シャトルワース男爵 （英語 : Baron Shuttleworth 連合王国貴族 の男爵 位。
教育者ジェイムズ・ケイ＝シャトルワース （英語版 ） 1849年 に叙された準男爵 位を前身とし、その息子である自由党 の政治家第2代準男爵ユグトリード・ケイ＝シャトルワース （英語版 ） 1902年 7月16日 に叙されたのに始まる。2016年 現在の当主は第5代シャトルワース男爵チャールズ・ケイ＝シャトルワース である。
かつての邸宅ガウソープ・ホール （英語版 ） 現在の邸宅レック・ホール （英語版 ） 教育者ジェイムズ・ケイ＝シャトルワース （英語版 ） (1804-1872) は、1839年から1849年にかけて枢密院教育委員会 （英語版 ） 1849年 12月22日 に(ガウソープ・ホールの)準男爵 (Baronet"of Gawthorpe Hall")に叙された[ 1] [ 2]
彼の死後、その長男であるユグトリード・ケイ＝シャトルワース （英語版 ） （1844年-1939年） が第2代準男爵 位を継承。彼は自由党 所属の庶民院 議員を務め、1886年 2月から4月にかけてインド担当省政務次官 （英語版 ） ランカスター公領大臣 、1892年 から1895年 にかけて海軍省政務次官兼財務長官 （英語版 ） 1902年 7月16日 に連合王国貴族 爵位ランカスターのパラティン州におけるガウソープのシャトルワース男爵 (Baron Shuttleworth, of Gawthorpe in the County Palatine of Lancaster)に叙され、貴族院 議員に列した[ 2] [ 3]
彼の長男ローレンス (1887–1917) は父に先立って第一次世界大戦 で戦死した[ 4]
そのため初代男爵の死後、ローレンスの長男リチャード (1913–1940) が2代男爵位を継承したが、彼は第二次世界大戦 のバトル・オブ・ブリテン で戦死した[ 5]
2代男爵には子供がなかったのでその弟のロナルド (1917–1942) が3代男爵を継承したが、彼も第二次世界大戦の北アフリカ戦線 で戦死した[ 6]
3代男爵にも子供はなく、初代男爵の次男エドワード (1890-1917) (第一次世界大戦中に事故死)の長男チャールズ (1917–1975) が4代男爵を継承した。彼も第二次世界大戦に従軍して負傷をした[ 7]
4代男爵の死後はその長男のチャールズ (1948-) が5代男爵を継承した。2016年現在の当主も彼である。彼は1998年 から2006年 までランカスター公領 会議の議長を務め[ 8] 2016年 4月23日 には女王エリザベス2世 よりガーター騎士団 ナイトに叙された[ 9]
一族の邸宅はランカシャー・パジアム （英語版 ） ガウソープ・ホール （英語版 ） 1970年 に売却した。現在の邸宅はランカシャー・レック （英語版 ） レック・ホール （英語版 ） [ 2]
