James Hadley Chase (n. 24 decembrie 1906, Londra, Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii și Irlandei – d. 6 februarie 1985, Corseaux^⁠(d), cantonul Vaud, Elveția)[9] a fost un scriitor englez. Deși numele său la naștere fusese René Lodge Brabazon Raymond, este mai degrabă cunoscut prin diverse pseudonime incluzând James Hadley Chase (cel mai frecvent cunoscut), James L. Docherty, Raymond Marshall, R. Raymond și Ambrose Grant.

Este unul dintre cei mai bine cunoscuți scriitori de romane de genul thriller ale tuturor timpurilor. Cele 90 de romane scrise, toate sub semnătura sa, i-au adus reputația de a fi "regele scriitorilor thriller" din Europa. [10] În același timp, Chase este unul dintre cei mai bine vânduți autori. Un record număr de 50 de romane ale sale au fost ecranizate. [11]
