. Tools that use RCStream should move to EventStreams before 7 July. Tech News wrote about this in the 2017/07 issue. [153]

Ako som už uviedol vyššie, nepokladám za vhodné zaraďovať do športových (teda tematických) článkov všeobecné kategórie. Ak by boli vytvorené priamo športové kategórie nadradené danému článku, vtedy by to bolo iné. Tie ale nemáme vytvorené a nie je ich potrebné ani vytvoriť, pretože vytvárať kategórie pre kategórie, aby v nich bolo umiestnené maximálne jedno heslo (teraz i s predpokladom do budúcna), je zbytočné. Okrem toho, ponechal som v tých článkoch tie kategórie, o ktorých nie som (zatiaľ) celkom presvedčený, či tam patria, resp. nie. --Maajo25 (diskusia) 21:46, 27. júl 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]

@Maajo25: Keby sa vytvorili kategórie k všetkým športovým článkom čo zakladáš celkom by sa to nazbieralo. Pre menšie mestá stačí keď sa to hodí do mestskéj kategórie a pre ostatné sa hodia práve tie ako "Šport v Ohiu". Kategórie rokov sú tiež dôležité, k ním sa postupne nazbierajú (aj v Kanade sú 3-4 udalosti na jeden rok, v Česku ich je ešte viac, rovnako na Slovensku. Teslaton to tiež dobre zhrnul. Zdravím! Druhý dotaz sa týka kategórií pre dopravu. Kategórie v Kategória:Cesty na Slovensku podľa okresu mi prídu príliš podrobné, radšej by som prekategorizoval do Kategória:Doprava na Slovensku podľa okresu. Majú to tak aj na cs.wiki a podľa mňa to dáva lepší prehľad v okresnej dopravnej kategórii. Je cesta tiež "stavba"? Ak je potom by sme mali cesty kategorizovať aj do kategórií s ostatnými stavbami, či už individuálne priamo pod okresnou stavebnou alebo cez okresnú cestnú kategóriu. Problems
Some pages show the error Lua error in mw.wikibase.entity.lua at line 34: The entity data must be a table obtained via mw.wikibase.getEntityObject. This problem happens on pages with a Lua module that uses Wikidata. The developers are working on fixing the problem. You can fix a page by opening it for editing and then saving without changing anything. [165]

You can get an email when a page on your watchlist was edited. You can choose not to get emails for minor edits. There is a bug that means that you then don't get an email when someone does a normal edit after a minor edit. The developers are working on fixing this. Until it has been fixed you can activate "Upozorniť ma e-mailom aj na drobné úpravy stránok a súborov" at the bottom of "Profil" in your preferences if you want to. [170]
The thanks button sometimes didn't work for mobile users. This was because of a new bug and has now been fixed. [171]

Editors and readers who still use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP will not be able to use Wikipedia. Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP can't connect securely to the wikis. When we allow them to do so it means that we get less security for everyone else. If you use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP you can install Firefox 52 ESR instead. Around 0.1% of the traffic to the Wikimedia wikis comes from Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP. [172]
Links to sections on Wikipedia don't work well in languages that don't use the Latin script. The URL in the address bar in your browser shows Latin characters like .D0.A1.D1.81.D1.8B.D0.BB.D0.BA.D0.B8 instead of the section heading in the wiki's language. Links to sections in non-Latin scripts will be in the script of that wiki in the future. This will happen in the next few months. [173][174]
Wiki pages printed by the web browser "Print" function will have an updated style. This new style will be similar to the when you download a page as PDF. It will be better at showing tables, infoboxes and headings. [175][176]

The RelatedArticles extension has shown related pages on Wikivoyages. You will now see the related pages at the end of the article together with an image. Previously the links were in the sidebar. Wikis that want this extension can request it on Phabricator.

