വിക്ടോറിയ രാജ്ഞിയുടെ നാലാമത്തെ മകളായിരുന്ന രാജകുമാരി ലൂയിസ് കാരൊലിൻ ആൽബെർട്ടയുടെ (ജീവിതകാലം:1848-1939)[ 8] ജോൺ കാംപ്ബെല്ലിന്റെ പത്നിയായിരുന്നു ലൂയിസ്. ലൂയിസ് തടാകം , ആൽബെർട്ട കൊടുമുടി എന്നിവ അവരുടെ ബഹുമാനാർത്ഥം നാമകരണം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു.[ 9] [ 10]
661,848 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ (255,500 ചതുരശ്ര മൈൽ) പ്രാദേശിക വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുള്ള ആൽബെർട്ട, ക്യുബെക് , ഒണ്ടാറിയോ , ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കൊളമ്പിയ എന്നിവയ്ക്കു ശേഷം കാനഡയിലെ നാലാമത്തെ വലിയ പ്രവിശ്യയാണ്.[ 11]
