ജൈവസുരക്ഷ

ജൈവസുരക്ഷയ്ക്ക് (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Biosecurity ബയോസെക്യൂരിറ്റി)വ്യത്യസ്ത അർത്ഥതലങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. വ്യത്യസ്ത വിജ്ഞാനശാഖകളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഇത് വ്യത്യസ്തരീതികളിലാണ് നിർവ്വചിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. കാർഷികവിളകൾ, കന്നുകാലികൾ എന്നിവയിലെ പകർച്ചവ്യാധികൾ പകരുന്നതു മൂലമുള്ള അപകടസാധ്യത കുറയ്ക്കുക, കീടങ്ങൾ, ജൈവാധിനിവേശം, മാറ്റം വരുത്തിയ ജീവികൾ എന്നിവയെ തടയുക തുടങ്ങിയ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു കൂട്ടം പരിഹാരമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ രൂപകൽപ്പന ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങിയതു മുതലാണ് ജൈവസുരക്ഷ എന്നതിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ നിർവ്വചനം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. കാർഷിക- പരിസ്ഥിതി സമൂഹമാണ് ആദ്യമായി ഈ പദം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. 1990 കളിൾ ആരംഭിച്ച ജൈവതീവ്രവാദത്തിന്റെ ഭീഷണിയോടുള്ള പ്രതികരണമായി , ഗവേഷകശാലകളിൽ നിന്നും ജൈവവസ്തുക്കൾ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്നത് തടയുന്നത് ജൈവസുരക്ഷയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടു. ജൈവശാസ്ത്രഗവേഷണസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലെ അപകടകരമായ രോഗാണുക്കളേയും വിഷവസ്തുക്കളേയും വിദ്വേഷപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് തടയാനും അതോടൊപ്പം കസ്റ്റംസ് അധികൃതർ, കാർഷിക- പ്രകൃതി വിഭവ പരിപാലകർ തുടങ്ങിയർ മുഖേന ഈ രാസായുധങ്ങളുടെ വ്യാപനം തടയാനുമുള്ള മുൻ കരുതലുകൾ വ്യവസ്ഥകളുടേയും നിരന്തരഭ്യാസങ്ങളുടേയും കൂടിച്ചേരലായിരുന്നു.