Videos will now be played in the WebM format in all browsers. Previously some browsers used Ogg Theora (.ogv). If you use Safari, Internet Explorer or Edge you may see slower playback speed at high resolutions. Instead we will get better quality and smaller file size. You can still upload video as Ogg files. They are automatically converted to WebM. This doesn't affect Ogg audio files. [184]

Je tam dvojitý problém. V prvom rade sú tam neaktuálne kódy dotyčných obcí (napr. Weiz má mať aktuálne 61766 [187][188], nie 61755), zrejme tam došlo k zmenám v evidencii. Recent changes
Syntax highlighting is now a beta feature on Wikimedia wikis with text written from left to right. It will come to right-to-left wikis later. This beta feature is based on CodeMirror. [190][191]
You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device or IP address that have logged in to your account before you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can turn this off or choose to get an email notification in your preferences. You can also turn on to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address. [192]
Problems
Some pages show the error Lua error in mw.wikibase.entity.lua at line 34: The entity data must be a table obtained via mw.wikibase.getEntityObject. This problem happens on pages with a Lua module that use Wikidata. This has now been fixed and no new pages will get this problem. Nie, "menej bajtov" zaberie len zdrojový kód takejto stránky a jej interná reprezentácia v databáze. Pri generovaní stránky pre zobrazenie sa samozrejme všetky šablóny substujú a výsledná stránka obsahuje všetok obsah pochádzajúci zo šablón rovnako, ako keby sa nachádzal priamo v nej. @Tesalton: Zdravím! Nemohol by niekto, kto by to vedel, urobiť a následne nahrať na Wikimedia Commons mapu Slovensku vytvornú z OpenStreetMap. Nemyslím však len jednoduchý obrázok. Maperitive (komplexná desktopová aplikácia pre rendrovanie máp z OSM dát prostredníctvom custom štýlových definícií)
rôzne "veľké" GISy, či už s OSM alebo inými dátami
S tým prvým nástrojom si mapky vygeneruješ aj sám (nejaké nedávno generoval Wizzard, viď [197]), s tým druhým je toľko roboty, že neviem, či bude niekto ochotný to na požiadanie riešiť. Niektorí autori na Commonse pripájajú odkazy na použité Maperitive štýly k vygenerovaným bitmapám, resp. ich poskytnú na požiadanie. Spôsob, ako je možné pri OSM Boundaries Map obísť GUI limity, je popísaný v dokumentácii [198], sekcia "API". Je dobré mať po ruke príkazový riadok s nejakým CLI HTTP agentom (curl, wget). Napr. SVG s okresnými hranicami v rámci Slovenska sa dá dotázať nasledovne:
(14296 je top-level relácia hraníc Slovenska, 8 je pre Slovensko okresný admin level, apiKey ti to po prihlásení sa cez OAuth vypluje pri dotaze)
Výstup je ale v tomto prípade 8-megové SVG s cestami s rádovo státisícami uzlov, ktoré nie každý editor/renderer zvládne. A ak sa zvolí to_al=9 (hranice obcí), má SVG 32 MB. Chcelo by to prehnať nejakou utilitou, ktorá dokáže zjednodušiť cesty na zadaný počet uzlov. Štýlovanie (farby, hrúbky čiar, atď.) sa v SVG dá upraviť aj ľubovoľným vývojárskym textovým editorom, to v princípe nevyžadtuje otvorenie v grafickom. Prípadne sa dá zvoliť export do iného formátu (Shapefile, GeoJSON) a vyrendrovať to niečím, čo to podporuje (budú to ale skôr GISy než bežný grafický sw.).

In short: starting on 26 September, New Filters for Edit Review (now in Beta) will become standard on Recent Changes. They provide an array of new tools and an improved interface. If you prefer the current page you will be able to opt out. Learn more about the New Filters.
Based on a new design, it adds new features that ease vandalism tracking and support of newcomers:
Filtering - filter recent changes with easy-to-use and powerful filters combinations, including filtering by namespace or tagged edits.
Highlighting - add a colored background to the different changes you are monitoring. It helps quick identification of changes that matter to you.
Bookmarking to keep your favorite configurations of filters ready to be used.
Quality and Intent Filters - those filters use ORES predictions. They identify real vandalism or good faith intent contributions that need help. They are not available on all wikis.
Starting on 26 September, New Filters for Edit Review will become standard on Recent Changes. We have decided to do this release because of a long and successful Beta test phase, positive feedback from various users and positive user testing.
If your community has specific concerns about this deployment or internal discussion, it can request to have the deployment to their wikis delayed to October 1, if they have sensible, consistent with the project, actionable, realistic feedback to oppose (at the development team's appreciation).
You will also be able to opt-out this change in your preferences.
Concerning Watchlists
Starting on September 19, the Beta feature will have a new option. Watchlists will have all filters available now on the Beta Recent Changes improvements.
If you have already activated the Beta feature "⧼eri-rcfilters-beta-label⧽", you have no action to take. If you haven't activated the Beta feature "⧼eri-rcfilters-beta-label⧽" and you want to try the filters on Watchlists, please go to your Beta preferences on September 19.

