イザベル・ド・シャリエール（Isabelle de Charrière、出生名イザベラ・アグネタ・エリザベス・ファン・トゥイル・ファン・セロスケルケン、Isabella Agneta Elisabeth van Tuyll van Serooskerken、1740年10月20日 - 1805年12月27日）は、オランダ貴族の娘に生まれた著述家、芸術愛好家である。スイス人のシャルル＝エマニュエル・ド・シャリエール（Charles-Emmanuel de Charrière de Penthaz, 1735年 – 1808年）と結婚して、シャリエール夫人と呼ばれた。人生の後半はスイス、ヌーシャテルのコロンビエで夫の家族の邸に住んだ。若い頃はベレ・ファン・ザイレン（Belle van Zuylen：ザイレン家はオランダの貴族）と呼ばれ、オランダではこの呼称が用いられる。フランス革命の時代の人物で、スイスに亡命した多くのフランスの文化人らと交流したことで知られる。

略歴

現在はユトレヒトの一部となっているザイレンのオランダ貴族の家に生まれた。10歳の時、フランス語話者の家庭教師と1年間スイス、フランスを旅し、フランス語に習熟した。両親の理解を得て、当時の女性としては広い分野の教育を受け、その分野は語学、文学、自然科学に及んだ。ラテン語、イタリア語、ドイツ語、英語を学び、音楽はイタリアの作曲家ニコロ・アントニオ・ジンガレッリに学んだ。

1763年、22歳の時に匿名で風刺小説「Le Noble」をフランス語で発表した[1]。

30歳の時、以前兄弟の家庭教師を務めていたシャルル＝エマニュエル・ド・シャリエールと結婚した。夫の祖父で旅行作家として知られるムラルト (Béat Louis de Muralt) が購入したスイス、ヌーシャテルの邸に夫の親や姉妹と住み、ジュネーヴやパリをしばしば訪れた。1784年から『ヌーシャテルからの手紙』 (Lettres neuchâteloises) など多くの著作を出版した。

1786年からパリで1年半以上過ごし、ハープシコードの曲の作曲と演奏に多くの時間を費やした。女流作家のアメリー・スアール (Amélie Suard) の文学サロンで文学者のバンジャマン・コンスタンに会い、コンスタンに影響を与えた。

1789年から1890年にジャン＝ジャック・ルソーの著書『告白』第2部のルソー没後の出版に貢献した。
