Under the Influence è un singolo del cantante statunitense Chris Brown, pubblicato il 6 settembre 2022 come primo estratto dall'edizione estesa del nono album in studio Indigo.
Antefatti
Il brano è stato co-scritto dallo stesso Brown insieme al cantautore nigeriano Davido e prodotto da KDDO.[17] Fu pubblicato per la prima volta nel 2019 all'interno della versione estesa dell'album Indigo, senza venire estratto come singolo in tale frangente.[18] Il lancio discografico di Under the Influence in qualità di singolo è avvenuto soltanto nel settembre 2022, quando il brano era già diventato virale sulla piattaforma TikTok.[19]
Successo commerciale
Nel 2022, tre anni dopo la sua effettiva pubblicazione, Under the Influence è diventato una sleeper hit grazie alla popolarità raggiunta su TikTok.[20] Il successo su TikTok ha fatto sì che il brano diventasse il più ricercato del momento sulla piattaforma Shazam e, successivamente, un successo di streaming e vendite.[17][20] Nel febbraio 2023 il brano raggiunge la vetta nella classifica settimanale delle canzoni più trasmesse dalle radio urban statunitensi.[21]