Hej, pozrám ale že len vo Vectore (nevnímam to, pretože mám nastavený Monobook), zrejme v ňom v priebehu času vypustili ten riadok "z Wikipédie, slobodnej encyklopédie", ktorý v Monobooku stále je a s ktorým to naše záhlavie počíta. Future changes
A new feature called Reading Lists are coming to the Wikipedia mobile apps. First it will be in the Android version. Reading Lists are a private user preference where you can see lists of articles on multiple devices. You can give feedback on this feature. [223]
The search function has used fallback languages for language analysis. This means a language could be analysed with the grammar of a completely unrelated language to find related words. This will be removed from most wikis the week starting with 9 October. You can read more and give feedback.

There is an error in the configuration of Slovak-language wiki projects. Text on this wiki is treated as if it is in Czech. In general, treating one language as another gives poor results. Sometimes it does nothing, and often it does the wrong thing. However, Slovak and Czech may be similar enough that doing so provides a significant benefit. It is difficult to know without being familiar with both languages. I'm hoping you can give us your opinion. Unless there is a good reason to keep treating Slovak as Czech, the change will begin the week of October 9th. Please let me know of any concerns. When you edit a template with the visual editor it follows the template's format configuration on how to save it. You can now change the format in more powerful ways if your wiki wants it. [229][230]
The TwoColConflict extension is a new way to solve edit conflicts. It makes it easier to copy and paste the relevant text to the text field. It has been a beta feature for the last five months. You can now try out the new interface on a page where you will actually get simulated edit conflicts. You can give feedback to the developers.
Problems
There is a problem with recent changes pages and your watchlist that show a large number of pages. Until it is fixed, Wikidata edits will not be shown on recent changes or in your watchlist on Commons or Russian Wikipedia. If necessary, Wikidata edits will be removed from all wikis. [231]
Notifications are not working for some actions. For example some users don't get a notification when they are mentioned. The developers are working on fixing this. [232]
Users on some wikis could not change their preferences. This has now been fixed. [233]

Editors and readers who still use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP will not be able to use Wikipedia from 17 October. Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP can't connect securely to the wikis. When we allow them to do so it means that we get less security for everyone else. If you use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP you can install Firefox 52 ESR instead. Around 0.1% of the traffic to the Wikimedia wikis comes from Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP. [234]

Správca si ho môže naimportovať štandardne cez common.js:

The diff you see when you compare two different versions of a page has changed on MediaWiki.org and the test wiki. This is to make it easier to find a text change in a moved paragraph. It will hopefully soon come to more wikis. You can report bugs in Phabricator. [242]
A new user group on Commons will be able to upload MP3 files. The plan is to have this user group from 17 November. [243]
Wikis using Flagged Revisions will get the New filters for Edit Review by default on the recent changes pages. It will be possible to opt-out in user preferences. [244]

