フサカサゴ科 (Scorpaenidae) はスズキ目に所属する魚類の分類群の一つ。フサカサゴ科は、大きな科の一つで、3亜科25属201種で構成される。[2] 世界中の温暖な海域を中心に分布するが、インド洋・太平洋に特に多い。フサカサゴ科は、カジカ科の魚と間違われやすい。卵生であり、メバルの仲間と大きく異なる。ミノカサゴのように一部の種類では卵が風船状のゼラチン膜によって包まれることが報告されている[3]。
