「xx世紀の軍人」カテゴリの運用についての議論

日本の戦国武将の記事に「16世紀の軍人」などのカテゴリを付与している方がいて、私は違和感を覚えました。「軍人」（ぐんじん）は、狭義では、「（近代）国家の正規軍の職業軍人」を指します。いっぽう、「軍人」（いくさびと）だとするならば、記紀の登場人物（カミ）も多数該当しそうです。カテゴリとしてなんかヘンだなあと思います。

Help on the English Wiki

Hello, I am working on the English page for ranks of the Imperial Japanese Navy and hope to get some help with a few things.

1. I am hoping that some can help confirm/explain something. On most English sources, the ranks are presented as such. I find it weird that "shō-i kōhosei" has a thick stripe on the shoulder boards, but not on the collar. Whereas, the "Jun-i" rank has a thin stripe on the shoulder, but the thick stripe on the collar. Shouldn't "shō-i kōhosei" have the thick stripe on both collar and shoulder?
2. Do any of you have any good references that can be used on the page? I found "海軍服制" on the Japanese wiki, it is however difficult to read the source, as it is Japanese in a format that can't effectively be translated. Additionally, the images are unclear.