STN 01 8025 sivú farbu neuvádza, takže by to chcelo tú požiadavku trochu viac rozviesť. Aký typ značky by to mal byť? Štandardná slovenská štvorcová pásová s bielymi kontrastnými, tzn. ako len so sivým vodiacim namiesto červeného? Alebo poľská podlhovastá? A videl si ju aj reálne v teréne? To že je sivou frabou trasa v mape by som nebral ako nutne smerodajné. Tá sivá trasa v mape totiž môže byť pokojne nejaký miestne značený (prípadne aj neznačený) chodník... Preto by som bol, keďže to nemá oporu v norme ani na webe KST, opatrný, čo sa týka pridávania. V tej norme na s 10... Ak sa tam prihodí link na mapu, bude tam referencia na zdroj. To, či ide o dohodu v rámci KST na jej zavedenie, to neviem, no ak ju používajú okolité krajiny, je otázkou času, kedy bude začlenená do zoznamu. V tabuľke na strane 10 sú: Červená, Modrá, Zelená, Žltá, Biela, Čierna, Hnedá, Oranžová, Béžová. Sivá farba sa v celej norme spomína len na s. 9, v súvislosti so značkárskym kolíkom. Future changes
Language converter syntax will no longer work inside external links. Wikitext like http://-{zh-cn:foo.com; zh-hk:bar.com; zh-tw:baz.com}- must be replaced. You will have to write -{zh-cn: http://foo.com ; zh-hk: http://bar.com ; zh-tw:http://baz.com }- instead. This only affects languages with Language Converter enabled. Examples of such languages are Chinese and Serbian. This will happen next week. [250][251]
@MDsmajlik: Stránku z Wikipédie možno na FB a iných soc. sieťach zdieľať rovnako ako ľubovoľnú inú stránku – nazdieľaním jej URL. FB si následne načíta jej metadáta (väčšinou pomerne zmysluplne, viď napr. [252]) a zobrazí jej náhľad. To je štandardný postup na bežnom desktope. Na mobilných platformách je zdieľanie aktuálne prehliadanej stránky cez rôzne služby spravidla integrované priamo v mobilnom prehliadači.
Čo sa týka integrácie rôznych Like/Share tlačidiel do stránok Wikipédie cez pluginy jednotlivých soc. sietí, to sa na WMF projektoch z viacerých dôvodov nepraktikovalo a nepraktikuje. Spomaľuje to načítavanie stránky a robí ju to závislou od dostupnosti a funkčnosti služieb 3. strán; predstavuje to pre návštevníka potenciálne security a privacy riziká; šlo by o formu propagácie tých soc. sietí, ktoré by boli zvolené (a vylúčenie tých, ktoré by zvolené neboli); množina používaných/preferovaných soc. sietí je po svete hodne regionálne/kultúrne závislá, atď. Pokiaľ viem, tak tu sú zatiaľ osobnosti kategorizované podľa štátu a nie podľa národnosti. Ďalšie pravidlo (zvyklosť) je že stránka má byť v jednej vetve kategórií najviac jeden krát a to na najnižšej úrovni. Tie vysokoškolské kategórie mi pripadajú tak, že niekto niečo začal a nedotiahol to do konca. Ak sa ale chceme hrať na kategórie podľa národnosti, tak potom diskusia pri Jozefovi Petzvalovi bude len prechádzkou v ružovej záhrade. A síce si to nazval biskupské kategórie, týka sa to všetkých kategórií osobností, ktoré sú kategorizované podľa štátov. --LacoR (diskusia) 20:04, 24. november 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]
@LacoR: Čo ti pripadá nedokončené na vysokoškolských kategóriách? Všetkých kategórií osobností sa to netýka. Nechcem vytvárať samostatné kategórie pre napr. Spisovateľov píšucích na Slovensku a Slovenských spisovateľov. Ale už teraz máme kategórie, ktoré sa spájajú s konkrétnou pozíciou v konkrétnej organizácii. Napríklad máme Kategória:Slovenskí rozhlasoví redaktori a zároveň Kategória:Pracovníci Slovenského rozhlasu. Obe majú, podľa mňa, svoje opodstatnenie. @Jetam2: Týchto 134 osôb sa mi zdá nedokončených - to sú osobnosti, ktoré nie sú priradení ku konkrétnej vysokej škole. Vzhľadom k tomu, že sú spravené kategórie pre skoro všetky VŠ na slovensku, neverím tomu, že by sme mali toľko osôb, ktoré neučia na žiadnej slovenskej VŠ. Týchto 78 osôb je aj v kategórii Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia aj v niektorej podkategórii Vyučujúci vysokých škôl na Slovensku.
Tebou spomínaní redaktori a pracovníci rozhlasu sú v zásade dve rôzne veci, lebo medzi pracovníkmi môžu byť napr. režiséri, dramaturgovia, vrátnici, údržbári a pod. ktorí nie sú redaktormi a sú aj zásadne ináč kategorizované - jedna nie je podkategóriou druhej a ani druhá podkategóriou prvej.
Keď sa vrátime k tomu čo vyvolalo túto diskusiu, tak sú to v zásade tieto dve (moje) tvrdenia:
1. Kategórie začínajúce na Slovenskí XYZ ([257]) sú v 99% percentách prípadov kategorizované do kategórie XYZ podľa štátu a teda ide o príslušnosť k štátu a nie národnosti.
2. Stránka má byť v jednej vetve kategórií najviac jeden krát a to na najnižšej úrovni - t.j. ak je kategória B podkategóriou kategórie A, tak článok má byť len B a nie súčasne v B aj A.
To čo som revertoval (presnejšie to spravil Tomáš) považujem za kategorizačno/technickú otázku, ktorá nemá nič do činenia s národnosťou. Ak body 1 a 2 neplatia tak poprosím nejaký argument.
@LacoR: Aha, kategorizovanie nie je dokončené. Kategórie (skoro) sú. Sorry, ale nemôžeš očakávať, že pri vzniku takýchto kategórií zatriedim všetkých vš. pedagógov. Náhmatkovo som ich niekoľko doplnil. Niektorí nemajú ani uvedené kde učili (napr. Jozef Adamovič). Niektorí napr. (Mira Nábělková či Anton Vyrosil) učili len mimo Slovenska (a o to tu práve ide). Prípady ako Vyrosil je ťažké kategorizovať, pretože nie je uvedené ani jedno meno inštitúcie. Súhlasím s bodom 1. aj s bodom 2. Ale nie je to tak vždy. Rozumiem tvojim výhradám ohľadne 20. storočia. Súhlasím. Lenže prax je taká, že tu zaraďujeme osobnosti podľa národnosti do kategórie podľa štátu. @Jetam2: Nechcel som na nikoho útočiť, sám dosť často niektoré veci rozrobím a potom nedotiahnem. A áno máš pravdu, že naozaj tie kategórie Slovenskí XYZ môžu byť vnímané nekonzistentne. Osobne preferujem istý geografický princíp: kto sa narodil, resp. pôsobil na území, ktoré dnes patrí Slovensku patrí do kategórie Slovenskí ... Ale niekto môže mať aj iný názor a nesnažím sa ho nasilu presadzovať. Len tak ma margo: v Kategória:Slovenské osobnosti je text:Táto kategória obsahuje významných alebo známych ľudí, ktorí sa buď narodili na Slovensku alebo majú niečo so Slovenskom spoločné.
Som tak trochu dúfal, že tie kategórie začnú používať aj iní redaktori, ale zatiaľ len minimálne. Geografický princíp tiež preferujem, ale myslím, že nie sme úplne konzistentní. V (rakúsko-)uhorskej otázke nemám úplne vyhranený názor. Určite však treba prihliadnuť na situáciu jednotlivých období a o ktorú kategóriu ide. @LacoR: Ehm, mám taký pocit, že ideš vyhodiť kategórie Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia zo všetkých, čo už majú priradenie k nejakej škole. Podľa mňa je to nesprávny postup. Je to práve to, čo som sa snažil vysvetliť vyššie, že na slovenských VŠ môžu učiť aj zahraniční a slovenskí vš pedagógovia môžu učiť aj inde. @Jetam2: Tvoj pocit je správny. Prečo by mal byť toto nesprávny postup? Však sám si povedal, že súhlasíš s mojimi dvoma bodmi. Keďže kategória Kategória:Vyučujúci vysokých škôl na Slovensku je podkategóriou kategórie Kategória:Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia, tak nevidím rozumný dôvod, aby osoby boli v obidvoch, ale iba v jednej, tej špecifickejšej. Máme ich zakategorizovať aj do kategórie Kategória:Slovenské osobnosti? Hore som uviedol dva postuláty - podľa toho prvého aj zahraničné osoby vyučujúce na Slovensku patria do kategórie Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia. Tí slovenskí vš. pedagógovia, ktorí nikdy neučili na žiadnej slovenskej VŠ je otázne, či majú byť v kategórii Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia. Skôr by mali byť v kategórii Vysokoškolskí pedagógovia slovenského pôvodu. Ale vzhľadom ku konštatovanej "nekonzistentnosti" ketegórii Slovenskí XYZ, by tí, čo nikdy neučili na slovenskej VŠ zostali v priamo v hlavnejšej kategórii Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia. Keďže ide o zásadnejšiu otázku, ktorá má s biskupmi do činenia skôr okrajovo, dal som to do samostaného odseku, aby si to všimli aj redaktori, ktorých biskupi nezaujímajú --LacoR (diskusia) 07:37, 27. november 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Na margo "prečo je v Mestá v Rakúsku aj stránka Viedeň aj Kategória:Viedeň, pričom stránka Viedeň je aj v kategórii Viedeň": pokiaľ sa pamätám, tento prípad – "eponymné kategórie", sa už v minulosti preberal s tým, že články sa budú kategorizovať do kategórií kam patria, bez ohľadu na to, či k nim existuje alebo neexistuje eponymná kategória. Tzn. Viedeň v tomto zmysle patrí do tých istých kategórií ako jej (prípadne existujúca) eponymná K:Viedeň. Príde mi to tak v poriadku, nie je konzistentné ani intuitívne, keď časť článkov (inak na tej istej logickej úrovni) je v nejakej kategórii dohľadateľná len cez priame zaradenia (tzn. v spodnom zozname) a iná časť zase len nepriamo cez ich eponymné kategórie (tzn. v hornom zozname) – len preto, že k nejakej ad-hoc časti už boli v priebehu času eponymné kat. pozakladané (typicky preto, že niekto chcel niečo, týkajúce sa toho predmetu zakategorizovať) a k nejakej časti nie. --Teslaton (diskusia) 21:37, 29. november 2017 (UTC)[odpovedať]

