タタンカケラトプス（Tatankaceratops)(「バイソンの角の顔」を意味する)は後期白亜紀マーストリヒチアン期(6600万年前)の現在のサウスダコタ州に生息していた恐竜角竜類の属の一つ。ヘルクリーク層から産出した単一の部分頭骨から知られる。この標本 BHI 6226 はブラックヒルズ地質学研究所に所蔵されている。タタンカケラトプスはクリストファー・オットとピーター・ラーソンによって2010年に Tatankaceratops sacrisonorum を模式種として記載された^[1]。

系統

タタンカケラトプスはトリケラトプス族に内包されている。2011年、ニコラス・ロングリッチはタタンカケラトプスがトリケラトプスの成体と幼体の特徴を併せ持っていると提唱した。ロングリッチはこの動物がトリケラトプスの小型種ないし単に病気か障害によって十分成長しなかったトリケラトプス成体であると結論づけた^[2]。トーマス・ホルツを含む他の古生物学者たちは、タタンカケラトプスは幼体のトリケラトプスに過ぎないのではないかと「強く疑っている」と述べている^[3]。
