ایہہ کھیتر کئی گوانڈھی دیساں دے نال ۵٬۱۸۲ کلومیٹر (۳٬۲۲۰ میل) (اسدی کل جغرافیائی سیما دا لگبھگ ۹۹ فیصد) دی قومانتری سرحد سانجھا کردا اے - ۱٬۳۹۵ کلومیٹر (۸۶۷ میل) اتر وچ تبت نال، ۱٬۶۴۰ کلومیٹر (۱٬۰۲۰ میل) میانمار دے نال، مشرق، دکھن-پچھم وچ بنگلہ دیش نال ۱٬۵۹۶ کلومیٹر (۹۹۲ میل)، پچھم وچ نیپال نال ۹۷ کلومیٹر (۶۰ میل)، اتے اتر-پچھم وچ بھوٹان نال ۴۵۵ کلومیٹر (۲۸۳ میل)۔[۱۸] اس وچ ۲۶۲٬۲۳۰ مربع کلومیٹر (۱۰۱٬۲۵۰ مربع میل) دا کھیتر شامل اے، جو کہ بھارت دا لگبھگ ۸ فیصد اے۔ سلیگڑی کاریڈور اس کھیتر نوں باقی مکھ زمین بھارت نال جوڑدا اے۔
اتر پوربی کھیتر دے راج اتر پوربی راجاں دے ترقی لئی ایگزیکٹیو ایجنسی وجوں ۱۹۷۱ وچ گٹھت اتر پوربی کونسل (اینئیسی) دے ماتحت سرکاری طور اُتے مانتا حاصل ہن۔ NEC نوں شامل کرن توں بعد، سکم نے ۲۰۰۲ وچ اٹھویں راج وجوں اتر پوربی کھیتر دا حصہ بنایا۔[۱۷][۱۹][۲۰] بھارت دے لکّ-ایسٹ کنیکٹیوٹی پروجیکٹ شمال مشرقی بھارت نوں پوربی ایشیا اتے آسیان نال جوڑدے ہن۔ آسام وچ گہاٹی شہر نوں اتر مشرق دا گیٹوے کیہا جاندا اے اتے اتر پوربی بھارت وچ سبھ توں وڈا مہانگر؉ اے۔