Ako sa hovorí beriem na vedomie. Aj keď si myslím, že sa dá o tom diskutovať (a nie je to konzistentne doriešené napr. Ľubľana, Paríž v K:Hlavné mestá v Európe) - aj preto si myslím, že to nebol vhodný príklad v našej diskusii. Čo ma irituje, je to, že vlastne tu nemáme žiadne pravidlá a upresnenia ohľadom kategorizácie, alebo to aspoň neviem nájsť. Taktiež neviem nájsť nejakú diskusiu o tých eponymných kategóriach, aj keď sa mi marí, že niečo sa o tom riešilo. Od biskupov sme sa presunuli na pedagógov a z nich na mestá. Asi fakt nebolo dobré dávať tie príklady. :D Vyzerá mi to tak, že keď je niekto vysokoškolský pedagóg alebo univerzitný profesor tak toto povolanie môže vykonávať akoby kdekoľvek. Preto je to opisná kat. Byť vyučujúcim je už prepojené s konkrétnou školou a preto sa nedá vykonávať inde. Z toho vyplýva, ako aj Lalina píše, že zaradenie Kategória:Vyučujúci vysokých škôl na Slovensku do Kategória:Slovenskí vysokoškolskí pedagógovia bolo chybné. You can now use live updates for recent changes if you use the new filters. This feature updates the filtered recent changes every three seconds when you activate it. [262]

