How to use

Place {{Lead too long|date=පෙබරවාරි 2025}} at the top of articles with more than four paragraphs or an otherwise inordinate amount of content in their lead section.

When to use

Most Wikipedia:Featured articles have a lead length of approximately 250 to 400 words, which suggests that this tag is likely inappropriate unless the lead substantially exceeds that length.

Use {{lead rewrite}} instead of this template if the lead is not unreasonably long but needs to be re-written to focus on the most important information.

• This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Wikipedia introduction cleanup.
