Parantrop (lat. Paranthropus), neformálne robustný australopit alebo robustný australopitek, je rod z čeľade hominidi. Všetky nálezy z tohto rodu sa niekedy zaraďujú pod rod australopitek a zriedkavo naopak pod rod Homo.

Olson do tohto rodu zaradil (aj?) časť nálezov, ktoré iní zaraďujú ako Australopithecus afarensis, a to pod názvom Paranthropus africanus (pozri v článku australopitek afarský).

Cela-Conde et al. 2003 výslovne klasifikuje len nálezy z tohto rodu plus druh Australopithecus africanus ako rod Australopithecus (ostatné australopitekorodé klasifikuje ako rod Praeanthropus, rod Paranthropus nepoužíva). ^[1]