Very old versions of the Opera Web browser are no longer supported. This means that technical development will not be tested to make sure it works with those Opera versions. Use Opera 15 or above or another browser if you have problems. [264]
Almost 170 wikis with no high-priority errors in Linter categories will switch to use the Remex parsing library. This is to replace Tidy. A few larger wikis such as German and Italian Wikipedia will also make this switch. It will happen on 5 December. Other wikis will be recommended to switch soon when they have fixed the errors that must be fixed. Tidy will be removed in the middle of 2018. [265][266]

A new tag marks edits where a redirect was created or removed. This still works when the editor writes something else in the edit summary. You can see the tags for example in the recent changes feed, article history, user contributions or on your watchlist. [269]
If you use Chrome on Android, you can now use the print to PDF button to create a PDF of an article. [270]
Filter by number of edits or filter by time range have been grouped on a same menu on the recent changes page if you use the new filters. The "Zobraziť zmeny od $1" link is now more prominent. [271]
Some of the web fonts that were provided by the Universal Language Selector extension are being removed. This is to reduce the load time on pages. The web fonts were added many years ago to help users read text in scripts which did not have fonts or had broken fonts. This is not the case any more. You can check the status page for a list of all web fonts and whether they are currently being used and especially for special requirements. [272]

Because of the holidays the next issue of Tech News will be sent out on 8 January 2018.
Problems
When you import a page from another wiki the usernames of the users who edited the article on the wiki you imported it from are shown in the article history. This should link to the users on the original wiki. A script to fix this caused problems for Wikidata and German Wikipedia. It also created a large number of SUL accounts on wikis where editors had never edited. [273]
Some bot owners got email about their bots logging in from a new computer. If this is from one or a couple of wikis, you can turn these messages off in your preferences on those wikis until the problem has been solved. If not, you can report more about the problem in Phabricator.

The developers are now looking for examples of different kinds of metadata to make sure they are aware of them when they build prototypes for structured data on Commons. The Structured Commons team are making sure Commons work with structured data. If you regularly contribute to Commons and Wikidata you can answer a survey that helps the team prioritise the tools that are important for the Commons and Wikidata communities. The survey ends on 22 December. You can read more on Commons. You can also help the team decide on better names for "captions" and "descriptions". This ends on 3 January 2018.
