『フランティック』（Frantic）は、イングランドのロック・ミュージシャンのブライアン・フェリーが2002年に発表した11作目のソロ・アルバムである[1][注釈 1]。

解説

経緯

1998年、フェリーは行き詰まりを見せ始めた新作アルバム"Alphaville"の制作を一旦中止して[2]、1920年代と30年代のスタンダード・ナンバーを取り上げた前作『As Time Goes By ～時の過ぎゆくままに』を1999年に発表した[3]。そしてピアニスト、ハーピスト、弦楽器奏者、管楽器奏者を含んだ10人余りの編成でツアーを行なった[4]。

2001年、彼はロキシー・ミュージックを再々結成して大々的なツアーを行なった[5]。前作の製作やツアーに参加したコリン・グッド[6][7]（キーボード）、ゼヴ・カッツ[8][7]（ベース）、ルーシー・ウィルキンス[7]（VCS3 シンセサイザー、ヴァイオリン）、ジュリア・ソーントン[7]（パーカッション）が招聘されて、準メンバーとして同行した。

2002年、デイヴ・スチュワートの協力の下に、"Alphaville"がアルバム『フランティック』として発表された[1]。ロキシーミュージックの再々結成と同様に、『As Time Goes By ～時の過ぎゆくままに』の製作やツアーに参加したミュージシャンが参加した。

内容

収録曲13曲のうちオリジナルは7曲で、ブライアン・イーノとの共作「恋を探して」ではイーノがギター、キーボード、コーラスを担当した。4曲はスチュアートとの共作である。

残り6曲にはカヴァーで、ディランの「イッツ・オール・オーバー・ナウ、ベイビー・ブルー」と「くよくよするなよ」[注釈 2]、ドン・ニックスの「ゴーイン・ダウン」などが取り上げられた。

2002年4月に発表され、全英アルバムチャートで最高位6位を記録した[9]。
