Wyss (German pronunciation: [ˈʋiːs] ) is an Alemannic form of the German surname Weiß used predominantly in Switzerland .[ 1] [ 2] It comes from Middle High German wīz (white, blonde) and Old High German wîs (wise, clever, experienced, knows).[ 3]
